Gianna considered Prince's question for a moment, not an unlikely one considering what Gianna had shared with her friend, but it still caught her a little off guard. She cast her eyes towards the stage, envisioned it as she had a thousand times before and then turned to Prince nodding a little. "I think that I could...maybe," She said, catching her bottom lip between her teeth and chewing on it thoughtfully for a few moments. "I mean, I'm pretty sure I'd be alright with the singing and I could pick up dance steps well enough I'm just not sure how I'd do with that..." She motioned towards the crowd where the dancers were walking among them, flirting, chatting and laughing with strangers. It was that whole side of things that terrified Gianna, stepping on a stage and singing a song was of little concern - it was all the rest that gave her worry.
"What about you?" Gianna asked, smiling a little as she twisted in her chair and tore her eyes away from the stage. "I know you said you don't know what you'll do now that you're turning things over to Styx and all but...what do you want to do?" Gianna had a feeling that every person had some secret thing that they desired in life, where they wanted to be or what they might want to be doing - she couldn't have been the only one, could she?

That? What that? Oh... that. Prince instantly saw what Gianna was so concerned about, and she understood why. Being social in that sort of way didn't exactly come easily to everyone. "Perhaps," she said quietly, "maybe with just a little practice you'd be okay at it!" she suggested. "I'm sure not everyone is born to do... that" she said as she tossed a glance over her shoulder once again, "but I'm sure that they could teach you. And if they wouldn't well I'm almost certain someone would! The owner, the... one in charge, someone." Didn't everyone have a leader that showed everyone else how to do everything? Oh that's right, that was sort of just the newsies. Show business was a bit more cut throat, sink or swim sorta thing. "Hey if you really wanted to learn, I'm sure someone would teach you." She'd offer herself, but didn't promise good results. Prince wasn't exactly feminine and flirty like that. It wasn't exactly her skill set.
But Gianna's question caught her off guard. What did she want to do with her life? Prince had always just sort of assumed that as something ended something else would begin. The idea that she'd get to choose what it was never quite occurred to her. Everything else had been so created, or forced that... she had no answer when it came to what she actually wanted. "...I dunno," she eventually said quietly, feeling rather ashamed of herself for forgetting if she had any dreams, or ambitions. Prince did have something she liked doing however, she was a writer. She loved to write down short stories, keep records and books of what happened with her friends, at the lodging house. Not quite journalism, but real stories, Prince was good at those, especially when it came to telling them to Children. She'd just never thought of making a career out of being a fiction writer, like she'd ever have the chance anyway. She probably wasn't going to out right pursue it any time soon. She wasn't sure she was good at it anyway, keeping the attention of a seven year old was too easy in her mind.

"Perhaps," Gianna mused quietly as she considered the options that Prince presented her with. It wasn't that Gianna didn't believe her, there was a good chance that Prince was exactly right, but Gianna wasn't entirely convinced that interaction like that was something that was teachable. It sure seemed that some girls just seemed to have that sort of unique ability - to catch a man's eye, make them laugh and walk away with the confidence of knowing they'd left him wanting more. From her perch high above, Gianna had watched the women work and instinctively known that she wasn't built for such things - it might be nice to have a handsome boy tell her she was pretty, but she didn't at all have any idea what she might say if it happened. But perhaps Prince was right, perhaps it was something that she could learn; the prospect was almost dizzying in simply the fact that Gianna had never considered it before. "Perhaps, indeed." She said softly, tilting her head a little as she watched one of the dancers nearest them with interest as she talked with a man, drawing a smile from him.
And it seemed as Gianna was mulling over these thoughts, Prince was thinking over issues of her own. The fact that Prince admitted to not knowing exactly what she wanted to do, surprised Gianna a little. She'd always seemed so self assured, so aware of who she was and what she was - Gianna couldn't imagine her friend and leader not knowing what her next step might be. "What is it that you'd like to do?" Gianna asked, her eyes watching Prince, studying her thoughtfully for a moment. "Perhaps that is the best place to start."

For what it was worth, Prince really did sort of figure that someone probably taught the girls how to do what they did. They may not have taught them the exact perfect charm of the matter, but chances were good they gave them more of advice on what to say, and when to leave, not exactly the way to say it, or the body language involved which was a different matter all together. However, she was sure there had to be some sort of school of instruction for the whole thing. And the way Gianna was acting, perhaps Prince would have to ask Miss Naomi about it back stage. maybe. She was getting ahead of herself again.
She snapped back to reality as Gianna suggested she start with something that she liked to do. "Well, I always sorta liked spendin' time with the kids, ya know? The little ones especially. Ya know, I've always been good with kiddos but... I dunno what to do with that. What am I gonna do, get a job at an orphanage?" She chuckled and shook her head. Didn't sound like the best plan in her mind. "I dunno! I mean, everythin' I do with the newsies is stuff I like. I like readin' the paper, and readin' stories to the kids. I like writin' stories for them to read, or... listen to me read at least. I mean there's all sorts of things that I like doin'..." it was picking one over the other... she'd just rather stay leader and get paid to do that, but she didn't see Will stepping down from owner any time soon. Though if he would, that would be a dream job in her mind. Taking care of the kids and making money? Dream come true in her world, just about anyway.

Gianna mulled over Prince's words as she spoke, there was such a passion in her voice as she spoke of the little kids. There was a softness in her eyes too, her face taking on a thoughtful sort of look as she seemed to consider possibilities. Gianna knew what it was like to have that sort of passion, to simply know that you were built for something and not know exactly what to do with it. "You could maybe be a teacher," Gianna suggested softly as she considered that Prince said she liked to read and write, especially with and to children - it struck Gianna that it just might be perfect.
"I'm sure some of the younger kids could use that sort of thing..." Gianna drifted, unsure about her idea even as she presented it. It was true that some of the young street children could use some schooling, even the basics of reading and writing would be a help, but Gianna didn't even know if it was plausible for Prince to teach them. Still it was a nice thought and she smiled hopefully at Prince as she shrugged a thin shoulder. "It's a thought," Gianna said softly, tilting her head a little as the lights started to dim again, indicating that the intermission was drawing to a close.

The thought had honestly never crossed Prince's mind before. Become a teacher? Teach the kids of the street to read, and write? She'd been fortunate in herself, having gotten a good enough education before leaving home to manage more than fine. But some kids had to get headlines from others because they'd never learned to read well enough to even sell as good as they could. Maybe if the street kids could read a little better they'd make a little more money. It was worth a shot, and the more she thought about it, the more she liked the idea.
"Yeah," she said with an encouraging smile to her new friend. Maybe it was something she could do, if she had a job to make money, during her free time, to those who were interested in learning. It wasn't a bad idea after all just... not exactly profitable. It was something to think about, that was for sure. Prince looked up at the lights as they started to dim once more. Before they went out she gave a smile to Gianna once more, as they prepared for the second half of the show. Gianna was probably more excited than Prince could even understand.
