Spot ordered a pint of irish beer, sitting down in one of the large chairs at the fireside. He put his cane by his side, removing his hat, ruffling his hair out so it didn't have the 'hat hair' look.
He took a sip, quickly regarding the others in the bar. No sign of those...Raconteurs. Or Red, who usually drowned his sorrows after a row with Fancy. Strange...
He turned his mind back to his new bodyguard.

Trigger entered soon after Spot and saw him by the fire. He made his way towards him and sat down on a nearby chair. They had planned to meet here to discuss the general goings on so that Trigger might actually be of some use. He took no drink but also removed his hat. He leaned back on the chair momentarily, then turned his attention to Spot. The Brooklyn leader. Trigger was a new member of the Brooklyn newsies and had soon been named to be Spot's bodyguard.

Spot smiled a bit. "...if you want somehting, order it. The bartender here won't make ya pay--its a understanding we've come to." He took another sip of his drink.
"So...what brought you to Brooks, anyways? Death, famine, boredum?" He watched the other carefully, but was a bit more at ease than he had been over the past week.

Trigger shrugged. "I'm okay, thanks though. I'll keep that in mind." He paused to think about Spot's question.
"Family mostly." He shrugged again. "They kicked me out, though I coulda gone anywhere, I 'ad always had the desire to be in Brooklyn, the live the newsie life. My parents knew that and they wern' too happy with that. 'ought I should be in school or somethin'."

Spot snorted. "...school is over rated. Doesn't teach ya what ya need to know about livin'. Book smarts are cheap."
He lit a cigarette, takin' a drag. "...well sure, but why be willin' to die for my burrough? One that ain't yours?" He wanted to make sure this kid wouldn't back down when push came to shove. "...thing's are gettin messy around here."

Trigger didn't answer for a minute. He just had in his blood to fight for what he stood for. "I've hoid a lot about Brooklyn. You know, they ain't exaggeratin' when they say that you are the most famous newsie. But I didn't come here for fame."
He paused. "I came here because I believe that this is where I can do somethin' with my life, where I might be of some use, and to stand by Spot Conlon. Well I'd be lyin' if I said that wasn' an added boinus." He grinned.
"You don't have nothin' ta worry about Spot. I won't leave ya hangin' when things get bad, it just ain't in me blood." He ran his fingers through his hair breifly, then turned back ta Spot. Finally giving in he ordred a drink, the bartender bringing him a strong beer. He took a swig and looked down into the fire, thinking about all that he could do, all the Brooklyn could do to fight when it came the time.

Spot nodded. "...I'm not going to lie. Things are gettin...difficult here. And...one of my..other bodyguards has disappointed me greatly." He took a big gulp of his beer.
"..I'm not going to tolerate any disappointment or weakness. I won't stand for it anymore."
He played with the top of his cane. "...I expect nothing less than fully loyalty and honesty--so far you have given both." He paused. "...I'll be fully assured when you come to prove it in a situation, but right now, you have my confidence."
...so he may have been a bit swayed by the compliments that weren't coming from a suck up. Not bad at all.
"I suppose you'd like to know what is...causing the difficulties, no?"

Trigger listened intently to Spot as he spoke of loyalty and disappointment. Trigger would make sure that that never happened. He was curious as to what happened to the other bodyguard but he did not ask.
"Yea, I think it would be useful to know what's going on. I can't do much to help otherwise." It was a casual comment, he simply wanted to be able to do the service he so desired to do.

Spot chuckled softly. "Good. Got brains too." He paused. "...There is a group. The Raconteurs...they are working here in our burrough...I think the other's as well. Takin' my kids and makin' them theives." His eyes darkened, as he drank a bit more of his beer.
"...threatened me, told me to leave off." A dark smile spread across his face. "...they have no idea who they trifled with. He looked at Trigger. "...they will try and move against me, but I don't how, just yet."

Trigger nodded. "So do we know who they are? Can we spot them by sight. Or is it one of those trust no one situation?" He asked, leaning forward on his chair, eyes focused on Spot.

"Trust no one." He took a drag off his cigarette. "...I know what one looks like...but now that my kids may be with them--can't trust most of my kinds now, can I?"
He paused. "...may have told you too much, as well." He smirked. "I assure you, I'm not harsh..but if you fail me, you'll meet the end of my cane. Like my last bodyguard."

Trigger nodded again. "You know times are rough when can't even trust your own bois." he sighed. "So, out of curiousity. What did your last bodyguard do?"
He thought about those who would go against Spot. How stupid can they be? Especially his own boys, they should have known that going against him would only lead to a world of pain.

Spot paused. "...said he would burn down Brooklyn and me...for a damn goil." He paused. "...A goil who crossed me once before. He ignored my orders...and crossed the line."
He finished his cigarette. "You'll meet is brother, Blade. Still a loyal bodyguard."

He shook his head. "Goils, they cause nothin' but trouble. Most of um anyways." He sighed again. "So, Blade huh? Sounds good."
He stopped talking and took another large gulp of his beer. Then put his hat back on his head. He looked to Spot, "So, what do we do now?"
