An oldie but goodie! We used to have one somewhere but eh! Because Ali reminded me by giving me Blink and Brooks song. Go ahead and throw out the songs you find for other characters and your own. Lyrics are awesome and so are youtube videos XD As Hawkey pointed out oh so long ago... Dodger's song from the begining and well it brings him back to life XD Why Should I Worry by Billy Joel
One minute I'm in Central Park Then I'm down on Delancey Street From the Bow'ry to St Marks There's a syncopated beat
Whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo I'm streetwise I can improvise Whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo I'm streetsmart I've got New York City heart
Why should I worry? Why should I care? I may not have a dime But I got street savoire faire Why should I worry? Why should I care? It's just bebopulation And I got street saviore faire
The rhythm of the city But once you get it down Then you can own this town You can wear the crown
Why should I worry? Why should I care? I may not have a dime But I got street savoire faire Why should I worry? Why should I care? It's just bebopulation And I got street saviore faire
Ev'rything goes Ev'rything fits They love me at the Chelsea They adore me at the Ritz
Why should I worry? Why should I care? And even when I cross that line I got street savoire faire
Whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo, whoo

For some reason, this song always makes me thing of the whole thing with Soothsayer and Smarty...only about 60% of the lyrics, however. =/ But you'll see it ^^
An Innocent Man (by Billy Joel)
Some people stay far away from the door If there's a chance of it opening up They hear a voice in the hall outside And hope that it just passes by
Some people live with the fear of a touch And the anger of having been a fool They will not listen to anyone So nobody tells them a lie
I know you're only protecting yourself I know you're thinking of somebody else Someone who hurt you But I'm not above Making up for the love You've been denying you could ever feel I'm not above doing anything To restore your faith if I can Some people see through the eyes of the old Before they ever get a look at the young I'm only willing to hear you cry Because I am an innocent man I am an innocent man Oh yes I am
Some people say they will never believe Another promise they hear in the dark Because they only remember too well They heard somebody tell them before
Some people sleep all alone every night Instead of taking a lover to bed Some people find that it's easier to hate Than to wait anymore
I know you don't want to hear what I say I know you're gonna keep turning away But I've been there and if I can survive I can keep you alive I'm not above going through it again I'm not above being cool for a while If you're cruel to me I'll understand
Some people run from a possible fight Some people figure they can never win And although this is a fight I can lose The accused is an innocent man I am an innocent man Oh yes I am An innocent man
You know you only hurt yourself out of spite I guess you'd rather be a martyr tonight That's your decision But I'm not below Anybody I know If there's a chance of resurrecting a love I'm not above going back to the start To find out where the heartache began
Some people hope for a miracle cure Some people just accept the world as it is But I'm not willing to lay down and die Because I am an innocent man
I am an innocent man Oh yes I am An innocent man

Jensen Flynn:
The video is effed-up as hell, but the song? \m/!!!
(Uh... Ali listens to a lot of 8o's music, if you can't tell. Especially hair metal. Yaaaay hair metal!)

Also, this for Jensen, of course:
Dude. I watch this video like PORN, baby! The fact that he keeps messing up the lines just makes it that much greater. Oh Jenny, you own my heart...

I think this actually represent's Spot, especially after the Warehouse-events, and whatever incidents led up to Spot's "disappearance". www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYDzcx2VlgsHere are the lyrics: " (No More) Paddy's Lament" Wipe the blood from your lip With the flesh of your hand Theres no thorn in the side left to grow So lets cherish the names that we lost for an age With the rue now the supper must go Where traditions they blend lives a home on the mend The grass glistens now for alls eyes So lets sever the shame we have come to reclaim With the waters retreat feel the shore for us Woth the red rose pales lay a thousand graves many more Where the ghost still haunt for the day we come to the fore
Don't look back For whats dead now is safe The exiled, a home where the soul kept safe Take me back on the crest of a wave No more tears for you paddy's lament No more tears No more paddy's Lament
Rip the dreet from his heart Theres no sorrow tonight For onc bannished dreams sleep devine Where the silence you hear is the prosper we shared The only blade is a razor sharp smile Still the church bell rings the colective sings that still roam But the only thing left is the pain of nothing once more
Don't look back For whats dead now is safe The exiled, a home where the soul kept safe Take me back on the crest of a wave No more tears for you paddy's lament No more tears No more paddy's Lament
Grab the leaf of the branch from the tree in the ground Where the roots claimed the earth many tioled To a land that now stands under no-ones command And her beauty let no man destroy So rember the gun and the damage it's done The last drop as been silled for you and I Let there be no desperre for the rule we once shared Brush the tear from the eye that still shines
Where the red rose pales lay a thousand graves many more Where the ghost still haunt for the day we come to the fore
Don't look back For whats dead now is safe The exiled, a home where the soul kept safe Take me back on the crest of a wave No more tears for you paddy's lament No more tears No more paddy's Lament
Don't look back For whats dead now is safe The exiled, a home where the soul kept safe Take me back on the crest of a wave No more tears for you paddy's lament No more tears No more paddy's Lament No more tears No more paddy's Lament
Here's another song that I *think* fits Conlon. It's called " Downtown Trains" by Tom Waits, or someone else. Not so much that it represents Conlon himself, but the "mary-sue brooklyn girl". Excerpt of Lyrics: Outside another yellow moon punched a hole in the nighttime, yes I climb through the window and down the street shining like a new dime the downtown trains are full with all those Brooklyn girls they try so hard to break out of their little worlds
You wave your hand and they scatter like crows they have nothing that will ever capture your heart they're just thorns without the rose be careful of them in the dark...

I love Muse so i was listening to this song the other day and it reminded me of the Newsies in general. After the first verse the lyrics are pretty dead on.

Here is Dodger's new lyrics -- just for me
"Maybe"
Maybe I'm a dreamer Maybe I'm misunderstood Maybe you're not seeing the side of me you should Maybe I'm crazy (Maybe I'm crazy) Maybe I'm the only one (Maybe I'm the only one) Maybe I'm just out of touch Maybe I've just had enough
Maybe it's time to change And leave it all behind I've never been one to walk alone I've always been scared to try So why does it feel so wrong To reach for something more To wanna live a better life What am I waiting for? 'Cause nothing stays the same Maybe it's time to change
Maybe it's hopeless (Maybe it's hopeless) Maybe I should just give up (Maybe I should just give up) What if I can't trust myself? What if I just need some help?
Maybe it's time to change And leave it all behind I've never been one to walk alone I've always been scared to try So why does it feel so wrong To reach for something more To wanna live a better life What am I waiting for? 'Cause nothing stays the same Maybe it's time to change
And maybe it's time to change And leave it all behind I've never been one to walk alone I've always been scared to try
And maybe it's time to change And leave it all behind I've never been one to walk alone I've always been scared to try So why does it feel so wrong To reach for something more To wanna live a better life What am I waiting for? 'Cause nothing stays the same Maybe it's time to change 'Cause nothing stays the same Maybe it's time to change
