At Prince's retelling of the younger newsies needing consoling during stormy nights, Don't Ask laughed out loud. "Oh, that's adorable," he said, in spite of himself. "I told my brother that storms was just the Lord building a new library in Heaven. The thunder's the angels with their hammers, and sometimes they're banging so hard, they crack the clouds open and the light of Heaven would shine through, and that was the lightning." He smirked to himself, remember how well that had consoled Stanislaus when they were kids. "It's pretty obviously bullshit to anyone over ten, but it worked well for my brother."
"B'sides, a lotta people are expectin me, along with the other leaders, to come up with some kinda solution here pretty quick, and I dunno how that's gonna go. Dun get me wrong the more info the better, and rallyin' the troops won't be too hard! But... at the same time, it's a lotta responsibility, ya know? Not bad, just a lot... lotta people starin' at ya."
Don't Ask pulled a face, nodding sympathetically. He hated being in a position where people stared at him. "Yeah," he said emphatically, "I can understand that. But, hey, I told Jack already--well, Dutchy told Jack for me--and I guess now I'm telling you: You guys got any need for a blacksmith in this game, I'm your man. Here to help and at your disposal."

Prince smiled at the story of the lighting and the thunder. "Libraries huh?" she smiled a little. "I always heard they were playin' baseball... that was the thundar with the crack of the bat. Then they'd dart around the bases quick as lightnin'." She chuckled a little. Most of the boys in the lodging house understood that, and her mother had told her that years and years ago. "But that might work a bit better," she nodded. "For some of the girls anyway."
"You guys got any need for a blacksmith in this game, I'm your man. Here to help and at your disposal."
She nodded with a smile. "Yeah, I'll remember that," she said emphatically. "Idunno what we'd need ya specifically for, but I can tell ya that we can always use another set a hands on our side, and the more guys the bettah," she added. "And a blacksmith assistant..." she shrugged, figuring DA would be pretty strong. "and if ya got any friends, they're welcome too."
