"Actually no," she replied "But, I always have wanted to go, what about you, you ever been?" she asked him. "My brother wants to be a jockey. He really likes em to ya know." 8chips wiped her face with a napkin.

"Oh yea, me and Race have gone, ya know," Dutchy shrugged and slid the book back over, "I'll take you one day... if you want. And Twitch."

8chips picked at her napkin and grinned sheepishly. "How did you know my brother's name?" she asked, "Did I tell you that?" she fought hard to remember, but she could not and so she sighed. "That would be lovely though!" she really did like horses, and thought she would enjoy it, Twich would be to.

"Nah, but... I've met him... It was a while ago and I haven't seen much of him since..." Dutchy looked a little worried, "Is he alright? You know... with.. work and everything?"

((New Day))
Bumlets had needed to get out of the lodging house and away from all the women-- not to mention every time he'd tried to be alone-- the ladies swarmed. He was starting to blame Blink for it really, but he sighed over his hot dog. At times the clucking got so loud and the noise that he just wanted to be left alone. He blew his hair out of his eyes and looked around-- at least Tibby's was quiet.

Manhattan stared at her pencil, twirling it around and around on her pad of paper, watching it create weird sqiggles, absolutely bored out of her mind. It was the down time between lunch rush and dinner rush. The only other person in the room was another Manhattan Newsie that she thought was named Bumlets. stretching her back she eased into a chair across the table from the boy and asked the same question she asks every customer that comes through Tibby's doors. "Can i get ya anythin else?"

He looked up at her and raised a brow, a small smile crossed his face. He recognized her, she'd saved Jack's hide not to long ago. He nodded at her, "Uh yeah-- another water please?" He didn't want to go back to the Lodging House just yet--- to many people Mabel had been right and it was driving him to distraction. It wasn't like it hadn't been a titch crowded with all the boys but all those girls now? It was hectic.

Manhattan nodded got up grabbed the pitcher from the cooler and brought it back to the table along with balancing 2 pieces of pie on plates. "On the house" she said 'If ya let me sit for a bit, my feet are killing me and you're just about the only person in heah worth sittin with." She said grinning cuz they both knew they were the only ones here except for the cooks in the back. Manhattan waved one next to her nose "MMMmmm...They sure look good?" she said good naturely.

He shook his head with a soft smile and offered her the seat, he didn't mind really. It wasn't to crowded now. He accepted the pie and poured himself some water. "Have a seat, Manhattan..."

She nodded her thanks and began eating her pie. "MMMmmmm ya know i didnt actually know if this was any good but its not half bad." she eased her shoes off and rubbed the arch of her foot on the back of the other foot. Finishing off her slice she grinned crookedly "Didnt know i was well known in Manhttan" she said intrigued that he knew her name but content none the less to sit and enjoy the quiet and the taste of pie still in her mouth.

He shrugged and went to eating his pie, agreeing with a slight nod that it wasn't bad. "I listen," he responded quietly. He was a quiet person and his boom stick handle was sitting in the chair beside him. He never went anywhere without it anymore, if he ran into trouble he could use it to help fight and it came off pretty intimidating.

"yeah, well thanks Bumlets." she said "I'm not on many of the new newsies good sides with the stunt i pulled earlier this week in Jacks room." she grinned crookedly and pulled a napkin out of the napkin dispenser and began writing on it. The broom stick handle forefront in her minds eye. Quiet with words yet the quiet grace belied the strength in him. His quietness unnerved many around him and so he sat alone... picking up her pencil she didnt know where to go with it. It wasnt like she knew Bumlets well so she didnt know how well to depict him.

He lifted his eyes and shrugged, finishing off his pie and taking a drink from the glass of water. "You bailed out Jack, he was a little to over whelmed.." Like he'd said before he paid attention, he watched people and didn't say a whole lot. She knew better than most did about that--

Manhattan grinned she did the exact same thing, she listened, its how she wrote. "The lodgin house is gettin a bit crowded, i think da women out way da men. Its a bit intense." she picked up her fork and licked the crumbs off of it. "Jack looked a bit in trouble so i knew i had ta try something." She shrugged and drew a glass of water for herself. "the girls were like vultures. I'm a little knew but seriously whats with that."

He nodded in full agreement, "A part of me accepts it as progress and the other half of me wants to move to the roof.." Bumlets shook his head and took another drink from his water and settled in his seat, watching her quietly. "With a padlock on the door."
