Emmanuelle sighed and shook her head. "I believe their's good in everyone and until I'm proven wrong that includes you. Everybody needs someone. That doesn't make you any less of a person by admitting it."

Shaking her head Mini said, "You don't know dis woild very well do ya? Let me tell ya dere are evil people out dere, maybe dey were good once, but dey choose ta be evil and dats what dey are, plain evil. Ya might wanna 'member dat foh da future." Closing her eyes her arms crossed under her chest, "Ya might wanna be a bit more careful what ya say ta people, so people don't like ta be 'membered of somethin' dey can't control." She was referring to herself right now, but it was good advice.

Emmanuelle was quiet. She looked at Mini with a blank face. Little did Mini know, Emmanuelle knew all to well of the evil that people did.
"Exactly. Why get too upset over somethin' you can't change. I've learned a long time ago that gettin mad wont change people or what's already happened. Sometimes you should let the past be the past."
She was one to talk. She was giving out advice that she, herself, needed to take.

Mini swung her legs over the edge of the bed that wasn't occupied by Emmanuelle. Rubbing her face with her hands she sighed. "Some how da past always seems ta bit chya in da a**, don't ya agree. I've loind oveh time ya can't control when da past comes knockin' on yoh door. Tryin' ta keep what happened in da past in da past ya don't except an experience dat happened to ya and dos help ta shape ya and undehstand. Understand not to make da same mistake." Mini stood up and walked towards the door, looking back she shook her head. This talk had helped her, too, whether anyone believed it or not. She need that talk, it was just irronice that she gave herself the talk she need to have heard.

Emmanuelle nodded. "Yeah, I agree." She watched Mini walk to the door. "Just whatever happened, remember what you said, leave the past in the past. Focus on what you' gonna do to make it right again."

Mini heard Emmanuelle, but just shrugged. The past was a hard thing to lose, no matter how much you wish you could. She walked out the door and out of the lodging house, trying to relax, which was proving more difficult than she had first thought.

***New Day***
Mini had been staying at the Queens Lodging house for over a month and here she was again in her favorite place, her bed. It was one of the only places she could actually call her own and that was probably why she stayed on her bunk when she didn't have something else to do. Today she was attempting to teacher herself how to write. “Damn,” she was getting frustrated.

*Early on a new day* Buck woke up, very confused. He wasn't quite sure where he was at first; it wasn't that he wasn't in his apartment, it was that he wasn't home. After a few seconds, it hit him that he was in New York. Looking outside he just barely saw the sun rise over the city. He got out of his bed, and put his boots and hat on. He never usually just put his shirt on, so it didn't stike him as something to do. He walked to the wash room and quickly washed his face and went to the bathroom. He didn't want to wake anyone up, so he headed for the stairs to leave.

"Leavin' so early?" Jennifer murmured from her bed near the stairs, cracking one bleary, barely awake eye to gaze at him. "I thought 'crack of dawn' was just an expression." She yawned, covering her mouth with one hand.

Buck turned towards her, "Sorry, miss, didn't mean to wake you." He held his shirt in his hands, and his other hand through his hand to kinda straighten it out. "I didn't want to disturb you, and once I'm awake, I can't stay in bed, so I decided to just head to the stables." He smiled as he watched her yawn, and barely open her eyes. "You're welcome to come, if you'd like." He offered with a shrug, not knowing if she'd be awake enough.

"Didn't really, I get up early anyway." Jennifer explained, rubbing at her face one handed. "I get up and sit on the roof for a while, until its time to head out." She had closed her eyes again, but cracked one open as he spoke. When he asked if she would like to go, her eyes opened wide and a smile spread across her face. "Yes! ... Sure I won't be in the way?" She threw back her covers and reached for her boots.

Buck smiled at the idea. He never thought of just sitting on the roof. It sounded nice; gives you a real view of the city, but also allows you to better see the sunset. He watched as she hastily got ready. "By the way, or should I say speed, you're getting ready, it seems you're already coming, whether or not I say yes or no to your question." It was quite of a shock when she had yelled yes, and figured it would be mean to say no to her question; even as a joke. "Nah, you wont get in the way; just as long as you hurry."

Jennifer paused in the process of putting the left boot on, "Oh... Well, I..." She flushed a bit, not knowing what to say. She just hadn't thought about him saying no. There she went, jumping to conclusions. She was going to apologize when he finished his sentance.
Looking sheepish, she quickly got ready and threw her covers over her bed. "Sorry, i hadn't thought..." She shook her head and gave him a smile. "Ready."

Buck sighed. "I was just joking with you." He said with a laugh. "You're welcome to come; I wouldn't have asked if I didn't want you to come. "Well, since you're ready lets go." He was putting his shirt on, after realizing he had forgotten about it. As he buttoned it up, he turned to head down stairs, and towards Brooklyn. "Do you wanna get something to eat first, or just head straight there? There's always food there, but it's not all that good." He informed her.

"Well, its not really up to me." Jennifer told him, turning her head to the side slightly as she followed. "I'm fine either way. Im just a tag-along right?" She gave him a grin. "If you want to stop though, you won't find much of a complaint from me."
