Jack sighed. This was already going down the wrong direction. "Maybe they would--we ain't ever really tried dat--I mean, why would a strike work again? Clearly it didn't work the first time!" He ran a hand through his hair, annoyed. "We's getting old, Spot. We can't do this forever."

Spot raised an eyebrow. "...dats true, Kelly. But whys you really not wantin' to strike? Is it because you don't think its good for your newsies, or dat its not good for you?" He crossed his arms over his chest, looking hard at the other leader. "Talkin' aint gonna hit them where it hurts." He smirked. "Whats you want to do...is talk. Clearly yous aint been talkin' to your brain. Cause yous soundin' stupid right now, Kelly."
He'd had it, frankly. A lot had changed in the past year.

Jack clenched his jaw, tightening his hands on his legs. He wasn't going to get into a fist fight with Spot. That's exactly what he'd want, anyways. "...You are right. I haven't been talking to David. I figured I would come to you first. Respect."
He stood up, making sure he was standing a full head above Spot. "I always think about my newsies first, Spot. Dis is about them. This isn't about what you and I want--its about them." He shook his head firmly. "And you's right. I was stupid. Stupid for comin' here first. I'll see you at the leaders table, Spot. We're not gonna get nuthin done talking like this."

"No we aren't, Kelly." Spot didn't move. "And we will talk. I's ain't budging this time, Cowboy. Know that." He wasn't. He had made too many concessions over the years. This was where he put his foot down. He wasn't about to back down again.

(sorry Jack but I had to do this)
New Day
Bear walked into the Lodging house grinning like a maniac, which he pretty much was, a maniac in love. He took the stairs two at a time, whistling a jolly tune to himself. He stopped in front of Spot's door. His smile faded a little, would Spot let him leave the Lodging House? He knocked on the door and called out, "Hey Spot, I'se gotta talk ta ya. It's important."
