Peem raised an eyebrow. "Worried someone gonna come up and jump ya, love?" He smiled. "Me brother is younger than I...only 9."

She gave him a soft smile, "Well if I dive under the table, you'll know I saw someone I didn't want to see." She laughed a bit. "Really? Wow, I've got seven older brothers, I'm the baby of the lot and the only girl.."

((New Day))
Prince and Jack came into Tibby's and sat down at the corner table near the back. Prince relaxed when she was inside. How often did her father come to a place like this anyway? She smiled at him. "So... what cha got planned for Christmas?" she asked.

Jack laughed. "Yeasyeas...but tha real question is whatcha gettin' for me, right?" He smiled and looked at the menu, more out of habit than anything--he knew the whole thing by heart.

"That ain't a question. And if it is, I already know the answer," she said picking up the menu herself, and glancing over it. She didn't know it as well as Jack did... but she was getting closer to haveing it memorized. For now, she was hiding a small smirk behind it, instead of really looking at it.

Jack leaned forward, peeking at her over her menu. "And what exactly is dis answer o' yours, Mary?" He hadn't ever really been given anything by anyone--he was more than a little curious.

Prince's mischevious eyes looked back at him. "Do not open until Christmas," were the only words she said before her eyes looked at him a few moments longer, then moved back down at the menu.

Prince ordered herself a cup of soup and handed the waiter a menu. It'd be pleanty for her. "Then you'll just have to wait until tomorrow then, won't you?" she asked with a smile to him.

Jack let out a huge mock sigh and pouted a bit. "Okay..." He bit his lip. He wasn't going to tell her today--no. He just...he just couldn't. He stretched. "So had any almost run ins with your father?"

Prince shook her head. "Nope!" she said with a broad smile. "I ain't even seen the guy around, it's been great. It's like he's given up on me completely," which to her was like a dream to her, and surely it was too good to be true. "How about you? Been stayin' outta trouble?" she asked with a smirk.

Jack sighed and nodded. "Me? Best I can ya know..." He leaned over and took her hand, squeezing it a bit. "...I'm real glad I gotcha, Mary. And even if somethin' happens...I ain't leavin' ya..." Wasn't an exact lie, really.

She smiled to him, and she believed him, but something was amiss. "I'm glad I got youse too, Jack. Ya know youse been real... I dunno. Not different, no bad jus'... affectionate recently. Any reason?" she asked
