Salem raised her eyebrows, "You can hold that out for as long as you like. It'll give your arm a nice work out. Enjoy that."
She looked over to him, "Well, Mr. Conlon, shockingly, that doesn't make me want to give you my name." She turned her head at the sound of someone shouting to her from across the room. She rolled her eyes, stomping off to the bar and filling several glasses.
She carried the drinks to the other side of the room, passing Spot's table as she went, "But if you feel that inclined to get me fired, tell him Salem, and be sure that he kisses your cane before kicking me onto the streets." She smirked, making her way to the other table.

Spot laughed a bit. "Aye...I will." He put his cane down, finishing his beer. Well, that had been amusing. The girl had just the right bit of snark without him wanting to harm her. A smirk still played on his lips as he left her a tip, heading out the door.

((NEW DAY))
Skittery wandered into the bar and rushed to an empty table. He was starving for solitude - people could be so irritating - but a stiff drink was too tempting even when in one of his moods. He threw his coat on the other chair at table, attempting to make it look occupied so no one would be kind enough to join him.

Smalls walked into the crowded pub, looking for a place to sit... she was not in the mood to wait. Seeing a familiar Manhattan face she walked over, ignoring the coat hanging on the chiar. "Tricks like dat don' work in heah Skitts, you oughta know that by now." She pulled out two cigarettes and lit them, sticking one in her mouth and holding the other out to him.

Skittery cocked his head to look at smalls, glaring slightly. "Well it was worth a try.." He responded lamely eying the cig. He didn't really want to bothered with small talk, leaving was always an option but the little tube of tobacco was so tempting. He pulled it from her hand and pressed it between his lips, "At least yer payin' the tax on that seat.." He said flicking the cigarette toward the other chair.

She gave him a small nod, taking a drag on her cigarette. After a few minutes of silence she glanced back at him, cocking her head slightly. "So what ya doin' in Brooklyn? 'Hattan pubs not crowded enough for your taste? I know how ya love ta socialize," she said wryly, leaning back in her chair.

"Didn't realize I had to check in as I crossed the bridge.." He said matching her sarcasm and tapping the ash of his cigarette onto the pub floor. Skittery took another drag before continuing, "'Jus felt like commin' by to see my good pal Conlon." He flashed her a sassy little smile. He didn't owe her an explanation for anything.

"Well 'xcuse me for askin'," she said with a smirk, amused by his never-ending attitude. If it were anyone else she'd be fuming at what he'd said, but being the town grump it was expected. Turning her gaze elsewhere she continued puffing at her cigarette, watching the full pub swell with drunks.

"...so polite for A brooklynite..."He mumbled and rolled his eyes, glad she wasn't pressing him further. Skittery looked away from her and started to pull some change from his pocket. He lined the coins up in a neat little row as he counted under his breath. When satisfied he waved for the barmaid and placed an order for some rum.

Smalls watched him count out his change, debating getting herself a drink. She usually just came here for the atmosphere, but a few drinks wouldn't hurt...
Ordering a shot of whiskey she downed it in a gulp, sliding the empty glass to the edge of the table to be picked up or refilled -- she'd take either.

Skittery was presented with a shot of rum about the same moment that Smalls was with whiskey. He watched her throw it back and slide the glass to the edge of the table. He laughed, a little puff of smoke coming out of his nostrils.
"Doesn't look like the bottle's a stranger to you, Smalls" He took his own shot, but didn't get rid of his glass. It was either time to stop or blow his pocket - he know it would be better to walk home with his wits and know how to stay warm, or none at all when the cold wasn't an issue.

She gave him a waggish grin as her glass was refilled. "Nah, we go way back," she said with a smirk, eyeing her next drink. "You already done heah?" she asked, the slightest hint of a challenge in her tone.

Skittery raised an eyebrow and studied her face for a moment. Maybe this could be interesting. He pushed his glass to the edge of the table and indicated for both of them to be filled with the cheap stuff. He looked back at Smalls with a crooked smile, "Lets see if Brooklyn's really got anythin' on 'hatten, eh?"

Her grin broadened, this night could be fun yet. Placing her elbow on the table she leaned her head in her hand, the other pulling her drink closer. "When you schmucks gonna learn huh?" She leaned back, dropping the drink down her throat. "Brooklyn always wins."
She wasn't stupid, Skittery was about double her size and obviously not knew to drinking. It was very likely that she would pass out before he even got a bit tipsy, but hey, more fun for her.

Skittery laughed grabbing his hand around the small glass, "Yeah yeah, so you guys are always reminding' us" He took the shot grimacing for a moment, that really was the cheap crap - he couldn't even identify what type of alcohol burned his throat. Smalls challenge had sealed the deal for him. After shaking it off, he smirked and pushed the glasses back for a refill. Looks like his Brooklyn wanderings were going to last a bit longer tonight..
