Danny nodded, blowing a puff of smoke toward the sky before speaking. "Aye, I've seen him around. Dock worker, right?" He knew of almost everyone living in or near the lodging house, but couldn't even consider most acquaintances. Few knew who Danny was, and he much preferred it that way.

"Mhm." It wouldn't be surprising to Maeby even if Danny was more familiar with Zero than mere acquaintances. It seemed so easy for her older brother to make friends in the city, his laid-back persona drawing people in while her defensive one tended to push people away.
"He doesn't live here, though." She noted, having absolutely no idea why. Normally, she didn't pursue much conversation unless there was something to talk about and, needless to say, her brother was a poor subject. After offering the tidbit of useless information, she turned her face away from him and let her wild hair hide her from his view as she looked up the dock, hugging her knees.

((New Day))
Lucky had some news she'd heard from one of the kids in the Bronx, and headed off to find Danny. It was actually a big deal over there, the nice girl that worked at the Bakery had been worked over. "Danno!" she called out, looking around to see if he was smoking where he normally was. Where was he? "Hey Danno!"

Danny smirked at the sound of the voice calling him. Slowly getting up he came around the side of the building from where he had been sitting (hoping to avoid notice) and leaned against the cold brick, a smirk still barely visible on his otherwise dull expression. He tipped his hat up slightly to see her better as he puffed casually at his cigarette. "What?"

"You girl from the Bronx got trounced on, Dodge said someone beat her up pretty bad.." she figured that Danny would want to know exactly what she knew. "Said it was after she closed up one night since she was watching the bakery for old lard ass.."

"Your girl from the Bronx got trounced on, Dodge said someone beat her up pretty bad.."
Danny scoffed slightly, but before he could make it clear that he did not in fact have a girl at all, the entirety of what she said slowly sank in.
"Said it was after she closed up one night since she was watching the bakery for old lard ass.."
He paused a moment, his face screwed up in confusion. "What the hell is she doing closing the shop by herself?" He knew that fat ass Stan was no good. "Why?" His mind was moving faster than his words, but he clarified his question. "What, they take her stuff? Rob the place?" He flicked his cigarette away, agitated, and crossed his arms. None of it made sense.

Lucky shook her head and she backed up a little bit, she wasn't sure what Danny was going to do when he was upset. he was normally so mellow, it was those ones you wanted to watch out for.
"No, seems like they were just after her.. she's pretty banged up. Dodge said someone found her against the door bleeding.."

"No, seems like they were just after her.. she's pretty banged up. Dodge said someone found her against the door bleeding.."
He cringed at her words, but his expression quickly changed to one of determination. His jaw was tense and his eyes hard as he adjusted his cap and stepped around Lucky. The slamming door behind him was all he left her with.

Lucky looked over her shoulder and called after him, "She's at the Bronx lodging house!" sighing she let out a breath. "Blimey, remind me not ta piss him off.." she pulled out a smoke and went to find Smalls and tell her about the new news.

*NEW DAY*
Reid knocked on the back door of the Brooklyn Lodging House and shifted uncomfortable from foot to foot. He wasn't one to intrude on other peoples homes and he had heard that the Brooklyn newsies weren't particularly welcoming so he didn't want to just barge into the house. He didn't even really wanted to be here, but he refused to let his sister come here and it was one of the places Perry might have gone. He was praying to god that when he met with his sister tonight back at the Bronx lodging house that he had his brother in tow or she did.

Dragging her feet loudly as she walked toward the door Smalls ran a hand through her hair, only succeeding in making it more wild. She'd drifted off on the downstairs sofa, something that didn't tend to agree with rarely brushed hair, but as she made her way over she pulled her cap out of her back pocket and tucked it on her head as she swung open the door and leaned casually in the frame. "What?"
It was rare for someone to coming knocking in Brooklyn, and those who did were usually either cops or concerned case workers.

Reid gave Smalls a smile, hoping to find something out and not wanting to cause any trouble. "I don't want to bother you miss, but I'm a bronx newsie and my brother went missing today." Reid paused, not exactly sure how to word the fact that Perry considered Spot a hero and was obsessed with meeting him. He wasn't sure how that would go over with the Brooklyn newsies so he decided not to say anything about Conlon.
"He sneaks away to Brooklyn sometimes and I just wanted to see if he had possibly come by here. He's seven, bout yey high.." Reid held his hand to where Perry would stand. "He's got brown hair and he asks a lot of questions."

Smalls liked this guy, no bullshit pleasantries or whining about wanting to talk to Spot. Straight to the point.
"I saw a boy," she began, gesturing toward the docks with her head. "Over by the crates, just," she shrugged, "wanderin' around." Pausing she cocked her head slightly, pulling out a cigarette and striking a match on the brick. It was clear she had more to say, but she took her time, taking a long drag before continuing. "Thing is, it aint Brooklyn you gotta be worried about. From what I heah, 'hattan and The Bronx have been hit the worst. Kids goin' missin', and a couple girls." She took another drag, looking out at the docks with not concern, but growing anger. Kids going missing elsewhere was one thing, but someone sneaking around Brooklyn to snatch kids? Oh, there would be hell to pay.

Reid rubbed a hand over his face, this was going to kill his sister. "Yeah I'd heard about it just didn't think..." He trailed off, the last thing he was going to do was unload on this girl. He'd check the docks first and a couple of other places around the area. Maybe Perry just got lost or decided to curl up down by the river. He hoped so because Lexi was going to lose her mind if Perry wasn't found. "Thanks." He didn't really know what else to say, she'd told him exactly what he'd been dreading hearing and now his heart was sinking.

Smalls nodded solemnly, truly feeling for the guy. Sure, she loathed children with every fiber of her being, but the kid was his family. She turned to leave, the screen door slamming shut behind her before instantly creaking open again as she turned around. "Hey, anyone gives you trouble, tell 'em your a friend'a Smalls." She knew how Brooklyn could be, beating up basically anyone who crossed onto their turf, and obviously this guy was going to go have a look around for himself. She couldn't blame him for that.
