Aria smiled, impressed. The girl did have a voice, that was to be said. She'd be a good apprentice, and in time, might be able to fill in for her when she took the day off. But it would take a good deal of schooling to make the voice completely trained; and to make sure the girl herself was ready for it.
"Good, good." She clapped her hands. "You've passed the test. I think you'll be a good addition...you'll spend the first month with the chorus girls. You have to prove to me that you can behave; after that, you'll be moved up into a solo position."

A solo? Now that had Naomi blinking as she took a step forward. She'd never really been outside of the chorus line, but a lot of people said it was her temperament. But not many had showed her the kind of honest respect Ariannette was doing now.
"You really think my voice can carry a show?"

Aria raised her eyebrows, laughing. "I just said a solo--won't be the whole show. You have a lot of practice and training before you can do that, mon petite." She shrugged. "But you have an excellent voice. Good quality. Much can be done with it, if you listen to me."

Augh, the listening but Naomi finally nodded and considered it.
"You show respect when you talk and you haven't spoken down to me, if you can hold this place together I obviously have something to learn from you... And a solo--" she'd always wanted one really but she hadn't been given one. There was always someone who the director liked more. And most of the time it was a man. It's why she liked Caprice Hall and Irving Hall so much. The women ran them and they understood.
"I'll listen, I want to get better.." it was honesty for the first time in a long time.

"Good." Aria smirked. "I'm not completely easy to work with. I demand perfection; but it makes my company the best in the business here in New York. I wouldn't say these things unless they were true. Don't forget that. But don't think you are any better than others; my chorus girls are good as well. They just don't always have an extra spark."

She nodded as she listened to the woman. "Honestly, Ms. LaFleur I don't really think I'm better than most but I'm proud of what I do and I'll fight for everything I have and can ever keep hold of. " She had a mouth on her and for that she tended to get into trouble. She'd told plenty of Prima Dona's they sang like harpies.

Aria smirked. "Well that is why I'm the owner and the Prima Donna." She liked the girl's spunk though. "But passion goes a long way. Singing can be taught. That sort of passion can't. That's enough for me."

She nodded her head, this woman seemed to deserve her Prima Donna status. Other's slept there way up the ladder. Naomi wasn't apposed to a relationship of that type but she wasn't about to use that to get her anywhere. After all, being will Paulie did nothing of the sort for her career. But it was working on making her happy.
"Passion is something I've never been in short supply of..."

Aria smiled. "Good. Well, I suppose you can go. We'll fit you for a costume later. My Maestro will be most likely who you will deal with your first few weeks. I have a daughter to take care of, as well as the normal business. My hands are quite full."

"It's alright I don't really mind and I'll try to watch my tongue.." and her language. If the woman had a child she'd best be watching her language though Miss Ariannette didn't look like she had children at all.

"Watch that you do." She smiled. "Well its all settled. And please, call me Aria. I don't believe in true formalities."

"Alright Aria," she nodded her head again. "What-- time should I--?" She needed to know, she wasn't going to move, she liked the Bronx-- and her the guy down the hall.

"Eight A.M. tomorrow, please. Gives you time to get fitted before the start of choral practice at nine." She checked her watch. "And please, no more wandering about for at least a week." She flashed a smile. "I have to be going."

Naomi was already headed for the door and she nodded when she got there, "Eight, and-- thank you Aria. I'll turn in my resignation to Medda. I've always been one for healthy competition and this seems to be a lot of fun..." With that she was gone, waving her goodbye. The woman had a lot of dreams and ambition. She was thinking she might actually be able to be more then just what people wanted her to be.
