Ace jerked, his hand almost coming up before he recognized the voice. ".... This is between me and him, Sneaks...Just go home." He looked at him, eyes hard. "There is a reason why i didn't tell you i was coming here."

Firecracker weaved her way through the crowds swiftly, sprinting towards where she had last seen Ace with unexpected speed. Her light green eyes were wide, her two long blond braids whipping out behind her like twin flags from underneath her loud orange hat. Curse the hat, it had been the cause of all of this in the first place. No wait, it was the wind. Yes, it was all the wind's fault for blowing the cap off her head and starting this big old mess.
She saw Sneaks and Ace across the street, and immediately charged towards them, eyes widening at the sight of the knife. A horse whiny brought her back to reality, and she froze, looking up. A horse, attached to a carriage, reared, naying in fright. With a yelp, she dove out of the way as its hooves slammed onto the ground, quickly scrambling over to the two well-dressed newsboys.
"Sneaks, no!" she yelped in desperation.

Sneaks flicked his switchblade towards Firecracker. "You stay out of this." He wasn't kidding. "...he broke a promise to me. I don't condone that."
He turned towards Ace. "Oh yeah. I'll go home. Then go to your funeral. --oh wait. Why should I do what you tell me to do? You break promises. Some leader." He snorted and pulled out a joker card, crumbling and throwing it at Ace. "You are being a fool. Leone will kill you."

Firecracker wasn't about to back down, no matter how life threatening this would be. She took one step back, but didn't make a move to do anything else. Hopefully, she could talk him out of this...with the way her luck was going, she doubted it. However, she wasn't going to look back at this and regret not making an effort to stop it.
"You're breaking one, too, Sneaks," she reminded him softly, more calmly then she felt. "You promised you wouldn't hurt him. Death solves nothing. This whole war started with a death, and I'll be damned if I see it end with one, too."

Sneaks growled at Firecracker. "I'm trying to prevent that from happening, FIRE!" He hardly ever raised his voice, but he was more angry than he had been in a long time. It was taking a lot for him to hold it in, and try and get Ace to see waht he was doing was wrong. That he needed Sneaks.

"Im impaurito metterli nel pericolo, fratello." He murmurred, turning his head away from Sneaks. "He is after me, and me alone. If he gets me....then he will leave. No more danger to my burrough, no more danger to my kids...no more danger to you."
He shrugged, leaning against the wall. "Seeing him hurt a brother of mine is more frightening to me then my own death...and i will not live to see that."

"I nostri destini il nostri nostri propri. I fratelli si levano in piedi insieme. È la mia scelta da levarsi in piedi con voi." He shook his head. "...You might as well fight. I will not allow you to do this alone....brothers don't do that to eachother."
He paused and put his knife away. "Leone will be dead or maimed either way, for if he kills you, the Hell I send him to will seem like Heaven after I am done with him.." His eyes closed to slits.
"...so I'd rather you be alive and have Leone delt with more humanely." He smirked. "Besides..with me by your side...Luck is as well. You aren't alone. I wont allow it."

While she had no idea what Sneaks and Ace were saying, Firecracker felt herself relax. It seemed like they were calming down, perhaps seeing their own flaws finally. Now there was nothing for her to do rather than let them sort it out among themselves, and step in if things took a violent turn. However, by the way Sneaks was smirking and joking about 'Luck being on their side,' it would seem things were going to turn out okay.
Still tense, however, she shifted her gaze to Ace, waiting. He would decide whether or not things would turn out peacefully.

"This is my fight..." He sighed, but it was as if the fight itself had left him. "Im spiacente, il fratello... li ho denunciati." He bowed his head a little, "Leone is my problem, but... you are right, if i do this alone, i will die. For a moment, i thought that was all right..."
He looked back up at Sneaks, "But who is going to keep Race from killing you when he realizes where his missing cards have gone?" He smirked a little.

Sneaks nodded. "...he is our problem. You aren't alone, Ace. You asked for my loyalty. You have it. Whether you like it or not." He smirked.
Sneaks shoved Ace then. "I am going to get him a new pack!" He grumbled, straightening his satin vest. "...I needed some." Truth be told, he kept giving them out, so he kept running out.

Grinning, Firecracker approached them. She shook her head, resisting the urge to roll her eyes at their antics. Who would've thought she'd end up being the mature one at the moment? Or, as mature as she could get.
"As soon as you give Race a new deck of cards, Sneaks, I'll go over to Brooklyn and sing 'Mary Had a Little Lamb,' salute Spot, and jump into the River," she said with a snort, rolling her eyes. Typical Firecracker.

"Off the bridge?" He asked her with a grin, putting the knife he still gripped away with a flip of his wrist. "Cause if he gives Race a new deck of cards, i'll hand Bronx over to my brother and jump witcha." He pushed Sneaks back lightly.
"Anyway... Fire...you do realize that when i asked you not to tell anyone... i meant anyone...and in all truth...i meant SNEAKS." He crossed his arms with a grumble. "He always pops in and shows me up."

"Keyword here: asked. Never made me promise. If you want me to not do something, make me promise," Firecracker reminded him, though there was a sheepish look on her face and an apologetic look in her eyes. She cocked an eyebrow.
"Always pops in and shows you up, you say? Is Ace, the might Bronx Leader, not invincible? It's a lie, it's all a lie!" this, of course, was done sarcastically and dramatically, ending up with Firecracker's face in her hands as she pretneded to sob.

Sneaks pat Firecracker on the shoulder. "....nah. He is invincible...but he can't win against the devil." He put on his most suave smile, looking at both of them, looking very much a rake. "...and I happen to be that certain prince."
He lit a cigarrette. "Which means, that 1) I hope you can swim, Firecracker, and 2)Ace, I'll enjoy working with your brother in a leadership role."
He had ever intention of buying Race another pack. Gamblers code and all.

"You and Pulitzer might get along well together, Sneaks. You'se both have egos da size of New York," Firecracker informed him, snorting, shaking his head at his antics and rolling her eyes. "Don't worry, if you actually do end up getting Race a new set of cards, I'll pull you into the river with me. Just giving you something to look forward to."
