Blaize chuckled and shrugged. "Yeah... A bit actually. I'm an artist. Or well.. I want to be one." He had left his work at home, or he would have showed her. "I'm just not good enough, you know...And my mother never showed much... acceptance of what I wanted to do before she died." he nodded. "So I know where you are coming from, but really.... That wasn't good?" He gestured at the stage. "I disagree." His eyes glittered. "...Do it again."

Giselle smiled slightly, standing somewhat painfully. She made her way back to the center of the stage, a bit frightened to be trying this again. She couldn't do it the first time, or twentieth...and she'd already made a fool of herself once. "The same routine, I assume?" she asked, looking at him.

"Yes. But look at me." Blaize waited until she was. "Do it for yourself, and not because you are told to. It's you the one dancing, not them. It has to be for you, or it won't work at all." He knew these things. Maybe they hadn't started out for dance, but it would work.

((Sorry this took a bit, I was staying at a friends house for a few nights.)) Giselle nodded, watching him as she stretched herself out a bit. She nodded at various intervals when he was speaking, and again when she was sure he was done. "All right, that makes sense." she said, standing up straight and beginning her dance. She came down a bit roughly from one of her poses, but continued on. That kind of mistake wouldn't really affect the performace, and it wasn't even that ungraceful. It probably had happened because she was physically exhausted, but she didn't care at this point.

(its okay...though I should say it back at you. ^_^ )
Blaize watched her. Taking into consideration she was completely exhausted - even he could tell - she was really good. He didn't see what the problem was, not at all. He couldn't dance... well he could, but not like that.

Giselle came down to the near end of the performance, having done rather well other then a few minor things. No falling this time, she was glad to find... her last spill had hurt a lot. She sighed and smiled as she came down, freezing in the final pose before returning to the stage flat-footed. She looked to Blaise, "How was it?"

"Amazing from my point of view." Blaize said truthfully, smiling at her. "I don't see the problem people are having with you... That was beautiful." He had no reason to lie, nor would he. If people weren't seeing her performance for what it was...

Giselle smiled in return, "Thank you... I'm glad you think so..." She said, walking back to where he was. She took a seat on the edge of the stage, again, "To tell you the truth thats the best I've done in a while...although I did still mess up a few times." she said, sighing softly.

"I didn't see them." Blaize admitted, chuckling. He gave her a soft shrug that could mean everything and nothing. "But hey...if you dance like that, for you, I don't think they could complain. You're just tired, that's all."

Giselle smiled, pushing a stray strand of hair back behind her ear. "You know your one of the only people who's been halfway decent to me since I got into this city?" she asked. "I mean, you've been more then halfway decent, but.... do you know what I mean?" she asked tiredly, confusing herself.

Blaize blinked, eyebrow rising. "Well, then you've seen some terrible people. I have a nice group of friends, I'm fortunate for it, I guess." He grinned a bit. "Where were you before?" He asked, curious.

She shrugged, sure...she had met some off people since she was here. But that didn't matter now that she was in good company, at least for the moment. "France," she said with a sigh. "My parents just went back not long ago, maybe six months? They left me with my apartment... and its nearly impossible for me to afford. But I've slipped by, fortunatly...the landlord is really very kind, he understands my problem." she said. "Have you always lived in New York?"

Blaize shook his head slowly. "I came here... not too long ago, actually. A year." Felt like it, though, and it threw him off for a bit. He really thought himself a New Yorker now, even if he still had his British accent. "My mother and I were drifters, by no choice of mine." He grinned a bit. It was the past. "She ran me ragged through England, and then decided all of a sudden to pack us up and move us here. She died a few weeks after we arrived here." He ran his fingers through his hair. "It's not too bad here, though I was lucky. I stay with a friend and his family."

Giselle nodded, feeling as though this should have occured to her. She had noted his accent when he'd first began talking but had otherwise brushed it off. "I'm sorry about your mother... but I'm glad you found someone to stay with." she frowned, wondering why her parents would leave her alone with a huge, expensive apartment that she would probably lose anyway. She pushed that thought from her head, offering a slight smile again.

"It's all right. It took a few things to snap into place before I found out where I belonged." Blaize offered up a small smile, before he caught the look in her eyes. "I think you're trying too hard." He said then. "And not just at the dancing. You're trying too hard at life in general. You need to loosen up, live a little. Eat some cake." He grinned again. "You're going to get a line down here." He touched her brow lightly. "from wondering why and worrying so much."
