Daisy sighed as she moved around the tables in the pub, wiping them down after she cleared them off, setting the dirty glasses up on the bar to be carried back to the kitchen for cleaning. Pushing some errant strands of hair out of her eyes, she started humming a soft tune to herself as she went about her work.

Maggie slid into one of the chairs at a table, pulling at her unruely hair. Things had been going better for her as late, but she knew things could always change in a flash. No matter, no matter. She had her chipper disposition, and she had alcohol--what else did anyone need?

Daisy glanced up as the young woman entered and seated herself at one of the tables. With a final wipe at the table she had been cleaning, Daisy wandered over in her direction, smiling as she approached the table. "Afternoon, what can I get ya?"

Maggie tugged on a couple of her curls, debating her options. "How about a bottle of scotch--cheapest you got--and a sandwich?" Maggie actually hated drinking cheap scotch, but she couldn't afford more than that.

"Aye," Daisy said with a soft smile and a nod before leaving to place the sandwhich order and grab a bottle of scotch and a glass from behind the bar. She returned to the table a few moments later and set them in front of the girl. "Your sandwhich will be out in just a bit. Anything else?"

Maggie shook her head. "Nope...that's it." She smiled and shrugged. "I appreciate it, lass." She poured herself a shot, offering it to Daisy. "Want one?"

Daisy glanced around at the otherwise empty pub and shrugged slightly, what could it hurt. She was tired and she only had a few hours left on her shift. "Aye, pour me some lass," She agreed with a smile as she slid down into the chair across from the girl.

Maggie laughed. "Aye..that's the spirit!" She poured the girl a shot, taking the bottle to her lips. "Sometimes yah just need to drown your thoughts."

"Ach more than you know lass," Daisy agreed, taking the shot and tilting it back quickly, "I'm Daisy O'Connor," She said, feeling like she should introduce herself since she was sharing a drink with the girl.

Maggie smirked. "Maggie." She took another shot. "And believe me, I'm sure I know." She shook her head. "I'm just glad that damn disease is outta here.."

"Aye," Daisy agreed, her smile sobering for a second before she shook off the sadness that loomed over her. "Me too, a brutal thing it was."

Maggie shoved Daisy lightly, tugging on her own curls. "But ach..those who've gone are at a better place--leaving us lot to suffer on earth." She laughed, taking another shot.

"Well said, Maggie," Daisy said with a smile. She'd been trying to take that approach, the one Peem had told her and it was helping. "You lose anyone too the disease?" She asked quietly, hpoing Maggie wouldn't find the question to probing.

Maggie nodded. "Aye...me...well I..me friend Brigmal." She sighed. "And me best friend, Shiloh." She hadn't really delt with that death yet, and she didn't plan on it. She took another gulp of scotch. "You?"
