Lucky you guys, it's a long one! ((;P))
I just want to say, though I know no one wants their character to be a "pansy", that sometimes it's okay to not win a fight. With the war going on there is going to be more and more physical fights, and I think there need to be some ground rules set here.
Alright, first off, try to remember the movie as much as possible. The leaders were absolutely respected, and in Spot's case feared. It's safe to assume that that was for a reason, because "He's the most famous and respected newsie, in all of New York" remember? Yea, Leaders were put into that position because they are the strongest, most powerful, most respected, etc. I know Mary Sue's aren't afraid of anything, but please keep that in mind when your character is "mouthing off"
Ok, so with the fighting, here's the deal:
Not Okay = Mary punches Joe's face and sends him crashing to the ground where his head splits open and he cries in pain.
The reason you can't be doing this is because you are controlling too much of the fight and the affect you are having on the other character.
Okay = Mary swings her fist, colliding it with Joe's face.
In this case Joe could then say, if he wanted, that the punch sent him flying back where he then his his head.
The issue I believe we're having with this is situation is as the following:
Mary: Punches Joe
Joe: Dodges punch and trips Mary
Mary: Dodges trip and spits on Joe
Joe: dives away from spit and kicks Mary
Mary: jumps over kick
ETC.
PLEASE try to be realistic. Having a character miss yours is only okay on a minimal basis. If your character keeps diving out of the way like some kind of invincible hero, I may end up deleting the entire fight.
Remember, your character can't always win! ((but for leaders the chances of them winning should be at least double than everyone else, alright? Same goes for Brooklyn, we all saw the movie right?))
With that said, keep in mind not to take the fights as a personal attack on you. It's just a character, okay? Keep it fun! [/color]
