(( New Day ))
A giant tree! What joy! Lots of shade to be had in the... Fall... When the leaves are just begining to fall, all fragile and sap speckled onto the ground. And, also onto uncovered and hatless heads.
"Gaahh... buggering... leaves..." Swiping determindly at the brittle plantlife breaking itself into tinier bits in her hair, Slinks muttered under her breath, almost as if she were conversing with the tree. "Next time, - curses,"

Marc was on a stroll through the park when he heard some one cursing the leaves of a tree of all things. He looked over at the tree amused at the sight of a girl who seemed as though she were talking to herself. He folded his arms as he watched her from the path. "You know," he said eventually, "I hate to break it to ya, but I don't think that tree's ever gonna talk back to you."

"And if 't did, I-Dulloo there!" Spinning around to face the voice - whom, she noted gladly, was not that of the tree - Slinks took half a step back, hands dropping from her hair to her sides. Nothing like being spotted during a rather odd curse-and-brush session. "Wasn't exa'tly... dem... Hallo."

Marc laughed a little. "Hallo," he said nodding a little back, and matching her accent just for the fun of it. "If I might ask, why are you talking to and cursing the tree to begin with?" he asked as he started walking over towards her, dropping his arms to his side.

An eyebrow shooting up at the accent - Irish comming from a man who looked Italian, very, very interesting - Slinks stuffed her hands into her pockets, kicking lightly at one of the leaves that had missed her head. "Cursin' the leaves for their love of breakin' off in me hair, talking to th' tree cos I didn't figure anyone else was around to hear the gripin's of a girl tryin' to get leaf bits untangled from 'er 'air."
"And if y' don't mind me askin', what would bring one such 's yerself to talk to the girl speakin' with the plant life?"

He changed his accent at the drop of a hat. He was able to pick up accents that way. Now it was the accent common to the city, New York. "B'cause ya look like ya needed da company," he said as he walked over towards her. She seemed like an interesting girl, and worth the conversation. "Was I wrong? If I was I'll go, and youse can talk to da tree again."

Slinks chuckled. A man of many voices. "I wouldna say you were wrong, boyo. Company 's fun, and while th's tree can be interesting, nothin' beats havin' a voice to respond to." She said, reaching over and patting the tree - which, to be truthful, she had no idea if she'd seen before - affectionately. "Sides, ye've come so far out of yer way..." She added, noting that a dampener on the sarcasm would be needed.

"Oh yeah real far," he said. He glanced over his shoulder at the few feet between him and the path. HOnestly that was all out of his way he had come. "And as for you? What brings you to the park on this... wonderful... fall day?" he asked with a smirk to her. He assumed she was not a fan of fall.

---New Day---
Flick was at his favorite spot, you could usually find him by this oak. He crouched down by the tree before finally sitting leaning against it. He was tired, he'd had a late night. He hadn't been able to sleep, but he didn't plan on falling asleep. His eyes drifted down but he shook his head trying to keep himself awake. This was becoming more and more difficult. He managed to stay awake for a while before his eyelids became to heavy to open again. He fell asleep.

"Here boy..." She called out to the dog. She just knew it had to be the same one from last time. He seemed to be following her and yet he wouldnt let her get near him. The dog turned and barked at her as if they wre playing and then started off again. Denim laughed and started after it not seeing the boy laying there she tripped over his legs.

Flick woke up as his legs were kicked, hard. "Ow," he said as he opened his eyes to see what had jarred him awake. "Shouldn't ya watch were ya walk, shouldn't ya?" He smiled at the girl sprawled at his feet. "Don't wanna get beat up to bad," He stood up and held out his hand to her to help the girl up.

Denim frowned a bit and turned to look where the dog had gone but it was already out of sight. She looked up at the boy she had tripped over and then at his hand. She took it as he helped her up and she gave him an appologetic look. "Im really sorry, I didnt mean to...I ..."She bit her lip, looking down at the ground, and twisted her fingers nerviously in her shirt a bit hoping he wasnt mad. When she was focusing on something everything around her seemed to disappear and thats how she always ends up lost, or on the ground from tripping over things.
