The question would have to wait awhile.
Not even pausing to knock on the door, Slinks threw it open, stumble-skidding into the room, and using Ace as a break. Looking up panickedly, she grabbed Ace's shirt front and took a step back toward the door, towing him. "C'mon Ace, gotta gitchee outta hehre." She said, "Snyder's hehre, an' I don' want 'im havin' a chat wichee." Her words were slightly rushed, but they were clear enough.

Ace was slightly startled, to say the least, as he was dragged. He planted his feet firmly, halting the other. "What are you talking about?" He heard footsteps and suddenly her words made sense. Staring at the papers on the table, his face paled and he jerked Slinks back into the room, rushing her to another door and pushing her into it and shutting it quickly.
She didn't need to be in a room with the evidence. David was probably already in trouble, if they didnt get him out too-

However, they didn't have the chance before Snyder, followed by three police men, appeared in the door way. "Daniel Cardoni I presume... you're coming with me," and if those four words where the beginning of an all new war the police men quickly came past Snyder and towards Ace. They took hold of his hands. "And David Jacobs!" he remembered him as well, from the strike. "Associating with trouble... gets you in trouble as well, take him too."

"You're arresting me?!" Ace half-shouted in shock, jerking against the cops. "On what CHARGES?!" No one had ahold of him for long, and when he was free of them again, his eyes were flashing. "And David? Why HIM?!"
This had to mean something...This had to mean...they were right. A smirk spread across his face. "Oh...i get it." He said calmly, looking Snyder straight in the eyes. "We're right...and you know it. You've been found out, and you're scared."

David was slightly confused, as Slinks' rapid words were hard to understand. However, he managed to draw 'Snyder' out of the confused mess of warning, and knew he was in trouble. Not that he had done anything wrong, but knowing the Warden...well, a visit to the Refuge seemed in order. And this time it wasn't to try and save someone already locked in.
He glared at Snyder, but did nothing to resist his arrest. He knew it would be useless, and besides, resisting arrest was actually a crime. If he was innocent before, then he wouldn't be after-wards.
"This reminds me of the strike, you know, Snyder?" he growled, his light blue eyes fiery with anger. "You took Jack to try and stop it. And remember what happened?" an uncharacteristic smirk appeared upon his face, not much unlike Ace's own. "We won. A bunch of street rats won, despite your best attempts to stop us. They say history repeats itself, and that seems like the case here."

"For a know it all you aren't very bright," Snyder said dignifying him with a responce. Though he was saying nothing beyond that. Who says that he was trying to stop anything? David, as it turned out, had simply been in the wrong place at the wrong time.
"Take them away," he commanded, and the officers faught with Ace trying to take him out of the room, and out of the lodging house. Though the boy was strong.

Ace growled, "I DEMAND to know the charges!" He jerked against the arms, "Its my RIGHT!" He wasn't resisting arrest, by the law, he was simply refusing to comply until he knew why he was getting arrested. "You will tell me NOW, Snyder!"

"Oh... you wanna know?" He nodded to one of the police men who was holding on to Ace. The police man nodded and took his club and hit Ace over the head with it. It knocked him out instantly. Snyder then got down and got a very few inches away from Ace's face. "You gave me reason to take you in the second you became a street rat." He stood back up and nodded to the police once more, and they moved the boys towards the door once again, easier this time.

David watched with uncontrollable fury as the police man clubbed the Bronx Leader. Sure, Jack had been taken away, but he hadn't witnessed the blow that did it. His light blue eyes turned into chips of ice as he turned his attention to Snyder, walking away as if nothing had happened. He let the police officers drag him away for a moment, until he was being led right behind Snyder.
With a growl, the Manhattan newsboy suddenly leaned back, causing the officers to shove him forward roughly. He lifted his right leg up, aiming a kick towards the Warden's back while having the officers, who were thoroughly confused now, support him. A grin appeared momentarly on his features as his foot connected before bringing it back down and continuing to let the officers, dazed, to lead him.

Snyder lurched forward realizing that David had just kicked him in the butt he turned to look at the boy angrily. "Get him out of here!" he said again, and let the officers and David pass him by as they lead him, and the unconcious Ace out of the building, and into the carriages, whisking them both away to Manhattan.
