Name: Mary O'Brian
Alias: Bloody Mary
History: Mary was born to an unwed young mother who had brokered a less than savory agreement with a local gentlemen. On the condition that he paid for her to keep a roof over her head, he was given what would eventually result in Mary's birth.
She grew up despising her mother, who had by this time become infamous for the various "deals" she made with the men around town and a hated sight for many a suspicious wife (who were, usually, justified in their suspicion). As much as Mary hated her mother, she hated the men more, and often stalked those who left her mother in less than "perfect" condition. A few missing persons reports arose from time to time, but little girls were above suspicion. After all, the wounds being inflicted marked the perpetrator as someone who had remarkable, if disturbing, skill with a blade.
Quickly tiring of life with "the tramp", as she so lovingly referred to her mother, Mary left home and began surviving on her own, forming bonds with some of the darkest characters in New York's underbelly. She was a useful messenger for those looking to be discrete, never being stopped on the street and always able to get close enough to a person before they could realize the threat.
Her signature was delicate carvings in the flesh, usually scarring and usually on the back of the hand, depending on what kind of message it was she was attempting to convey for a client. She covered her face when on the job for obvious reasons, and often sat down for drinks with someone she'd been mutilating only hours prior, examining the intricate wound with loosely masked pride. The apparent blood lust of someone who though masked, was obviously female, earned her the the coincidental title of "Bloody Mary". However; according to everyone save a select few Irish comrades, Mary O'Brian and Bloody Mary were two entirely separate creatures.
Personality: She is rarely phased by anything and always appears to be expecting something horrible to happen, but with a knowing glint in her dark eyes. Most people try to keep their distance from Mary O'Brian, finding her contradictory silent but manic presence overbearing.
