A warm fire and a few couches is all the girl's need to feel cozy here!

Nuke lay on her back on the couch by the fire, her feet propped up on the couch's arm. She played a haunting, yet beautiful song on her pan flute with her eyes closed, trying to relax. Ever since she had been given the instrument she couldn't help from playing whenever she might be alone.st enjoying each others company, and a man walking his down. Nuke sat with her back against the wood of the pier with her legs curled up to her chest. The wind blew strands of her long brown hair into her face. Sweeping it away, she stared out into the sunset.

Dutchy rounded the corner of the lodging house before actually hearing the music through an open window. He stopped, smiled to himself and then implusively, grabbed a nearby crate, standing on it and looking into the room. He listened for a while before the weak crate gave out under him and and his foot fell into the wooden crate, a bit noisily. He lost his balance and fell over, then pushed the crate from his leg.

Reid glanced around, he wasn't sure that this was were Lexi and Perry were but he figured they'd end up here eventually. Lexi had stopped by earlier that day to take Perry with her to sell some papers, the angle always worked for them in Jersey City. A little boy and a young woman, they either figured it was a brother/sister combination and felt bad for Lexi or a young mother/son combination and felt bad for Perry for being raised by such a young mother on the streets. If they weren't back yet, then they should be in a little bit. Besides he hadn't seen much of the other newsies that occupied these parts and he was starting to get more than a little curious about them. "Hello....? Anyone here?"

- New Day - Lefty reclined back on the sofa in the girls lodging house, kicking his feet up on the small table and sighing contentedly as he briefly mused at the stark difference in smell between the two houses. Dodger had asked him to keep an eye on the girls until they could sort out the kidnapping situation, and Lefty didn't waste anytime following orders. He sighed again, sinking lower into the cushions and nearly grinning at his luck. To have an actual excuse to spend the whole day escorting, watching, and being surrounded by the Bronx girls? No problem.

Lexi walked down the stairs, smoothing out her skirt before looking up and seeing Lefty. She gave him a nod and pulled a piece of ribbon from her pocket to hold her hair back. Although Lexi had been putting a brave face on she still was trembling on the inside thinking about her little brother out there somewhere missing. "Morning." She wondered what Lefty was doing here so early but figured Dodger sent him over. It was nice to have someone who cared so much about their lodgers.

--New Day/ The great Meeting (cause well I'm lazy so lets just assume yeah?)-- Dodger looked around at the kids in his borough, it had taken longer to get two houses into one then he'd thought it would but they would all be better for it. Everyone was together and that was a good thing. Running his hand over his neck he sighed a little bit and nodded. "A'right mates, here is what we have," his serious tone meant business. "Kids from all over New York are missin'. We don't know who are why yet. But we intend to find out. "Lucks over in Brooklyn got her ass handed to her about as easy as a how you please but she got away. She saw the guy was a cop and was rattling on about takin' her somewhere. Needless to say those of us that know Lucky know she's pissed off and living up to her name she got away. "We can't trust the bulls, not like we did before but avoid them. Sell in pairs, girls leave with boys and don't go out alone. Ever. Grab someone even if you're just running down ta Stu's for a meal. Never alone. We can't afford to lose anymore, aye?" his brow lifted as he looked around the room at the various faces he'd come to appreciate. They were all like family, it took the edge off for a lot of them not having a real one. This one was good enough. "For all intensive purposes Lexi is my co-leader. You can't find me, go ta her. I trust her word and whatever decision she makes is as good as mine. If that fails, you know Lefty and River are here when ya need em. "I can't make this clear enough, mates. We stand firm together or we fall apart. We trust only Newsies like before, we stand firm like before. And we keep our ears open." he smirked and tapped his ear a bit for emphasis. "Listen when you're out together, for anything. The more information we have about all this the better. We can share it with the others, the faster we find out where the others were taken the faster we can bring them home. Alright?" Was that clear enough? He looked around the room waiting for a response from everyone.

River gave Dodger a nod and a thumbs up. He hid the fact that Lucky being hurt bothered him, hell it bothered him more than he even thought it should. He knew Dodger was being serious when he said not to go out alone but he figured his old friend would forgive him this one time considering the circumstances. River had always had a thing for Lucky, but she'd been with Sneaks so long he hadn't thought he'd ever had a chance and when the kid up and vanished he knew he'd have to wait before pursuing her. That didn't mean though that he didn't want to at least see how she was doing.

(Instead of switching back and forth from Pallet to Shamrock, i'm just going to post them together for this thread)
Pallet sat on the edge of the couch she was sitting on, one arm around her brother Shamrock, the other on the arm of the chair. She paid close attention to what Dodger was saying about not leaving alone, etc... She gently squeezed her brothers shoulder, making sure he was paying attention. Shamrock glanced over at his sister, giving her a crooked smile and trying not to look her straight in the eyes. Knowing that look as something he gave her when he did something wrong or knew something but was afraid to tell someone what it was, Pallet frowned and whispered, "What is it Aidan?"
Shamrock looked at the floor, before nervously clearing his throat and replying, "Um... Well, Oi know Oi wasn't supposed to, but today Oi was sick of being cooped up so Oi went out, alone. Oi met this girl from Manhattan named Shortstack and we went swimming down in the Harlem river to cool down cause it was hot. Well, Oi think Oi saw someone watching us from behind a tree near the river, smoking a cigarette or something..." Taking notice of the worried look on Pallet's face, he added "Nothing happened though... I'm, here, safe."
Pallet turned in her seat to face him, "What?!" Shamrock nervously fidgeted in his seat, "Ashleigh, Shhh.. Everyone is gonna hear." Shamrock glanced around the room full of people and noticed a few watching them.

Lexi looked over at Pallet and Shamrock when their voices raised a bit above normal. She gave Pallet a reassuring smile before turning her attention back to Dodger. She knew what it was like to have to take care of a young boy who didn't want to follow rules. It was hard but so rewarding. Lexi looked off towards the wall as tears welled in her eyes. She refused to cry at this moment, in front of all of these people. It wasn't who she was and she certainly wasn't going to become that person now. Before she could swallow them down she felt an arm come around her shoulder and looked over to see Reid sitting next to her. She hadn't even felt him sit down, but it was nice to have him here. They hadn't spent that much time together since they'd resigned themselves to the fact that Perry was definately one of the kidnapped.
In fact, from what she'd heard no one had seen much of her brother. She studied him for a moment and realized he looked incredibly sickly. Lexi knew now wasn't the time to push him about it though. All that would succeed in doing is pushing him further away from her. "Thanks," She mumbled quietly and he just nodded his head.

Dodger reached over and set her hand on Lexi's shoulder to show support before he folded his arms. "Girls don't go out alone, guys keep an eye out alright. Meeting adjourned now get outta here and do something not so depressing.." With a small smile he got up and nodded at River. Go check on Lucks for the both of them, he had things to do here.

Lexi gave Dodger a slight smile as he closed out the meeting and then turned to her brother, "We need to talk when you have a minute." Reid nodded absently and stood up heading towards the kitchen with his sister trailing after him. He knew she was worried about the way he looked but he'd been racked (?wracked?) with guilt since Perry had gone missing.
"I just need to clear my head, Lex. I promise I'll do whatever you want just give me a couple of days." Lexi studied him for a moment and then nodded before turning back around to leave him in peace. She had enough to deal with without having to baby her brother as well.
River gave Dodger a slight smirk when he saw him put a comforting hand on Lexi's shoulder and as Dodger closed out the meeting he gave him a nod and headed for the door. They both knew that he'd been wanting to go check on Lucky since he'd found out that she'd been hurt. He quickly made his way out of the borough and started walking towards Brooklyn.
