Flanna smiled softly. "It's okay Ethan..I know I've been on edge. I'm sorry too." She continued to walk along the path, hair blowing in the wind.

<<New Day>>
Ember walked along the paths carrying her camera. She was in desperate need of some good pictures so that she could sell them to the newspapers, but even with the price hike she was having a hard time finding anything interesting. So here she was walking along the edge of the lake, wishing she could just stop and take some nice looking pictures of the water.

Avalanche was making his way down the paths as well. He was just coming back from work and was heading for home. He had a few things that he wanted to do on his way before it got too dark, so he was in a slight bit of a hurry.
He was jogging along the path when he came upon Ember. He was jogging along the path, well really it was more of a run, but the path was uneven in places. So as he came up to ember he went a little off the beaten path and landed on his foot wrong when he tried to turn. this caused him to twist his ankle, and with a loud pop he find himself on the ground and in quite a bit of pain about a foot away from ember off to the side. "Ow! Holy..." he grabbed his ankle and bit his lower lip, dang ground!

Ember jumped in surprise as she saw the man fall right next to her. "Oh my gosh! Are you ok?" She quickly set her camera down in the grass and knelt down next to him. He must have been in a hurry to feel like he needed to get off of the path to go around her and she felt bad for being in his way. "I'm so sorry sir...I should have moved for you..." She didn't like the thought that she had caused someone pain.

Avalanche bit his lip a little harder. "Not, your fault, really, don't beat yourself up," he said as he clutched his ankle. "I was goin' around you and the path was just a little..." he groaned. "Believe me, i'll be alright," he said nodding, "don't worry too much about it. Sorry for scaring you," he said with a slight chuckle.

Ember blushed a bit and slowly started to smile. She liked his laugh, it made it hard not to at least smile. "I'm not that easy to scare..." She said with a shrug. "Where were you headed in such a hurry....if I may?" She asked curiously, but not needing an answer if he didn't want to give it.

"Just heading home. I had some things that I had to do tonight, and... well wanted to get them done. Plus, just sorta felt like running. Ever just felt like running before?" he asked her with a smile. "It was kinda fun! Until my ankle decided to break on me," he said looking down at his ankle that looked like it was already slowly starting to swell.

"Ever just felt like running before?"
Ember grinned and nodded. "Yeah... I've felt like that before. I like running too." She smirked playfully.
"It was kinda fun! Until my ankle decided to break on me,"
Her smile instantly faded into a look of worry again. "Do you really think it broke and it's not just sprained?" She would of course help in anyway she could. His ankle was definitely swelling but that could be for either reason.

Avalanche laughed again. "I thought you said you were hard to scare," he said with a smirk. "That didn't go well did it? Naw, i think I just twisted it when it slipped off the beaten path. I'll be fine as as soon as it quits hurting," he just figured this would make work rather difficult.
He offered his hand to her. "May name is Alex, my friends call me Avalanche," he said with a charming smile to her. "And thanks for your concern and help," he added.

"I thought you said you were hard to scare,"
"Well, maybe that wasn't entirely the truth..." She said with a small smirk on her face. "I'm glad it's just twisted..." She added truthfully. Broken ankles were good for nothing.
"My name is Alex, my friends call me Avalanche," "And thanks for your concern and help,"
She shook his hand and tried not to blush at his charming smile, but smiled in return. "You're welcome, it's nice to meet you. I'm Ember." She was surprising comfortable around him, which was not something that Ember was used to. She had never been particularly good with strangers. "Why Avalanche?"

"Why Ember?" he asked her with a slightly crocked smile. He liked the name, just... wondered about the origin.
"Well, ya see I used ta be a newsie b'fore I got too old for it. They said when I'd scream that head lines that I was so loud, if I was in the mountains I'd cause an avalanche. There ya have it," he said chuckling. "Though generally speaking, I don't do as much yelling anymore, so my skills may have deminished a little," he said with the same charming smile to her.
It was easy to relax around Avalanche, he was a laid back guy, and often found himself getting into conversations with strangers. He was used to it, he hardly realized it anymore.

"Well that makes sense then.." She said with a playful wink. "And I don't have a reason for my name...just the one I was given..." She shrugged. She had always liked her name, which was nice since a lot of people seemed to not enjoy their given name. "I suppose my parents thought it went well with my last name... Meadows." She shrugged again and looked to make sure her camera was still where she left it, before returning her gaze to Alex. "So...what should I call you?" She asked, grinning again. "Alex or Avalanche?"

"Whichever you prefer, and is easier for you to remember," he said with a nonchalant shrug. "So long as we avoid 'hey you', whatever you would like suits me just fine," he said smiling.
He glanced over where she had looked and saw her camera standig there. "Oh, I see, a photographer huh? I knew a photographer once, kinda..." he said. Denton had been a reporter, but he never figured out why the man carried a camera too. "Taken any good pictures today?"

Ember chuckled. "Oh ok...I think I can manage that... It's not like Avalanche is hard to remember... nor is Alex actually." She replied, teasing him a bit.
She followed his gaze to her camera for a moment. "No...I haven't...I haven't been able to take good pictures for a while now..." She frowned slightly then shrugged. "I probably haven't been trying hard enough." She said with a small wink and a grin.

"Well then look at it this way, you won't be forgetting about me any time soon," he said with a smirk.
Avalanche had never fully understood winking. He didn't question it, he just found it an interesting thing people did and typically pretended as though they didn't do it. He didn't complain, it didn't annoy him, it was just he didn't really get the point beyond it was something not everyone could do.
"I'm sure it's not your fault. You have to be inspired to take pictures, just taking random pictures is boring, and then there's no feeling behind them. Taking pictures that will mean something to someone, now that's an artform," he said with a knowing nod of the head.
