Lucky chuckled and then shrugged.
"It's not all that exciting really. My parents met on the boat, my dad was from Italy and had a stop on England, my mother was Romanian heading for the new world." She furrowed her brow as she tried to remember how her father had told her the story. "They fell in love and came to New York, my dad was a gambler, top rate, my mom was a Romani gypsy. She was one of the most amazing women I'd ever met. She died when I was little, after that my Pop dressed me up like a boy and took me into the gambling halls with him. He said he'd rather not abandon all he had left of his wife, and he wanted me close."
Lucky shrugged again as she looked out the window. "He got shot during a card game, accused a man of cheating, got him shot in the back.." She looked at Ariannette a moment then gave her a grin. "My folks were good people, I was lucky to have them while I did."

Aria smiled sadly. "Tis better to have good parents for a short time, then horrid parents all your life."
She finished the food, setting the soup down in front of Lucky, long with a half of crusty bread. "My father is a good man...but my mother..." She shook her head and laughed softly. "I already told you baout that hough..."
She pat Lucky shoulder a bit. "Eat up."

Lucky sniffed the soup and her stomach did a jig, she was starving. "Thanks, Aria. And, I'm sorry you're Mama is such a beast, but in my experience, people like her generally get what's coming to them. May not be when they deserve it, but it always comes."
She dug in, soup, cheese and bread. Who could really ask for more? She smiled at Aria. "You are a great cook, thanks.."

Aria smiled and ate a bit herself. "Thanks for the compliment."
She shook her head. "I wish my mother no ill will...She is a product of France, and her mother before her...you can not blame that. I was lucky to get a great father."

Lucky nodded in full agreement. "I'm glad I had Pop, I wouldn't be nearly as strong as I am without him around to teach me how to take care of myself. He always said that no matter if I was a girl or not the only person who decided my worth was me."
And she'd loved her Pop more then anything, and was happy that she'd had him. She couldnt' understand a woman like Aria's mom, but then again. She didn't have any basis for comparison really. Her mom had been gone by the time she was eight years old.
"You are a far better woman than I am," Lucky said honestly. "If I feel slighted.. I go for blood."

Aria shook her head and finished her soup, eating the bread a bit, the baby seeming to settle down a bit, probably happy for the food too.
"Nay...I am not better..just different...and seasoned by years." She smiled. "You're young Lucky.Your temper will cool...and allow people to have their faults a bit more."

Lucky smirked a bit, "I let people have there faults all they like I just don't want them shoved down my throat.." She smiled a bit, knowing the wisdome in Aria's words. ".. You're right I suppose, I'll grow up a bit, mellow out." she laughed as she thought about it. Wondering what she'd be like in five years, she laughed a bit. "Aria, what do you think you'll be doing in five years?"

Aira shrugged. "I haven't known you very long, Lucky." She paused. "But if you are like i think you are...probably married and happy...doing what I don't know."
She paused. "But the most important thing, I think..is that you'll be happy."

Lucky thought about that, married? her? she was only 16. But then again. She chuckled a bit, never know what could happen in five years. She'd be 21 and who knew.
"You'll be a good mama, Aria," she said after a time, finishing off her soup. ".. you're a great cook and you listen. I don't think you kid could ask for a better mama."

Aria paused. "Or you'll just be happy...hell, I'm not married, and I'm well.." She laughed softly. "I'm already an age where my mother was callin' me an old maid." She smirked and showed her ring. "Somehow...I don't really want to tell her."
She blushed softly. "Why thank you Lucky...to be honest, I was not that happy about this wee thing in the beginning." She rubbed her stomach. "I'm more than happy now." She started chuckling as she took the bowls away. "And my fiancee plans on us having quite a few more.." She shook her head, amused.

Lucky wrinkled her nose, "You're mother is a beastie. Who needs to get married if you're happy?" A thought crossed Lucky's mind but she shook it away. No need to go there, that's dangerous ground. She grinned a bit, "I wouldn't tell her, I'd be to much fun to see the look on her face.."
Lucky chuckled, "I would be probably mad as hell, but then again, that's just me." Sneaks had been right, she was a sweet lady. "Well, at least you're happy now, cause in the end. Happiness is all that really matters, right?"

Aria smiled. "Haha...ahh, but I'm a high profile person--if I don't get married, I look a bit of a...tart." She smirked. "I don't care...I want to get married." She wouldn't have said yes otherwise.
"And you are right. Happiness is all that matters in the end. And who knows...I mother everyone else, I can mother one of my own now."

Lucky grinned and then laughed, "Well, that's a good thing then. Means you have some practice." she was starting to like this woman. And she silently wondered what Prince had to say about the problems in Brooklyn.
Her mood a bit sour she gurmped a bit, "It really isn't fair, ya know. Spot getting locked up.. hope he can get out before this whole thing with the Racontuers blows up.."

Ariannette norted a bit. "I hope every one of those Raconteurs burns in hell." She blinked. "Sorry. I spent four months with them. Napped." She shook her head. "...just got out about two weeks ago."

Lucky blinked a bit at Aria's outburst and then grinned a bit. "Between you and me, they scare the blooming daylights out of me," Being completely honest she took a breath. She'd only kinda, half told Sneaks how much she didn't like them.
"Reminds me of the guys my Pop left Italy to get away from. The stories my Pop used to tell me would curl you're toes, but then again, I bet you might have lived a couple of them.." she finished softly, staring into her bowl. she felt a bit bad for that. Bad things happened to good people, good things happen to bad people and visa versa. But she didn't think Aria should have had to be taken by the Racs.
