He grinned, shrugging as they approached the window. "Sure, I guess I could try.. eighty?" He didn't want to get more than she would be able to help him sell, but at least since the last strike spares could be sold back.

She nodded. "If ya think you're up for it," she said with a soft smile. She figured she'd just do ninety for the day, that way she could help out Dez, and make a profit. She hoped so anyway. "After you," she said bowing to let him go get his papes before she got hers.

He shook his head, holding out his hand for her to go and smirking ever so slightly. "You know.." He glanced around and leaned forward, lowering his voice conspiratorially, "Ladies first..."

Prince looked at him and nearly laughed loudly. She smiled softly just the same. "...Thanks," she said. She headed over to the counter and ordered up 90 papes. She put down the money, collected her papers and headed down the ramp to wait for Dez. She started scanning headlines as she waited for him. He was a nice guy wasn't he?

He grinned as she passed, walking up to the counter after her and buying his seventy papers. Looking through them as he walked over to her he sighed inwardly, not finding anything worth shouting. "Well.." He glanced up from his paper and raised an eyebrow. "What do you think?"

"I think we're gonna have fun," she said nodding as she started looking for the smaller headlines. "One thing ya gotta do," she said flipping to the back of the sections, "is look for headlines that no one else will really see. Then when they do find the story we're... on long gone by then," she said rather proudly.
"The important thing to remember is not to lie," she said. "You get into a lie and you can't getcha self out. Plus the real stories got potential just as much as the fake ones if not more," she stated. "And after all," she said with a smirk, "gotta give the reporters some credit, dun we?" she asked with a playful smirk. "See any stories that look like nothin'?" she asked looking over his shoulder.

He shrugged, searching through his paper a moment before nodding his head. "How about this one?" He pointed to it with his thumb as he held the paper toward her, reading the headline out loud. "Renovations for 9th Street Building.." He glanced at her out of the corner of his eye, holding back a smirk. He was pretty sure he'd found the single most boring article in the entire paper, and he found the idea of stumping the great leader exceedingly amusing.

Prince did have to think about it. There wasn't much to go on... but she had a thought Renovation... change. The building was changing... and people in general were afraid of change, and yet had the desire to keep up with modern times. Endless possibilies. Should she go for fear, or interest? Fear sold better. She smiled at him. As she spoke her concocted headline, she spoke calmly and assured. she had this easy. "9th Street Buildin' making big changes. All of New York set to make big changes! Your building could be next... extry extry," she said with a smirk.

Luis laughed, pulling the paper away. "Alright, I get it.." He glanced through the paper again, finding another article that was a complete snooze. "How about this? 'Mayor abandoning family, spends no time with children..'" He grinned, pointing out the article about the Mayor's busy schedule.

Mary stared at the article for a minute. "Naw... that's a good read" she said attempting to hide any and all emotion. Hit a little close to home for her. "People always like ta hear about political types havin' family problems. Make's 'em realize that those in power, is just human too... and just as big a jerks as the world thinks they are."
She tucked her few papers under her arm. "What'er we wain' for huh, Dez? C'mon let's hit the streets while I'm still young," she said. She pushed all the memories and her past out of her mind again as she grabbed one paper and headed out, expecting Dez to follow.

He grinned, tucking his papers under his arm as he followed her out of the distribution center. "Fine by me!"

Prince glanced over her shoulder at him and smiled. "C'mon! Or we'll nevah make any progress," she said her mood improving slowly as she continued down the street.
(shall we have a place to keep selling or end the story here for now? what would you like to do?)

[NEW DAY]
David let his eyes wander across the building. He had walked by the birth place of The New York Journal before, but had never stopped. It seemed to be set up much like the World building - right down to the dirty newsies milling about in front.
He turned to Aqua. "You said Prince is around here a lot?" He still wasn't exactly sure what he was going to say to the Queen's leader, but he thought it would be good to get his ideas out there. Someone had to see where the newsies stood.

"You could say that," Prince said as she came up behind the two of them. Prince had seen Davey and Aqua walk by the fountain. It wasn't common to see David down in Queens, so she knew he had to be here for a reason. So, she had decided to investigate.
She looked between the two of them. "Can I help you, David?" she asked folding her arms. David of all people would remember that Prince and Jack had been "seeing each other" for a while on sort of a relationship basis. David would also recall that Jack and Prince hadn't spent much time together since Jack got back from Santa Fe... so David would know that Prince probably missed Jack... and wasn't too pleased with him at the moment either, probably. Though, she also knew David wasn't here on pleasure, or she assumed, it was probably strike business, and it needed to be discussed, in which case, she was happy to listen.
Her appearance was still that of a boy, as it always was any time she was outside of a lodging house. Her hair was tucked up in her hat to hide it's femininity, and the tone of her voice kept low to sound like a teenage boy as opposed to a girl. Her arms were folded across her chest as she gazed straight at David, waiting for a reply.
