He watched her quietly, got comfortable with her where she was. "If you don't follow your dreams, Irish. Yeah, I'd say he might tame you.." and it would break his heart to see something so free be shackled that way. Resting his chin on the top of her head he sighed and closed his eyes. "You don't have to take it at the expense of others, just don't let someone take it from you--"

Flanna sighed, wanting to just curl up in his lap and fall asleep, like she used to when they were kids. Caleb always centered her, grounded her, but never made her feel tied to anything, locked to him. It was why she cared so much about him. "I'll try. It's a balance I haven't learned yet. Too many extreems these days."

He snorted a little and shrugged, "There are a lot of extremes in the world, Irish. You'll find the balance..." He didn't want her to lose herself. A part of him would champion for her. Be with her when she needed that grounding place. And the other part-- well. He was wild too.

"Right right. And Hell will freeze over." She stood up, putting out her hands. "Walk me home?"

He grinned and stood up taking her hands in his and sighing, "I guess if I must--- maybe I'll run into this Ethan of yours..." He wouldn't do anything, it was Flanna's choice what she did and did not do. "Come on, Irish. Lets get you home before the witching hour.."

**New Day**
Impatient had just eaten her breakfast, well, if black coffee with chunks in it and a small piece of bread count, then alright. She was done getting her papes in a flash so she could make her way over to the Racetrack to watch the race as she sold. Yes, she was a Manhattan newsie, but she liked the Racetrack in Queens, it sells much more. And the fact that she had some friends from Queens too helps. Her papes were under her arm, and her hat in her back pocket as she walked up the the side of the racetrack. As usual, she snuck in easily and unnoticeable with a achieved grin on her face. Her brown silky hair hung down at her shoulders, and her brown eyes filled with excitement as she began yelling headlines for people to buy. Yeah, it was taking awhile, hence the fact that this was a Racetrack, and people came to watch the race, not buy a paper and sit, and then read it.
Finally, she finished selling her papes and she smacked her lips in success. Jumping over a few seats, she got to a good seat just in time for the race to begin. The one she was betting on winning was Star Dust. She was a nice, silky black horse with great speed and coordination, which made it an even better race. Licking her lips, she shifted a little on her feet.

The twins walked into aqueduct racetrack with grins plastered on their faces. Well, they actually snuck in, but still, they were grinning. They both had around seventy papes under their arm, having managed to sell some on their way over, and were looking to sell quickly so they could get something to eat.
“Okay, here’s da plan,” Nike whispered conspiratorially, “You sell on the south side, I’ll sell on the north side. Then we’ll meet in the middle an’ get something ta eat.” Styx nodded at his sister’s ‘plan’ and leaned in closer, pretending to watch for eavesdroppers.
“Sure thing, but one question: whay are we whispering…?” He asked laughing.
“Oh come on, I’m just havin’ a bit o’ fun! But I’ll meet ya in the middle!” She shouted to him as she raced off.
Styx waved his hat at her in reply, then began walking up and down the stands, calling headlines as they came to him. “Mayor seen cavorting with younger woman, scandal galore!” he shouted to the people in line to make bets. The article actually read ‘Mayor has lunch with niece,’ but they didn’t have to know that. Quite a few of the people motioned him over and bought a paper, then he quickly blended in with the crowd headed for the stands. The last thing he wanted was for them to notice he had ‘improved the truth,’ as Prince called it. The twins, of course, were practiced liars, so selling papers came naturally to them.
He continued to sell to the people in the stands until he only had fifteen papes left, then he stopped to watch the race that was about to begin. People rose in their seats and cheered on their chosen horse, all of them hoping to make some money. His eye though, was drawn, not to the horses, but to a very attractive young girl sitting only a few feet from him. She had ink stains on her hands, so he guessed she must be a newsie (too young to be a writer), but where from he didn’t know. He and Nike had been newsies in Queens only a week, but they already had met most of the people there and he hadn’t met this girl before. He was sure he’d remember if he had. So, being the flirt that he was, he walked over and sat down in the empty seat next to her.
“Who ya bettin on, cuttie?” Subtlety definately wasn’t his style.

Impy saw out of the corner of her eyes, someone sit next to her and ask her a question.
“Who ya bettin on, cuttie?”
Turning her attention to him, she saw it was a boy. A very handsome boy at that. She wasn't one to be good with boys, so she ran a hand through her hair and stuttered, "Uh...Star- Star - Dust. What's it to ya?" It wasn't a rude question, just an embarrassing one as she couldn't think of what to say, and the blood rushed to her cheeks.

Styx saw her blush and couldn’t help but grin when she stuttered. He loved it when he made girls do that. “Easy there, gersha. It was jus’ a question,” he defended, still grinning. Then he looked opened up a racing program that someone had dropped and found the horse she was betting on. “Hmm… looks like ya got pretty good odds on that one. Probably should a bet on her mahself. But eh, whatchya gonna do.” Suddenly the horses entered the homestretch, and the crowd went wild. Styx stood up and quickly found the horse the girl was betting on. “Come on! Stand up!" Star Dust was neck and neck for first with Sunday Silence. "This is gonna be a nail biter!”

"This is gonna be a nail biter!”
Impatient couldn't help but giggle softly at his enthusiasm. Yes, it was a horse race, and yes, they were fun, but she had never seen a boy act this way, other then Racetrack and Spot. Those are the two biggies with horse racing. Obviously Race would be there, though, take a look at his name! She snapped out of her thoughts and stood up with him, spotting out Star Dust right away. 'Come on, come on Star Dust, go!', she thought to herself.

Styx cheered when Star Dust finished first then turned to the girl next to him. “Congrats on winnin’!,” he grinned sticking out his hand to shake hers. “I’m Styx, by the way. Can I ask ya name, doll?” He liked lucky girls, espically very pretty ones.

“Congrats on winnin’!,”
She smiled at him softly. "Thank ya." She usually doesn't win a lot, but this was one of her lucky days.
“I’m Styx, by the way. Can I ask ya name, doll?”
Impy blushed a deep red, and tried to control herself in front of him as she cleared the forming lump in her throat. "I'm Impatient. But, some people call me Impy," She shrugged softly at him. She didn't really like her name, but it was pretty obvious as to how she got it. But the fact was that she didn't think that she was too impatient, just slightly.

Styx gave her one of his trademark heartbreaking smiles and held out a hand (without spitting in it), "Well, Impy, pleased to make ya acquaintance."

"Well, Impy, I'm Styx. Pleased to make ya acquaintance."
She smiled and her heart just melted at his beautiful smile. "It's nice to meet ya well Styx." She shook his hand slowly and felt a shock run up her hand.

Styx noticed the way she reacted to his simple handshake and thought briefly about reining in the charm a little as he bent to pick up his remaining papers. But straightening up again he looked into her sweet, eager face and just couldn't help himself!
"So i noticed your hands are the same inky black as mine, you wouldn't happen to be a newsie, too, would ya?" He finished off his question with a quick wink at the already blushing girl. If he played his cards right, and he usually did, he could get a lunch date out of this at the very least.
