Dragon spit into her had and held it out to Dot, if she refused then Dragon would know if she was like The Walking Mouth before he was fully transformed into a newsie or like Jack who was just born to be a newsie.

Firecracker started blushing furiously at what Dragon said, hoping Dot didn't hear. "No Dragon, she's my friend!" He whispered harshly into her ear.

Dot was standing next to Firecracker and could hear everything that they were saying to each other. When Dragon asked if she was Firecracker's girl friend Dot blushed and it was a good thing that it was dark, cause if it was light out then they would of been able to see her blushing like crazy.

"So... umm do you guys want to start heading toward the lodging house?" asked Dragon. "Its gettin kinda late" said Dragon trying to avoid the subject of Firecracker finding out who she likes.
