Sweetheart laughed. Jewel hasn't even met her brother yet and she was already crushing on him. Most girls would have found that offensive, but Sweetheart found it funny and hoped that Jewel and Evan would get along.
"Wow, Jewely! You haven't even met Evan yet and you're already crushing on him! And don't worry about me minding it. If any girl needs a guy in her life, it's you. Wow, that sounded mean."

Jewel gasped and laughed, and grabbed a hold of Sweetheart. "Ohhh, you little Minx..C'mere you!" She said.
Without warning, she began to tickle Sweetheart without any intention of stopping.
"Oh so you thin I need a man, huh? Huh? I need a man? Well you do too, little Sweetie-bird?" Jewel said, laughing.

Sweetheart was definitely not expecting Jewel to start tickling her.
"Well, it's true!!" she protested through her giggling fits. "And I don't think that I'll ever get a guy. I'm not that special." she said, somehow being able ignoring Jewel who was still tickling her and growing a little sad.

Jewel stopped tickling Sweetheart suddenly when she noticed that the little girl was suddenly growing a bit sad.
*Oh now what had gone wrong? She thought to herself.
Jewel looked at her surrogate little sister, and pouted sadly at the young girl.
"Sweetheart, what's wrong? What is it now?" Jewel asked her

Sweetheart felt bad for bringing it up.
"I still don't think that I'll ever get a guy who truly cares." Sweetheart mumbled loud enough for Jewel to hear her.

Jewel adjusted herself in the seat that she was in, and quickly turned to Sweetheart, and went wide-eyed.
"Sweetie bird, I've been telling you this since DAY 1, you will find a guy who cares about you someday, and when you do...I want you to remember that you found him because you are beautiful in body and soul...and the man in question saw that in you, and fell in love with you." She said.

Sweetheart nodded.
"I guess I just have to keep my confidence level up." Then, she yawned. "Jewely, can we head back to the lodging house? Being chased twice in one day really drains your energy." She smiled tiredly.

Jewel laughed, and then smiled "Well, whatever happens. Just relax and let it come to you. You just have to let a guy know how you feel, and whether it be Mush or anyone else." She said.
Jewel checked her pocket watch in the breast pocket of her shirt "Oh man...yeah, we can head home, Sweetheart. Wow...a lot has happened today, hasn't it? Your life and mine maybe changing in a heartbeat." She said.
"C'mon, Sweetie-bird...let's head home." She said.

"Yeah, let's head back before I pass out." she said. She grabbed Jewel's hand and walked out of the Hall.

Sweetheart sat down in the seats of Irving Hall and tried to calm down. She was being chased by both Warden Snyder and the Delancey Brothers. She ended up in Irving hall and she decided to take refuge in there. She really didn't understand why Snyder and the Delanceys hated her so much. She would have run back to the Bronx but it was storming outside and she knew she would get sick if she ran all the way back to the Bronx. She took out her Complete Works of William Shakespeare and opened up to the page where Romeo and Juliet started. She started to read but she heard footsteps coming closer to where she sat. She tensed, waiting to be grabbed.
