Feeding Newsies obsessions since 2006
Hello everyone! I thought if might be a good idea to let everyone just know a little bit about the site. Believe it or not there are still a few active members from back when the site began, but for everyone else here's some history.
The site was created back in early 2006 after I had discovered the awesome that is Newsies RPGs. Since then there have been many players who have come and gone, but some of us have been here for the entirety of the three years the site's been open. It actually began as 1899 New York, but was later changed.. just because.
Some of us even knew each other before this site, back on the ones that inspired its creation. After running the site with the help of moderators for about a year I decided I was too busy to devote enough time to keep it going. Instead of letting it die, I asked for help from some of the longstanding members. This is what eventually resulted in what we have today, a collection of members who also act as administrator for the site.
So that everything is clear, we currently have four members who have access to the admin account. This not only means they can create and delete threads and posts, but that the PM's you receive are often checked and responded to by different people. Though it can be confusing at times, it's worked out fantastically as far as keeping the site going when one or more of us are absent, and making sure all decisions are unanimous and best for everyone. Your current admins are myself, Jeanna, and Antha (and on occasion Linds).
Though we've had our share of plagiarizers, site malfunctions, mary-sue invasions, and all out cat fights, the site has managed to withstand it all; constantly outlasting other sites of a similar nature. This is because of you, the amazing members of 1899.
I want to thank everyone for the support over the years, and add a special thanks to all those who are new, for giving the site a chance and helping it to grow.
