That was true, it would piss him off if someone said, 'Now Skittery, you're like a four year old.. we can't leave you alone for more than five minutes. You'd get taken like that!'; sure he'd be pissed. But at that moment he watched Snoddy before he grumbled a bit shoving his apple in his mouth. His brow lifted at the question. "Squirrel nests?" Oh lord help him. Thinking after that for a moment he thought about being able to get sun, instead of being stuck inside. But... well he didn't reply at first. He'd have to stew on that one.
Grinning once again he leaned on the back of the couch with a smirk, "Well from what I heard she fell for every line he threw at her..."

Snoddy could hear the reluctance in Skittery's voice when he echoed 'squirrel nests,' so he wouldn't push it. No one else seemed to enjoy taking in nature as much as he did, and it was a lot less taxing to just do without for a few days than have to drag someone--especially a whiny, complaining Skittery--along unwillingly. Maybe Dutchy would be around later. He liked to read in the park sometimes...
Instead, he pursued the Piper-Specs aspect. Snoddy sat up again, sitting sideways on the sofa with his legs folded underneath him, and leaned against the back of the couch, focusing on Skittery.
"So what happened? Was Specs doing the suave thing, where he's all--" (Snoddy raised a hand in front of him and wiggled it a bit, putting on an expression that was either supposed to mock the French or indicate bowel trouble.) "--or was he playing the sympathy card, where he's all in touch with a girl's problems?"
Watching Specs when he was on the prowl was like watching a woodworker make his craft. It was almost as good as the time a young Snoddy climbed a tree and got to watch a thylacine stalk and kill a quokka.

"He apparently understood her problems and yada yada," Skittery waved it off with his apple and smirked as he recalled what he'd heard from Snipeshooter. Apparently the smaller newsie had been spying on the whole thing. Eh, to each his own Skits supposed. People were just that way, and he'd have waited until Specs had gotten farther before ruining the mood the way Brook had.
"And then Brook dragged Specs off an' I heard Piper's got some dope in the Bronx she's got on a string.." rolling his eyes Skittery took another bite from his apple, now picking at the rind with is teeth. "Can't say I blame Specs non, she was stupid enough ta fall for it when everyone in Manhattan and MOST of New York knows he's full of it. And she lives here, so I say it's her own fault.."

"Just like Skittery, blaming the victim," Snoddy said with a good-natured grin. He reached up and ruffled Skittery's hair before stretching out on the couch again. Pulling out his book and opening it up to the last page he left off from, he muttered, "Damn, Brook, couldn't hold off the party crashing a few more minutes? Story was getting good."

Skittery shrugged at the obvious slam, as far as he was concerned there was no victim, Piper walked into it and even if her eyes weren't wide open who could really fault Specs for just following his better nature. He smirked when he damned Brook, yeah that was what he was thinking.
"Heh, from what I heard Blink was all cuddled up to some blond at Tibby's afterwords and Brook walked off in a tiff. So guess she got what was coming to her too.." he always felt like people should get what was coming to them, justice of the universe wasn't always swift but it was what it was.
