"Ya ya ya, whatevah. See ya at da lodging house Cupid."
"See ya Clever." He watched as his brother walked away into the direction of Queens, which was the way he came from.
"Bye Clever."
Cupid glanced at Dice and saw that she had a sad smile on her face, but he had no clue why. "Uh...Dice? What's wrong?"

"Uh...Dice? What's wrong?"
"Nothin, I'm okay." Dice actually didn't have anything wrong with her she just sometimes maked herself sad on stupid things like when people get sad she sometimes gets sad.

"Oh, aight. So..what do ya wanna do? He asked suddenly, breaking the silence.
Dice forgot that Cupid was still holding her hand, when she did finally realize that she had a feeling that her face was getting pretty hot. "We could uh.." there was a short pause. "We could take a walk?"

"We could uh..We could take a walk?"
Cupid smiled at how red her face was getting, but was also very happy that she hasn't pulled her hand away yet. "Aight, let's go." He stood up, his hand still in hers, and pulled her up with him.
(Do you want to go to Pelham Bay Park in Bronx?)

<New Day>
Solitaire spread a blanket across the grass and sat down. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes, letting her body relax. Moving had taken a lot out of her, but now that she was in the greatest city in the world, she felt somewhat at peace. She was away from her stifling family, her stuffy little old town, and her old life in general. She was here, her new life as Solitaire Calloway thrown out before her like a worn out deck of cards.
And speaking of cards, she reached into her small basket where she kept her belongings and pulled out her card deck. The box was ripped and frayed, but it was her lucky deck. She tapped out the cards and shuffled them easily, her nimble fingers flying. She set them up into seven piles, starting with one card, two cards, and so on. She flipped the first card on every pile and left the rest of the deck on the corner of her blanket.
The game made her feel even more relaxed, made her feel at home. It was the one thing that would let her mind roam freely -- she played almost robotically, knowing where cards could go and planning strategies and pitfalls as she played.
After while, she stopped and took out her sketches. Bound together with twine, she had hopes of selling them and earning a couple of pennies. Some of them were water damaged, some were not -- she had one of her brother Adam that was so damaged his nose stretched across the paper. She giggled and took the twine off, examining her drawings.

Melody was looking around for his sister, Magenta, but couldn't seem to find her at the moment. Pouting his lips a little bit, he stopped walking and crossed him arms, looking from side to side. His glancing made him stop. In the distance, he saw a girl who looked a little older then Magenta, but she looked very nice.
Hearing her giggle, Melody smiled and walked over there. He wasn't much of a talker, but he needed to know where his sister was. He didn't talk to her though, he was going to wait and see if she walked over to him. Sitting on a bench near her, about a few feet away, he glanced at her quickly then looked away.

She glanced up and noticed a small boy sitting on a bench nearby. She put her sketches down, finding a somewhat blank and undamaged piece of butcher's paper and her charcoal. She studied the boy, taking in his facial features, the way his hair lay, the line of his jaw. Slowly, she began to draw him, glancing up every so often.

Melody didn't see her glancing at him, but he did notice she was drawing something. Not looking at the picture, he looked up at the sky and smiled. Watching a bird flutter by and sing, he thought of a song. Remembering the one his mother used to sing to him when he cried, called 'You'll Be In My Heart', he started to sing.

Solitaire paused in her sketching when the boy began to sing. She looked up, listening to his voice. She wasn't much of a singer herself, and she didn't know an excellent voice from a good one, but this young boy sang very well. She enjoyed the song and continued sketching, beginning on his neck and shoulders. When the song became familiar, when the melody danced along in the back of her head, she hummed along, tucking a strand of black hair behind her ear.

Melody glanced up at her humming, and kept on singing. When she looked back at him, he gave her a shy smile. He hadn't known he was singing, but if she wasn't making fun of him, and singing along instead, he kept going.
Closing his eyes, he smiled. Opening his blue eye to glance at her a few times, he grinned a big grin.

After a few minutes, she put her charcoal down and looked the picture over. It was done quickly, without much thought, but it was...nice. She stood up, leaving her blanket where it was and walked over to the little boy. She showed him the picture silently, a small grin playing on her face.
"Do you like it?" she asked softly, being sure not to be threatening. She hated it when older people loomed down and seemed dangreous. She wouldn't do it to him.

Melody flinched. He had his eyes closed, and didn't see her walk up to him. Smiling, he nodded his head. "Yeah, I like it, I like it a lot." Melody said very quietly. He has a very quiet voice, and isn't as open as his sister is.

"Yeah, I like it. I like it a lot."
Her smile grew wider and she handed it to him. "You've got a very nice voice. You should keep singing." It was honest. The boy had a very very nice voice. When he got older and practiced more, perhaps he'd become a star.
((urgh. sorry for the bad posts.))
