Medda gave her a sly smile, "It's good to have a little competition as long as my Hall is always packed." Shaking her head a bit Medda glanced around to make sure no one else was there and then tucked her arm in the crook of Sophia's. "Let's go into my dressing room and have a talk. Some very horrible things have been going on in this city and I think it's time we did something about it."

Her brow lifted before a slow smile crossed her face and she smiled, that was one thing she would always love about Medda. Do or die, between the two of them they could come up with something. "Agreed." she followed her into dressing room and brushed her hand across her forehead. "All of the newises are up in arms right now, it sounded like you have a plan.."

Medda nodded her head, slightly distracted as she sat down and poured them both a cup of tea. "Well I've already tried speaking with the officials and as usual they turn their noses up at the mere mention of the newsies." Of course, they'd also turned their noses up at her because of her work and the fact that she owned and ran a prosperous business. "I've been trying to get a hold of Bryan but it seems near impossible, so I've decided to hold a gathering here. Something big and brilliant to inform the public of the travesty going on right beneath their noses."

Naomi sat down and laughed, taking a cup of tea with a nod, "Something large and grand. Sounds like a brilliant idea." she frowned a little. "Denton can't be reached? I heard that he and that Jacobs boy went over seas for some reason.." Naomi heard plenty of things, but she smiled at Medda. "I'll help you, seems it's time that Irving Hall and Caprice united for the common good after all. And this sounds like something that needs to be done."

Medda nodded her head before reaching behind her for a flask and spiking her tea just a bit. She wasn't a heavy drinker and she wasn't going to start now but with everything that had been going on she felt a small dip into alcohol wouldn't be a problem. She held it out towards Naomi although she didn't think her friend really drank either. "I agree, there could never be a better time than now. We need to figure out a way though to attract the attention of a broader audience. More people need to know what is going on." She'd been planning on hosting a circus show and she thought that might be a good way to attract people but you could never tell and in her mind the situation was a bit to serious for something like that.

She wasn't that big of a drinker but she never turned down the free stuff, she spiked her tea just the same and leaned back in the chair as she thought about it. "It has to be something that the city isn't used too. Something that will shock them into action a bit.." she was smiling softly as she considered it. There were many things that they could do. "Why not a ball? Caprice used to throw one yearly it would be a way to attract a broader audience then either of us normally do.."

Medda nodded her head and tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. "I think that that is a brilliant idea." They could clear the tables away to one side and really clean the place up. Medda got lost in her thoughts for a moment, thinking about what she would need to do and buy to accomplish this and quickly. "We can't dally, we'll need to throw this together quickly and make it seem as though it's the prime event of the season."

Naomi smiled and turned her spoon in her tea as she saw the big picture, she didn't perform as much as she'd like too these days and she still lived in the Bronx near Sebastian and went to Queens every day. Ah Sebastian, a small smirked worked over her face before she shook her head. Back to Reality.
"Well, we can send out the invitations, between both of our halls we can make it work. Something large enough and loud enough even those stuck up snobs on Fifth Ave would have to notice. Make it a social event.." it just made her grin.

Medda nodded her head a bit and sipped her tea, "It sounds like it will work now we just have to put it into motion." Medda had been feeling incredibly stressed since she'd found out about the missing children and stress was something Medda did not handle well. She loved to live her life care free but when people she cared about were being hurt and children at that she knew she needed to put her foot down. If the authorities didn't want to listen she'd make them by involving people who they simply could not ignore.

She nodded, "I'll send out the invitations once I get home. I'm-- thinking of moving into Caprice Hall. I might as well since I run the place, no reason for me to be commuting from The Bronx and back anymore.." she sighed and took another sip from her tea, the nip of the booze helped take the edge off of the situation. She didn't have much to say about the children, and she probably should. She liked a few of them, quite a few of them actually.

Medda nodded her head, "You should dear, it will give you more time to do what you want with the place." Medda was glad that Sophia was going to be running it, it would just make things easier on the both of them since there was no rivalry between the two. They were too close of friends to let business come between them.

She nodded and smiled, the fact was that Naomi cared about Medda to much. Oh she was competitive sure enough but you had to be in the business world. It was easier, Medda was a good friend to have, and Naomi was glad she didn't have to work for her for their relationship to be so close. "Well I just hired me a new bar manager.." she was grinning because she loved the look on Jim's face when she'd asked him.

Medda smiled, "Oh really? Who'd you hire?" Medda had a feeling she was going to need a couple of new guys working the bar because she didn't want any problems when they had higher class people here. The men were the same but upper class women had a way of seeing things that could cause problems for her girls and she didn't want that.

"Jim Turner, you know the grumpy gus that worked the docks in the Bronx?" she laughed and shook her head. "I offered him a management salary but he was more intrigued by the perk of not working at the docks anymore.."

Medda smiled, "Yes I think anyone would be quite intrigued by that notion." She wished she had more jobs to offer people in the city. Working the docks was no easy job, in fact it was quite dangerous at times. "I'm glad to see he'll be doing something more enjoyable. Maybe you'll even be able to get more smiles out of the boy."
