Ariannette laughed softly. "...why be so worried?...Clarence would call it off if I wasn't safe. So they have to. I'm just an object to them Red. Just something to barter with."

He shrugged. He understood that, a bit too well in some points...But he did understand, because so was he. "You dont have to explain it to me, Aria, i get it. I just wish there was some way to get you out of here." He ran a hand through his hair, "You shouldnt be here. Even if it is to keep Carter in line."

Smalls, having been given free reign of the building, decided to check out every room. Opening a door she looked down the long steps into a very dimly lit basement. Slowly creeping down the steps (that creaked loudly with every step) she paused, hearing voices.

Red, having caught the sound of someone on the stairs, got to his feet, crossing toward them slowly. If it were one of the raconteurs they would have already been down. "Hello?" He called, eyebrow raised slightly. "Who is dat?"

Smalls stood on the step unmoving for a moment, afraid it was more men like Nicholas.
Who is dat?
She knew that voice. Quickly she leaped the last few steps, shocked when she saw not only Red but Arianette as well. "What da hell are you guys doin' heah?" she asked, slowly walking into the room.

Ariannette smiled softly. "...I'm afraid I dont know you." She stood up, putting out her hand. "Aria. 'napped to keep the cops out of it."
Despite her pregnancy and not having seen the sun in a few weeks, she still managed to hold herself with an air of dignity.

Smalls smirked. "Yeah well I know you," she said, shaking her hand. "Name's Smalls." She only went to see a show once because some Brooklyn boys wouldn't shut up about her... Smalls still didn't see the big deal. She raised an eyebrow, not understanding. "An' how exactly is nappin' you sposed ta keep the bulls quiet? They bribed wit free shows or somethin'?" she asked, rolling her eyes slightly.
She was being no more rude than she was to most people, though she started to take notice of the woman's state and began to feel more uneasy about the whole situation.

Ariannette's eyes darkened a bit. "No. My lover's Officer Carter. I'm pregnant with his child. That's why they napped me."
She pulled her hand back putting it at her side. She couldn't stand rudeness, but she didn't say anything else, in all honesty, Aria was just too tired.

Smalls sighed, pulling a hand down her face and turning toward the stairs. That was all a bit too dramatic for her. Inside she felt a pang of blame toward this woman, after all, if it weren't for her the cops would have shut this place down and she never would have gotten into this mess. Taking a seat on the bottom step she looked to Red. "An' what'abou you, huh? What's your story?"

((New... Day...?))
Barely even pausing for the door to be open, Fletcher fell-hopped down the stairs (not much left to do, what with such poor lighting), landing on the floor of the basement after a series of violent creakings and thumpings. Waiting for his eyes to adjust, he turned his head from side to side, looking for a person who could just maybe point him to a certain red-headed male.

He didn't have to look far, considering Red was just a little ways away, staring at him without a hint of emotion on his face. Drumming his fingers on his knee, he regarded Fletcher in complete silence. Waiting for him to make the first move.

"...Well 'ello t' you too, Red lad." Clearly, his eyes had, indeed, adjusted. Fletcher raised an eyebrow. "Care for a conversation upstairs? There's better ligh', yenno."

Red didn't say a word. He just got up from where he was sitting, crossed the room, walked past Fletcher without a glance, and stood at the top of the stairs, waiting with his hands in his pockets, and leaning slightly against the wooden frame.

Fletcher sighed a bit, running a hand through his hair as he climbed back up the stairs. Placing a hand on Red's shoulder, he steered them both out the door - making sure to close it behind him. Having a mad Nicholas would not be pretty.
After collecting Shrimp, Fletcher led both of his companions out the front door of the Headquarters, nodding at Nicholas as they passed. Not to worry, he'd have them back safe and sound.
Relatively speaking.

Shrimp's eyes were wide, looking over to Red. "Wh-wh-where are we going?I still have to get more..things for Nicholas. I didn't do anything too wrong, did I?"He asked, already panicking. Just the idea of being led around by Fletcher frightened him and anywhere with Red?
