Nuke nodded, "Yeah." It was a shame. People were only interested in the exiting, interesting stories, and she had to admit, this story was pretty exciting. She just wondered how this boy would feel when he heard newsies from all over New York yelling about him.

"So..." Dutchy started a bit nervously. He wasn't one for talking much either, except around those he was really comfortable with. He did start the conversation and it took him a while to even do that. He had been thinking of what to say, standing in line, before he had even seen the headline. In a way he was glad it was so gruesome. It certainly was a conversation starter. And now that he *had* started it...
"Where do ya think you'll be headin' today?" He spoke casually, ajusting his hat and peered at the sky, "Might rain..."

Nuke shrugged. "Probably central park." She looked up at the sky then over at the boy for the first time. It figured it would rain the day they had a decent headline. She smiled. "I'm Nuke."

Dutchy looked back at her, surprised she had introduced herself. And felt like an idiot for being surprised. "I'm Dutchy," He stuck out his hand, switching his papes to the other hand.

She took his hand and shook it firmly. "Well Dutchy, it was nice meeting you, but I should try to sell as much as i can before the rain comes."

"Yeah, sure... Uh, if you want," Dutchy shrugged giving her a slightly emarrased smile, "you could come with me..."

Nuke smiled and shrugged, standing. "Sure, why not?" After all, anything was better than selling alone. Maybe it would make time go by faster.

<<new day>>
Jack sat on the crates, puffing on a cigarette as he looked over the headlines of the day. Nothing good, sadly...seemed like nothing had been good. Things had been a bit chancey with the newsies, having to doll out a bit of his own money to keep some of them going...he was getting too old for this, but he didn't want to leave the kids he loved behind. It was a hard thing to decide.

Prince had some time, and despite the cold weather, she was determined to find Jack. She... well frankly she missed him. She wondered what he was up to. And she hadn't seen him for a while. If anything she at least wanted to say hello... and wish him a good winter. In all honesty, it had been a while, she wondered if she'd done something wrong... but she hoped that... he was just busy.
For this reason she came to Manhattan and was headed for the Lodging house when she spotted someone at distribution. She thought they might know where Jack was, but as she got closer she saw it was Jack. She didn't wave or anything, she'd wait for him to notice her, but she continued to walk closer.

Jack grinned as he saw Prince comin closer, waving at her gently. He knew he had neglected her, but things had been wild around the place, and it had been hard for him to see anyone.
"Heyya, Prince..." He knew she was in her disguise, so he kept his distance.

"Hey Jack," she said with a bright smile back. She let her tone float into her normal range... since he appeared to be the only one around.
But all at once her mind began to race. She had no plans of what to say, what to do! She usually was a bit more prepared, had an idea of what should be done but... at this point she really wasn't certain what to do!
"How ya been? Busy I bet," she said with a bright smile, hoping to start with friendly conversation.

Jack laughed and pulled Prince into his arms, planting a kiss on her lips all rash like. He had missed her, and wanted her still, if she'd still have him. "I've not been busy enough tah miss ya, Mary.."

She smiled up at him and suddenly felt much better. "I've missed youse too," she said in a natural tone. She tossed a glance around but didn't see anyone comin, so she didn't pull from his grasp. She saw no need to. "What have you been up to?" she asked wondering what had been occupying his mind.

Jack shrugged. "Been about, really. It's been a bit crazy about hea'." He'd been thinking a lot. He had to find a new job soon, but he didn't wnat to leave his old one behind. "Evah hoid of a twenty yeah old newsie?" His 20th birthday was coming up, and it really had him thinking.

Oh, that's what had him unhappy... his age. She wasn't surprised, she was 18 herself. "Cain't say that I have... but I've heard of worse things!" she said trying to keep an optimistic nature. "What else could ya do, Jack? ...Could ya find someone ta take ovah for ya?" she didn't know if he'd been working on finding a replacement or not.
