<New Day>
Solitaire lounged on her apartment building's stoop, smiling to herself as she watched people pass. Harried mothers with three misbehaving children, vendors selling their wares. The hustle and bustle of city life suited her a bit, she decieded, playing with the pack of cards in her hand.

Sneaks was walking past the apartments, and noticed a girl playing with cards. Smirking, he pulled out his own, setting into his intricate shuffling, his deft fingers doing things that seemed a bit impossible.
"So, you like cards?" He smirked, stepping up to her.

The man who stepped up to her shuffled intricately, and she smiled shyly.
"So, you like cards?"
She nodded, saying softly and shyly, "Yes, yes I do." She tapped her cards out of their pack and started shuffling in her own intricate way, the way she taught herself. She didn't look down at the cards, she looked at him, studying him.

Sneaks smirked. "...I can tell." He sat down next to her without asking, watching the way she was shuffling, and after a few moments started to shuffle like her, mirorring her movements. "Hardly ever find anyone who can shuffle cards these days...its a gift most people care not to have..." He continued to shuffle, moving to one hand, and put out his free one. "I'm Sneaks."

Solitaire watched him shuffle, copying her way. She glanced down at her cards, biting her lip as she tried a new maneuver she'd been working on during the train ride here. She got it, but only by a small fraction of a second -- if she hadn't moved her hand to catch the cards, they would've exploded all over the place.
When he sat down next to her, her shuffling faltered. She felt a little nervous, being that she barely knew him. It was a quirk of her personality.
"Hardly ever find anyone who can shuffle cards these days...its a gift most people care not to have..."
She nodded, agreeing. "The kids back home used to tease me because I could shuffle. It was the strangest thing to tease a kid about..." She trailed off, before he would take her as a rambling freak.
"I'm Sneaks."
She smiled lightly and put down her cards. She grasped his hand with hers, saying softly, "I'm Solitaire."

The dark haired boy walked down the block to the entrance of the tall building. He had his duffle bag slung over bag, holding it with one hand. Hiccup used his free hand and rubbed the back of his sweaty neck. He sat at the edge of the stoop, away from the crowd the others. He sighed and plopped the bag at his feet, rubbing his pained shoulder. Hiccup dug in his pocket for his cigar. He popped it in his mouth easily and started toying with his brown suspenders. He laughed softly to himself and leaned back against the wall, pulling his newsboy hat right below his brow, and closed his eyes.

Magenta was running around, looking for Lock, but couldn't find him. She had just been in Queens, and now she is back in Manhattan. Boy this kid could travel fast! As she was running past some apartments, she saw a boy sitting there, and studied him...without watching where she was going.
Tripping over something, she fell on her hands. "Ouch." Standing up, she looked at her hands, which were now scraped and bleeding. Taking a glance at the boy, she saw she was right in front of him now and gave him a shy smile.

Hiccups head snapped up when he heard the fall of the girl. He sprang to his feet in front of her. "Are you okay?" he asked, looking at the girl's bleeding hands. He gently put his hand under her's, examining the cuts. His eye's narrowed as he studied them. He quickly removed his hand from under her's and took out a ratty, worn cloth. He held it fiercely with both hands, ripping it in two. He repeating his actions until he had two long shreds of cloth. Hiccup looked back up to her sheepish smile and couldn't help but smile back softly.

She nodded her head. "Yeah, I'm alright. You don't have to help me." Magenta was very thankful for his actions, but she really didn't need help. Assuming he was just going to do it anyway, she held out her hands and smiled a little brighter at him.

"Yeah, I'm alright. You don't have to help me."
Hiccup looked down, wrapping her hand and smiling. "It's no problem. Plus, with the scars you get from these, they'll make you look tough." said Hiccup softly, tying a knot on the last hand. He looked up, clapping his hands together and resuming to play with his suspenders. He gave a toothy smile, his dark, straight hair flowing down to about his ears. "I'm Hiccup by the way." he added, chewing on his cigar once more, the taste mingling about on his taste buds. His eyes looked from her hands to her face, waiting on her reply.

Laughing a bit, she took her hand and moved his hair behind his ears. "I'm Magenta. "

"I'm Magenta. "
Hiccup felt her soft hand rub against his cheek, pushing his hair away from his face. A smile creeped onto lips as his cheeks turned a faint pink shade. "Well, Magenta. What's you and I go get somethin' to eat?" he asked kindly, putting his cigar back into his pocket. Hiccup let go of his suspenders and ran a hand through his hair, pushing it all behind his head. His pale-ish made his dark hair stand out magically, meshing with his light eyes. Hiccup used the heel of his shoe and scratched behind his leg, boringly. He looked up at Magenta

Smirking at him when he blushed a little bit, she rubbed her cheek with her hand. "Oh, I don't know. You shouldn't be spending money on me..." Looking at the ground, her face flushed. Magenta was embarrased that he would buy her lunch, he was very nice.

"Oh I don't know. You shouldn't be spending money on me..."
Hiccup smiled, raising her chin back up with his fingers. "Oh please! It's no problem!" he exclaimed. "Come on!" he pleaded. Hiccup knlet to grab his duffle bag and slung it over his shoulder once more. "You pick the place. I'm a ghost when it comes to New York." he said lightly. His free hand swayed at his side freely, while the other held onto the strap on the bag tightly, flexing the crafted muscle in his arm.
