Prince smiled. "Well, if ya need a tour, directions, info... whatevah ya need... just ask alright? Last thing we need is a lost newsie," she said with a smirk, keeping a low pitch to her voice, keeping her sounding like a boy as she had been since the start, and would for quite some time.

~New Day~
Leaning back mini blew out a ring of smoke. An old lady passed by and mumbled under her breath, "That is so unlady like, she should be ashamed."
Grinning Mini turned towards the lady and blew smoke at her, "Well I'm real sorry madam, maybe ya shouldn't walk past me." The lady walked away with a huff, leaving Mini grinning at her back.

~New Day~ Lock sat on a bench counting his money for the day. "If I get, both, lunch and supper I'll have less money than I did this morning." He was figuring he had only a week left of this one step forward, two step back game. "Maybe I can find a bigger lunch and split it into two meals." His voice quivered from anger and worry. He couldn't tell which emotion was larger, but they were both ones he didn't like.
He need a break from this aggravation, so he shoved the money in his pocket, took a deep breath, and just sat back. He watched people walk past, people who could care less about the price raise. He really wanted to just reach out and take some of their money, but stealing wasn't his thing.

Magenta was walking by the bench, and her legs were starting to get tired. She was just in Manhattan searching for her brother, than she looked in Brooklyn, since he wasn't in Queens.
Seeing the only bench open, it was only occupied by one person, and if you know Magenta, you would know that she is very open. Walking over to the bench and sitting down she took notice that the boy looked very aggravated. "Hi, are you mad about something?" She decided she should ask, unless it wasn't being mad.

Lock watched a girl approach from the corner of his eye, yet he didn't move. It wasn't until she spoke that he even seemed like he noticed her. "No, I'm fine." He forced out the lie, yet he couldn't take the quiver out of his voice.
Knowing his lie would never hold water, not after that tone, he continued as if he never lied. "It's just something I have to deal with, don't worry about it." That came out better. That was more of the truth, he never really liked much help anyways. Trying to change the subject he spoke again, "I'm Lock." He stuck out a hand, tough and callused from his work at the factory.

Nodding her head, she understood. "That's fine, if you want to talk about it, I'm all ears." Looking at him more studily, she noticed that he had dark hair, and nice eyes.
Magenta smiled at him. "I'm Magenta." She shook his hand, knowing that he either worked at a factory, or he was a newsie. "I'm a newsie."

"That's a nice name." He smiled slightly as he spoke. "Yeah, I've been selling papes, I used to live in a work house." He stated, hoping that would explain his rough hands. "But that wasn't the life for me." He shook his head and as he rubbed his hands together. "You live in Queens?" He sat up a little taller, and removed his hat; a respectful habit. His clothes were a dull blue button down shirt and brown pants.
(sorry, I have to go at the moment, i'll be on later tonight)

"Thanks," Pausing, she sat up straighter with him and gave him a smirk, "I like your name as well." Watching him, she raised an eyebrow. "Work house, huh? That's good. Ya, I live in Queens, I got a little brother, he's 12 years old."
(That's fine, I'll see you then!)

Lock awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck, turning his body to face her. "Yeah..." He trailed off at the phrase 'that's good'. It really wasn't - he hated it - but it certainly wasn't worth talking about. It made him feel good to know he met someone from Queens. "Well, it's nice to find someone who lives here. Maybe we could sell together?"
He figured girls would make more than guys; something about people believing girls needed more help, and guys could always get other jobs. "You got a little brother too?" That excited him a little more, in terms of selling. That's all he could think about.
He relaxed a little more, but this money thing was bothering him.
