Character Rules
1) We don't claim relationships here on 1899, and there are no blood relations to canons. If you would like you may PM the player and ask them, otherwise the answer will be no.
2) Please remember the time period. Research is key to this one, if your wondering when things were made, put it in google and look it up. We know this is based on a Musical but most of us try to keep about as accurate as we can within about ten years.
3) Your bio must be completed before you are accepted. You will not be placed without a bio.
4)
5) Do NOT claim a relationship with a character without PMing the player and asking if it is alright. They have every right to tell you no.
6) Please be as descriptive with you bio as you can. Also try to avoid the dreaded mary sue as best as you can. If you have any wonders we have test on the site and are more than willing to help you to improve your character in anyway.
7) Please go to your profile and specify your character's sex and not your own.
8) Please no embellishments in your character's display name. I know it sucks but it's better to just have your characters.
Posting Rules
9) Posts should be in all black. It's cleaner and much easier to read.
10) We don't have a post count on this site, but please at least try for a paragraph. One sentence is spamming and will not be tolerated.
11) Please keep your character in a MAXIMUM of three threads at once. It's hard to keep track and it just looks like spamming if you over do it.
12) When posting write it as though it were a story. Don't write your actions in stars (**) and please write all words spoken by characters in quotations (" "). Also please write in 3rd person and not in 1st (similar to an outside source telling the story, like a narrator).
13) Please allow for the thread to be "dead" for 48 hours before you post a "New Day" it's rude to break into a thread that is in progress.
14) Remember the difference between YOU and your CHARACTER.. Just because someone's character doesn't get along with yours or is mean, doesn't mean the person playing them doesn't like you or something. We're all one big dysfunctional family. It's not personal, characters fighting and not liking each other is just part of the game and makes it fun. If you have any problems come to the Admin.
15) Our Rating is approximately PG-16. This means strong language is allowed, due to the realism of the time period, however, we do not allow indecent acts or events. If you aren't sure if your content is questionable or not simply PM an admin, and they'll be happy to let you know.
Out of Character Rules
16) Please respect each other. Don't go fighting amongst yourselves it's hard on everyone when players fight. So come to the Admin with any problems.
17) Do not go after another member. Any nasty PMs can be sent to Admin and the sender will be warned, suspended, or banned. Oh and please use common courtesy -- Do not start a *new day* just so you can ignore someone who has already posted in the thread. It's rude and will NOT be tolerated.
18)Your banner must at least almost resemble period. If it's ugly, we'll ask you to take it down. Because we have amazing graphic artists on our sites SOMEONE can find something to make for you. But you have to be patient.
Chat Box Rules
19) Keep drama out of the chat box! No one wants to read it and it's unnecessary. If you have a problem please address via PM to either the person in question or an Admin.
20) Do not spam the chat box, if you have a lot to say it's much easier for everyone if you start an OOC thread to talk about it.
21) No advertising in the chat box, we have a specific board we made just for that reason. If you have a site you want to advertise please go there.
If you have nay suggestions for more rules, amendments to the rules or anything really. Go ahead and PM the Admin and one of our staff members will get back to you.
