"Tis me night off, but drinks we will have," Shannon promised with another smile, rather energized by the idea herself, that and the thought of McGinty's fire place which should be roaring just about now. With the rain and the cool night air it helped bring in the customers and Shannon knew that if the place was lively enough, there just might be some entertainment with their pints. But those were thoughts for later as they had a cart in a hole to worry about and progress to be made if they had hopes of the pint or the fire.
"Hold on lass," Shannon said, watching Bonnie push at the cart with her back pressed against in, they were going to need to work in tandem if this endeavor had any hope of working. Turning, Shannon did her best to scramble out of the whole, slipping a little as she did and then hurried around to the front of the cart, grabbing a firm hold of it with both hands. "Okay lass, give it a go, aye?" She shouted to be heard over the sound of the rain against the flat surfaces of the cart as she braced her feet against the ground and leaned back, yanking on the cart with all her might. Unbelievably, she felt it move just a little and redoubled her efforts, now more determined than ever to help dig Bonnie out of this hole.

Bonnie needed no convincing as she put her back into it, quite literally, again. She could feel it give way, which in turn gave her another burst of energy. She pushed once more, this time sticking the back of her leg underneath to keep it held up in place, and hardly even noticed the edge digging into her calf and fraying the back of her dress until it had broken a nice little hole.
The cart wrenched up and forward, knocking Bonnie onto her back, and revealing the wheel that had been missing, lodged under it. She pulled herself up and grabbed the wheel. After examining how it came off, she put it back on and modified it best as she could.
Looking up at her companion, she grabbed her cart handles and started it rolling, "Shall we then?" she asked smiling.

Shannon felt the cart give again under the strain of their efforts and then their was movement and she landed squarely on her arse as the cart jerked forward, released from it's muddy prison. With a laugh, Shannon picked herself up off the ground and walked around to see Bonnie fixing the wheel that had broken off and did so quickly before turning and looking at Shannon with a broad smile.
"Aye we shall lass, and make a mess of McGinty's for our trouble," Shannon said falling into step beside Bonnie as they made slow progress towards the edge of Prospect Park. The rain was mostly ignored now, the water more of an aid in washing off the mud then a hindrance towards their goal. Shannon had found that in this vast city, you perhaps found a friend in most unlikely and surprising places and though she couldn't say for sure, since her association with Bonnie had been limited to a hole of mud and physical labor, but it seemed perhaps she had found another. So she smiled over at Bonnie, lifting a hand and rubbing some of the mud from her auburn curls before motioning in the direction of McGinty's. "Ye know the way?" Shannon asked, because she didn't recall seeing Bonnie pass through the doors and she'd been putting in several hours at the pub lately, coming to know most of the regulars.

"Ive been by a time or two to step out of the weather, but never actually gone in for enjoyment." she replied. She had always found herself more to be wandering into the lesser known and quieter bars for when she needed to brood in her ale. It was rare that she ever went to celebrate or have a good time.
"But by all means, lead the way. You seem to know it well." Bonnie added.

"Aye, spent enough nights there I could walk to it in me sleep," Shannon said, quirking her mouth in a quick smile, knowing that the boisterous atmosphere of the pub could either lure a body in, or cause it to stay away depending on it's mood. And Shannon herself was often at the heart of the better moments, with a flirty personality that served her well as a barmaid and a flair for the spotlight that made for enjoying the finer moments when music was going and dancing and song were to be had. Her thoughts now were on the roaring fire and the promise of a drink to warm her down to her toes and it was with that in mind that she guided them out of the park.
"Ye need to leave yer cart somewhere, lass?" Shannon asked when they finally reached the street, unsure if Bonnie planned on lugging it all the way to McGinty's or had some place she parked it for the evenings when she wasn't selling.

"Ye need to leave yer cart somewhere, lass?"
Bonnie sighed. that was the thing about her line of work. She boarded a room around the Queens area, and never had a place to keep her cart. She usually just hid it an alleyway or the sort and would go uncover it in the morning.
Without saying a word, Bonnie steered her cart into a near by alley and parked it amongst some trash, pulling a few crates up around it so it was unseen. Then she walked back towards Shannon with a straight face and said, "That aughta do. I need a drink."

Shannon watched as Bonnie parked the cart back in an alley, artfully stacking a few crates around it until it was barely visible and she smiled - rather ingenious that was, when Shannon thought about it. With a slight shrug and nod of approval Shannon continued on down the street towards McGinty's, already seeing the warm light spilling out through dingy windows from a few blocks away. "Will be a busy night on account of the rain," Shannon explained, already envisioning the bustling crowd and smiling a bit at the thought. "But the ale is good and the food decent if ye have a mind for it."
Though the rain had washed away much of the damage of the mud in their walk over, the remnants of their venture was still stained into their clothes and as Shannon pulled open the door to McGinty's and motioned Bonnie inside she was well aware of it. Thankfully she didn't see sign of Daisy, sweet girl that she was would no doubt feel compelled the mother the two of them as it was her nature, and Shannon had a feeling Bonnie wouldn't likely take to that too well. She motioned towards the chairs gathered round the fireplace, "Go ahead and get yerself warmed up, I'll see about gettin' us those pints, aye?" Shannon said, wandering off in the direction of the bar to place their order, already feeling the warmth beginning to seep into her bones.
