*NEW DAY*
Medda wondered about, trying to get everything together for the show tonight. She was feeling especially rushed considering one of the girls had decided to up and quit on her with no notice. Now if only she could remember where she'd put that green dress she'd been planning to wear for her second act tonight. Where was Toby? She was feeling her very frayed nerves begin to snap so she stopped moving and inhaled deeply. After a few breaths she felt a bit calmer and resumed her search.

After Dream had been singing to a few people, they told her that she would be a wonderful singer at Irving Hall. Even though she was only six, she was determined to sing on a stage. Opening the door to Irving Hall, her small petite form entered the music stage and she saw Medda, but she looked a little frustrated. Biting her lip, she walked up to her. "Excuse me, Medda? Could I...try out to sing?" Her British accent came out, and she was highly embarrassed.

"Excuse me, Medda? Could I...try out to sing?"
Medda raised an eyebrow in response to the girls question. As much as she had a soft spot for these young ones, she simply didn't have the patience nor the time to deal with such a request at the moment. "Vell...." She drew out the word trying to think of a proper way to respond without allowing her anger to take the best of her. "I have no spots open on ze stage right now for singers. I do however need some help cleaning up after ze show. If you'd like."
She couldn't afford to pay her much but if the girl wanted to work in show business she was going to have to start out somewhere. She was after all in Medda's opinion far too young to be singing on her stage. It wasn't as if the girl would draw a crowd. Her main audience was adult men and they wanted to see girls they could dream of not girls who made them think of their daughters when they were little ones. That was going to be Medda's only offer and it was only for the night. With the prices being raised she'd had newsies coming in often looking for work and she didn't have the hurt to turn away most of them. Especially if they were Manhattan newsies.

Dream nodded her head, trying not to act sad. This was her dream, though, to sing on stage in front of people. She didn't care about money at all, she just wanted to have fun, and have people get entertainment by watching her. "Alright. That's fine." Her eyes were sad, you could tell, but she tried a smile at Medda, hoping it would work.
Biting and licking her lips, she looked around. Finally spotting the stage, she smiled sadly. Never in her life could she imagine herself standing up there singing. She didn't have stage fright, but it got her terribly excited, which made her singing even better.

Naomi looked at the little girl and moved her out of her way with her hand, placing it on the child's head and steered her away. With a grunt she folded her arms and looked up at Medda, she was still in a rush for that green dress? "It's over there, Medda-- hanging up over near the powder pink number.."
Yes she'd just up and quit on her but a part of her would rather have the woman for a friend then an employer anyway. "I'll talk as you get ready, I need to talk to you.." It was easier when there wasn't the line of boss and Employee between them.

When the older girl pushed her away, Connie walked right back over with her arms crossed and she had a small glare on her adorable face. "I was talking to Medda, and that was downright rude for you to but in and push me out of the way."

Naomi turned to see the little girl looking just down right annoying, she wasn't ever the nice type or eve patient. She was annoyed when someone had the idiocy to be in the way where they were not wanted. The look on Medda's face was clear as day. The girl wasn't like Aria's Rebecca. She was a street child who was getting in the way.
"What are you, an infant?" she snapped, having no patience at all. "Go away child you are in the way-- people have a show to put on and all you are doing is standing in the way making it harder to get things started. Now toddle off and do what Medda asked of you or leave."

"How am I supposed to do what she asked me if we haven't finished talking yet?" This girl was really stupid if she thought that Connie was supposed to do something that she hadn't been assigned.

"She asked you to sweep the stage are deaf as well as stupid, now run along before I go and find Toby and have you hauled out--" she felt like she was speaking to someone that was very soft in the head. "You are trying to be far older than your age-- now run along." She was getting ready to toss the little girl out on her ear, with her size in comparison she didn't need Toby. If she felt the need, and she did. Reaching out she grabbed the little ding bat by the ear and began to tug her for the door. "Come back after the show-- you are in the way.."

"Ow!" Connie slapped the girls wrist. "Why don't you actually be nice? I didn't anything to you. And how do you know if I'm trying to be too old? You've never even heard me sing!" The little girl was getting furious now, the older of the two was being terribly rude, and Connie wasn't doing anything rude of the sort to her.

"Do I look as if I want to hear a toddler sing? Please--" it seemed like this girl was just as stupid as Naomi had thought she was. "I don't care if you sing like a bloody nightingale now get out of the place until after the show before I find the nearest police officer.." Saying that she opened the stage door and tossed the girl out, slamming it sound behind her as if the girl was-- nothing.
Naomi didn't care what the girl thought nor did it really matter. She was a child and should be out in the world with children. Enough said.

Connie's ear hurt terribly, and she was furious at the girl. She started to cry, and she ran to the farthest place she could get from Manhattan. She couldn't even believe that Medda would let the girl be so rude. So, Connie went to Brooklyn.

Naomi didn't really care at all with a sigh she walked back to Medda and tugged the green dress from the rack, handing it over before she sighed.
"I'm sorry I just quit, but I would rather have you for a friend then an employer, Medda.." she looked back over at the door and was satisfied when the little girl didn't come back. The girl was insane to think she would be allowed to sing in a place like this-- she'd been no more than a child.

Medda watched the goings on between Naomi and the little girl in silence. She had said her peace and didn't have the time or energy to be bothered by the girl and she deeply appreciated Naomi stepping in even if the girl had left her to hang high and dry. Honestly Medda couldn't fault it for her, some people couldn't handle the pressure of working with her. When Naomi brought over the dress she'd been searching for she breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you, Naomi."
A smile settled across Medda's features as she looked at it, it was one of her favorites because it enhanced her features and gave an added look of elegance to her. Along with bringing out the shiny redness of her hair. She took the dress from Naomi and motioned for her to follow her to her dressing room. "What is you wanted to speak to me about?"

She shook her head and followed the woman, she did enjoy her company. She asked no questions, Naomi liked that. Letting out a sigh she pulled her hand threw her hair, letting it fall. "I wanted to come and speak to you about--" she sighed and sat down. "I told you about the place I was living in the Bronx, and how my sink was leaking.." The pipes were going bad she'd thought but watching Paulie-- she shook her head. She should NOT have done that.
