"...Red?" Aria's voice sound a bit strained. "...Red where's Clare?" She had just dealt with Flanna and Ace. She wasn't feeling that great, either.

Red bit his lip hard, "He's not here, Aria....Are you all right?" He juggled the phone in the crook of his arm as he peered out the window, hoping to see the officer.

Aria's voice fell. "Oh...No. Well..this is all I have." She seemed to be distracted. "I'm...its not me." She bit her lip and lowered her voice. "...they cut off a girl..some newsie's finger." She was sudenn;y distracted again and she seemed to be talking to someoen else "No nothing...just clearing my throat."
She turned her voice back to the phone. "...Just a bit disgusted."

Red was silent for a few seconds, "Im sorry, Aria." That sorry went for so much...For not finding her yet, for not getting her out of there, for letting her get taken in the first place. For what she had to go through every second she was there. "We're working on it, but every end is a dead one."

"Trust me, i'll be as caredul as i know how to be." Which for Red, wasn't all that much to begin with. "Im going to get you out of there, Aria....You know i dont know how to do this medicine right." He tried to make it light between them, even though his eyes were flaring.

A man came on the line. "Time's up."
And the line went dead.

A string of words no child should ever hear, much less know, came from Red's lips as he hung up the phone, running his hands through his hair. Damn it. Carter was not going to be pleased with him, but what else could he do?

Clarence walked in as Red hung up the phone. The boy could swear like a sailor.
"What's going on Red, somethings got you fired up." He set his small bag of groceries on the counter and went to set down and take his shoes off.

"That was Arianette." He sighed, turning to him. "You just missed her by like two minutes. She's doing all right, and i told her that we're working on getting to her as soon as possible." He licked his dry lips, something telling him this wasnt going to go over all that well.

"Do what?" He couldn't believe he missed her phone call.
He stood then, "Why didn't you get me, I was just downstairs!" Clarence was fuming, upset at himself that he had stopped to chat with the stage manager and missed Arianette, and fuming becuase Red hadn't called for him.

Red threw up his hands, "Like i knew where you were!" His eyes flashed a little, "Look, im sorry, but at least i was here to get it." He sighed, shaking his head, "Im sorry, Carter, but dont yell at me."

"But still! You could have yelled or tried, or something!!!" He wasn't in a rage but his face was slowly getting redder and redder.
"Get out!, Take your medicine and get out of this apartment Collin." He pointed towards the door. He just wanted him to go, and to leave his sight before he did something stupid.

Red's mouth fell open a bit. "Excuse me? ....You want me to get out?" Licking his dry lips, he nodded, "Fine. I'll go, but..." He couldn't even finish the statement and just shook his head angrily. "I was only trying to help you and Aria, you ungrateful son of a bitch." Grabbing his things, he stormed toward the door, slamming it behind him with a harsh sense of finality.
