As it settled on him, he reached out and grabbed her hand before she could leave. "The sins of the parents should never be held over the children," he muttered, his eyes flinty. He'd always known, deep down that it had been Monk that had killed his sister, but he'd never had any proof. He closed his eyes as he thought, long and hard. Even with what he knew, he wouldn't let her leave. He coudlnt't.

Murder sighed and fought a bit to get free. "Lucas...let me go. I'll just remind you of what happened." She bit her lip, using her last bit of will power to keep up her walls. She had to remain strong. She had forced those memories out for a reason, and they were flooding back to her now. She didn't want to leave, but if she didn't she be shown to be weak.

He turned his eyes to hers, he let her wrist go only to run his hand over his face. He thought about what she said, and shook his head as he got to his feet to face her. "Heather," he looked into her eyes and touched her cheek gently.

Murder was about to go...but hearing her name uttered from him just stopped her in her tracks. She just looked into his dark grey eyes, until her own forest green ones started to fill up with tears. Why did he have to be so damn understanding about it all?
A string of explicatives that would have shocked a sailor came flying out of her mouth, as she turned away from him, hiding her face as the tears fell. "Damn it, Lucas..."
She wasn't upset at him, just upset at everything. At her weakness, at what fate had done, the complicated nature of the situation. Everything.

Wolf gathered her into his arms, a small smile playing his lips as she swore at him. There was only one woman he knew that would swear and cry in the same breath. And that woman meant more to him than any other. "Sounds like you and Deliah were close," he murmured, brushing the tears from her cheeks.

Murder nodded, the tears stopping. "Only female friend I ever had. Part of me died when she did..." She wasn't used to this closeness, but she readily accepted it. He meant so much to her, as dangerous as that was.
Finally looking up at his face she poked him a bit. "Hey you ass...this is serious, and there you are smiling!" She couldn't help it as a soft smile matched his. Only him...

He chuckled as she poked him, "I know, I know. I haven't smiled, or laughed, since I found out she was gone. Not until I met you.." He had to let her know that, part of him had died with his sister. The part of him that smiled, laughed, and joked. The part of him that remembered what it was like to be happy.
She'd revived that part of him, bit by steady bit.

Murder nodded. "Same part of me disappeared." She laughed softly. "Guess the fates had to be bastards about it all..." She reached up hestaintly and touched his dark hair. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner...I was worried you'd never want to see me again."

He took a raged breath, "No, I wouldn't have turned you away. You aren't your father." He took her hand in his as his eyes darkened. He'd get his revenge on Monk Eastman one way or another, but he wouldn't use her. It wasn't fair to her. He drug his hand into the hair at the base of her neck and pulled her closer.
"I'll make him suffor for what he did," he murmured. He was starting to feel it, anger, rage, and the soft spot he had for the woman in his arms. "Him, and Him alone."

Murder sighed and slipped her arms around his waist, resting her head on his chest. "I'm glad...and let him have it. Of all his sins against me...what he planned...his sin against your sister was the worst." She didn't like to talk about the marriage she was going to be forced into, or anything of the sort. "Just don't...shut me out."

He held her close and ran his fingers threw her hair, he closed his eyes a minute. "I have no intention of doing anything of the sort," he said softly, dropping a kiss to her hair. "What was done, can not be undone." He hated the fates for doing this to them, but he held her close, greatful to feel her warmth. To feel any kind of warmth. "What we do now, is up to us."

Murder nodded. "Yeah." She looked up at him, smiling. "Thank you for everything." She kissed him gently, a hand tangling in his hair. "...Damn you, Lucas...but your sister was right. She always was." She laughed softly.

He smirked a bit, "She was? And what did Deliah say that she was so right about?" Deliah always had a way about her, she knew things that other's didn't. And the fact she'd said something so right to Murder, made him wonder.

Murder laughed softly and shook her head, her tanned, freckled face becoming a bit red.
"Said that if I ever met her brother Lucas' I'd utterly love him." She said quietly. It was actually the exact quote from Deliah's mouth. Damn gypsy.

Wolf chuckled low in his throat and kissed her flaming cheeks. "She wrote to me about you," he said as he kissed her other cheek. "I found myself wanting to meet her 'dear friend Heather.'"
