Revelation, ya'll! Specs is Patrick!! Lookit. Lookit his face. He's the only one lookin' DEAD at her, and she don't even see him.  And then Snoddy comes up behind him and he says "WTF, mate?" (Cuz in my mind he's Aussie. I don't know. He looks like he could be Aussie.) And Specs is all, "Dude, that's my mommy. She don't even know me!"  AND SPECS BOOKS IT! Snoddy: "Bummer." Mommy: "Did someone say mommy? Sorry I was singing so irresponsibly loud..."  |

Ooh, I love playing the Devil's advocate. But I do have something to say about that... You made me curious, certainly, but screenshots can be decieving. So I watched the video of the song on YouTube and came to the conclusion that you could be right. But, in addition, you could be wrong. Specs does look at Patrick's Mother as she comes in, and he does glance at her several more times as she moves through the crowd. With Snoddy, he seems to edge away from her, as well. Reasons Why You Might Be Right:- Specs gives her several glances. - He eventually moves away from her. - She looks at the faces of four newsies: Racetrack, Snipeshooter, Mush and Crutchy. All four of them have dark hair, possibly indicating that her son also has dark hair. Reasons Why You Might Be Wrong- Specs doesn't really "Book it". The line for the food cart is moving up, and the camera is moving, not Specs. - Specs could be looking at her because she is a woman amidst a bunch of newsies looking for her long lost son. - Snoddy doesn't look too interested in what's going on between Specs and the woman. - In fact, in each of your screenshots, both Specs AND Snoddy are looking at the woman. - She comes from his direction behind him...and brushes right past him, if you look carefully. Surely she would have noticed him first, if she was looking for him, if she walks right between him and Kid Blink. Reasons Why This Whole Scene Makes No Sense- I have absolutely no idea how this woman knows that her son is a newsie, and not a shoeshine boy, a runaway, or anything else. - The four boys she looks at: Racetrack, Snipeshooter, Mush and Crutchy. They're all VERY different in age. And none of them look anywhere near as old as Specs. Wouldn't she have some idea as to how old her son would be? Or maybe, like Specs, she's vision impaired. Or maybe she is, UNLIKE Specs, who wore the glasses as a disguise.
Maybe she's from Metropolis so that clever ruse works REALLY well.
You actually researched and watched, my friend. I merely based it on those screen caps alone. Cuz I didn't even take them, I just found them while looking for Dutchy pictures.
