Name: Brigid O'Malley
Nickname: Roisin Dubh (dark rose in Gaelic)
Age: 16
Birthplace: In the Ringsend neighborhood of Dublin, Ireland
History
Brigid was born May 21, 1882. She had a fairly normal early childhood until the age of 7, when her mother died of influenza. Her father, heartbroken over his loss, took to drinking. Brigid was forced to grow up very quickly, as though her father worked to keep a roof over them, all his extra money went towards his drinking and it fell to Brigid to make sure they had food. She sold papers and pick-pocketed mostly. Her father finally realized what his alcoholism was doing to his daughter and vowed to turn their lives around. He stopped drinking and saved all the money to buy passage to America and a new life. But on the voyage over, he sickened and died, leaving Brigid alone in an unfamiliar country.
Personality
Cocky and outspoken, but able to laugh at herself as well. Usually tries to make the most out of everything. Can usually find something funny in the most innapropriate situations. Has a wicked sense of humor, and nothing is sacred when it comes to getting a laugh. Generally accepting and easy to get along with, but has a quick temper and enjoys a good fight. Grew up "one of the boys" on the Dublin streets, so she is definitely a tomboy, but at the same time, is well aware of her charms as a girl and is not shy about using them. Is equally at home in trousers or a skirt, depending on her mood at the time. Generally well liked by all that know her, but is extremely private when it comes to what counts. Doesn't trust easily, and even those closest to her are more along the line of favored aquaintances than actual friends. Is very trustworthy and loyal to a fault, just doesn't trust others to be that way in return. Sometimes has periods of extreme moodiness, mostly when tired, stressed, or feeling overly lonely and homesick for Ireland. Has a tendency to drive people batty with her habit of singing all the time. Is proud of her heritage, and is not shy about it at all. Is, for the most part, a good person, but has no issues doing what it takes to survive.
