He nodded again. "Always has been huh? Surely you've ventured beyond the Docks of Brooklyn... you must really like it here to stick around." He had to think of something... he was curious to learn more about the Brooklyn girl he didn't know. Then it occured to him. He pulled out a deck of cards and started to shuffle them. "You play?" he asked as though it were just a casual question. He continued shuffling as though it was just something for his hands to do.

Her eyes latched onto the cards and then back at him, lifting her chin a bit and a soft smirk settled on her face. "Aye, I been all over this city but Brooks is my home. No place like it in the world--" she trailed a bit. "And Aye.. I play... how about a little game?" She'd been dying for a game for awhile now. People were starting to float to the underground games and she wanted to know more about them.

"Sure, sounds reasonable..." he said with a smirk as he kept shuffling. Sounded like this girl might even be a gambler. And if not, she sure did enjoy her go fish. "What's your game?"

She leaned back, studying him critically. "Depends on the player, but I prefer poker to any other game out there.." She folded her arms across her chest and watched him, dark eyes watching his face, wondering what his game was. There were games in life, ones that people played without knowing. She wanted to know what his was exactly. "But what's your dish?"

He shrugged. "I aim to please," he spoke honestly. "Happy ta play poker Miss Lucky," he said with a small smile. He dealt the cards to the two of them before he sat the deck down. He picked up his cards, and the smile that he put on his face was now stuck there as if by super glue.

She laughed, he was that kind of player. Not the kind that scowled at the cards whether good or bad. But the one that smiled threw it all so no one knew the wiser. She picked up her cards, organizing them in her hand as she got comfortable in her chair. As far as Lucky knew she didn't have a tell, and her hand wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. She ran over his name in her head, Avalanche... "Aye.. I remember hearing about you.. ran with that little Queens twit.. Dusty right?" Only Queens girl that Lucky ever felt had any salt was Prince. And that was because they were friends AND she was the only female leader. She wasn't friendly, there was no nasty tone in her voice as if the insult was just a common part of her speech.

"For a while... she... well... she kinda... eh," he said with a shrug making conversation. He let his smile slip as he rolled his eyes a little, but only because of her chosen topic. He didn't like talking about girls. He was rather picky when it came to them... and he'd never been able to find one that he really liked. Never really knew why. But his smile was back in moments. "So... ya have heard of me huh? Glad to know I'm famous." He rearranged his cards a little. He didn't have to bad of a hand. Coulda been better... but he plays with the hand he's dealt... always had before.

"You're Dodger's mate.." she said with a shrug. "He's practically family to me, the two of us have been together since we were small... that he wears.. it was my Papa's..." and had once been hers. She tossed out to cards and waved him on. She was a conversational player, she would rather the talking. She looked at him critically. "He said you were a good bloke... and he liked your jokes."

Avalanche chuckled and handed her a few cards in exchange, and sat down a few of his own and picked up as well. "Great, I'm a comidian... I'll add that to my list of jobs," he said with a playful smirk. "I've been told I'm a funny guy b'fore, but not by anyone that's such a good card player." He was going to start with beautiful... but then realized she wouldn't take that well... or thought she would. His mind went through compliments, and thought card player to be the most destinguished in her book.

Beautiful might get him decked, she didn't know how to handle compliments like those unless it was Sneaks. Her thoughts turned to him briefly before back to the game, she held out her hand. She had three of a kind, tens. "Thanks, I tend to think I'm one of the best in New York.." One of the best, not THE best. "I'm a gambler by nature."

He chuckled and laid down two two's and a couple of 3's. "Well, ya good enough ta beat me. There are those in this city who'd pay for ya secrets," he smirked and pulled the cards together. "Again, or shall we forget the game, and keep with the conversation, or would ya like ta play another hand?" he asked.

"I tend to talk bettah when my hands are busy..." It was true, she had some of her best conversations over a pint of a game of cards. But the conversation didn't bother her none. "Aye? I'd never sell my secrets, I'll pass them onto my babies.."

"Ah," he said as he shuffled. "So... they'll be the one's gettin' rich off your old tricks," he said with a smirk before he dealt the cards again. "So, you wanna have children then?" he said taking the assumption and runnin'. He was tempted to ask about a boy... maybe later... he was interested now though.

She raised a brow, "Aye, don't most girls?" She didn't seem like most girls at all, but she did have some of their foolish dreams. Like love, a family, a home that would stay and always be there. She took the hand and arranged the cards, they weren't gambling for money which was a pity. But, he wanted to get to know her she didn't complain to loudly about that anymore.

Ave wasn't in the mood to play for money anyway... though he would have if she would have asked... well maybe. "Well... heh, I guess yeah. Dun think I'd met a girl who don't... but then again I ain't sure about that either," he said as he looked at his hand. Great... load of junk, but one couldn't tell with the expression that he kept on his face. "So... is there a guy you'd... well is ther a guy you like??" he asked nonchalantly. Just... adding to the conversation. Though he'd considered asking if she'd like to have kids with the guy... but... decided to leave that part out.
