Refraining herself from commenting on his calling her mam she sighed in relief as he left her side. When she finally got her slice, and made sure they knew how long she'd been waiting, she turned to find a place to sit. ah shit.

Peem looked at her and waved over. "I saved this for you...I wont sit with you if you dont want me to...but I figured I should grab this while you were waiting so you might actually have a chance to sit down." He shrugged. "And to make up for the fact I bumped into you."

She inwardly sighed, she never should have come here in the first place. "Fine, great, thanks." She took the seat across from him, hoping he was all talked out. Picking up her slice she began eating, and then decided it was a good thing she came.

Peem shrugged and picked up his own slice eating it in silence. It was clear the girl didn't want to talk--but at least she wasn't being really venemous towards him. He was just trying to be nice.

After downing her pizza in record time she leaned back in her chair to digest. Feeling a bit more garrulous on a full stomach she eyed the overly friendly boy with an eyebrow raised. "So I take it you're from around heah?"

Peem shrugged. "Bronx. And hmm.." He looked at her evenly. "Brooklyn for you?"

A proud smirk spread across her face as she sipped at her water. "What was it? My charming personality?" Remembering that she didn't like this guy she replaced her smirk with a apathetic stare.

Peem shrugged. "...You Brooklyn kids just have an air around ya...you guys have it better together than any other newsies."

"Yeah, we do," she said matter-o-factly, a small grin turning up the corner of her lips. "An' you Bronx kids sure are . . . well ya aint exactly go gettahs huh?" She really didn't think much of the Bronx newsies, most of her outside friends being from Manhattan. She wasn't trying to offend, but didn't care if she did.

Peem shrugged. "...Yeah..we are more layed back." He took another bite of his pizza. "...I try to be a bit more...'go getter' as you put it...gotta help family." He tried not to run on, knowning that her even talking was lucky.

"Family huh?" She knew this guy was a total softie, it's always the family kids that don't understand real life. "So ya got a muddah, faddah, whole woiks huh?" Unlike most orphans, she didn't envy these kids at all, and it took a lot for her to attempt to keep the disdain from her voice as she spoke.

Peem shook his head. "Nope. Just me mum, and a little brother and others depending on who decides to drop by. We have an open door policy to most kids." Blaize lived with him, Dodger occasionally.
He shrugged. "Dad died long time ago. So nope, Not the works." IT didn't bug him much. He was happy with his family. He and his mother worked very hard to keep their home.

"I see," she said, leaning back in her chair and staring out the window. The mere thought of the Brooklyn Lodging house having an open door policy nearly brought a grin to her face. Standing to leave she paused by the table, giving him a small nod. "Well, thanks for da seat."

Peem shrugged. "No problem. And not that you'd ever need it, but if the world reversed its order and you needed anythin, I'm always around Bronx."

She had a that's-never-gonna-happen smirk, but gave him a small nod. "Shore, an hey, anyone in Brooklyn gives ya any trouble I got your back alrigh'?" She wasn't sure why she was offering so much to this stranger, but he seemed to bring out the fraction of her being that was still considered a nice girl. "See ya 'round."
