A table off to the side of the room, covered in a bright table cloth. You can see most of the room from here.

Hawkeye stood up on the balls of her feet, trying to get a better look around the place. She sighed and pulled off her black mask for a moment, still scanning the room for a familiar face. Replacing the mask, she smoothed down the fabric of her skirt and adjusted her hat, feeling rather proud of the medieval costume she had put together.
She looked around the room once more before dropping into a chair and leaning her elbow on the table, her head resting on her hand.

Lukas wandered over to the side table hands full with a mountain of food - it wasn't everyday one could get a free meal of this caliber. He was clad in his Bavarian hat and matching lederhosen , one of the few things he had retained from the German slums. His walk was slightly off from the unfamiliar stiffness of leather pants so when he plopped into a chair it was a welcome relief.
He looked over at Hawkeye and smiled before shoving some treats into his mouth.

Hawkeye sent him a half smile, looking over his costume, before asking, "Hey, have you seen a guy 'round here called Racetrack Higgins?" She glanced around the crowds again, "I figured he'd be here by now." She shrugged, then turned back to the table, "Name's Hawkeye, by the way--'Hattan newsie. And you are...?" She extended her hand across the table to him.

He took her hand and gave it a slight squeeze, "Herr Berg," He said with an accent to get into his character, "Bronx." Lukas shook his head as finished off a few grapes. "Ain't nevah heard of him...he's yer 'date' I'm assumin'..?" He started to eat again with his mouth open.

Hawkeye rolled her eyes, "Well, he was supposed to be. Doesn't look like he showed up though," she shrugged, "Probably down at Sheepshed and'll turn up at the last minute, happy as hell, 'cause he won big." She flopped back in her chair, twirling her hair around her finger. She raised her eyebrows and looked over to Lukas, "You having a good time?"

"Sounds like a splendid bloke.." Lukas said with a slight chuckle between bites finding her situation somewhat comical in his own little way. He pushed his hair away from one of his eyes and nodded to her. "Yeah, I haven't ate like dis in ages! Prolly the best thing I been to in a year" He grinned broadly

Hawkeye sighed and snapped, "Think it's funny, huh?" Though the small smirk on her lips gave away that she was amused by his response. She nodded to his second comment, "Good thing the lady who runs this place can cook, huh?"

Lukas stiffened up not exspecting her reaction. It took him a minute to notice that she seemed to be joking and he sank back down, scowling a little. "Funniest" He snorted and added, "too bad HIggins ain't here to taste it" He poped more food into his mouth with his own smirk.

"Taste what?" Racetrack walked up behind the boy, an old crooked crown on his head and a long velvety robe over his shoulder -- a king of course.
Removing a cigar from his mouth he grinned at Hawkeye. "I see ya found yoah costume." He took a seat at the table with them, raising an eyebrow at Lukas. "You tryin' ta steal my date or what?" a small smirk gave away any seriousness of the question.

Hawkeye grinned as Racetrack walked over, "Took you long enough, bud. Where've ya been?" At his mention of her costume, she adjusted her hat and sat up straight, "Yeah, you like it?" she looked him over and smirked, "And I see you found yours."
Looking back to Lukas, she said, "This is Racetrack, if you hadn't already guessed. Race, this is Lukas."

Lukas choked on his food when Race startled him. He caughed a bit before dislodging the food and getting his bearings. He sent Race a quick scowl before plastering his face with a cheesy smile. "Nice ta know ya yer majesty" he said unenthusiastically.

Race gave Lukas a dramatic bow, "Your royal greatness will do," he corrected with a smirk, glancing back to Hawkeye. "Ah ya know, some fella bet me I couldn't pick da winnah of da last race. . ." Taking a few puffs at his cigar he shrugged. "Turns out he was right."

Hawkeye raised her eyebrows, "Oh yeah? So how much did you lose? Shame I wasn't there to choose for ya, huh?" She grinned, resting her elbows on the table and putting her head in her hands, "Bet I could've picked the winner."

Race, ignoring her first question, raised his eyebrows at her confidence. "Ya think so huh? Well how bout ya start puttin' yoah money wheah ya mouth is?" Leaning back in his chair he crossed his arms with a smirk.
