The table where the leaders meet

Dodger dropped into the table and wondered why someone had called a meeting, it was random and apparently he hadn't really had much to do with the decision. On a sigh he folded his arms and tipped his hat back on his head as he folded his arms and closed his eyes. How was he to know what was going on?
"Nobody tells me a bloody thing, "the Bronx leader muttered before letting out a sigh. "Maybe it was a joke.."

Prince came in the room next, hat pulled down low, hands shoved in her pockets. "You too huh?" she said when she saw Dodger. "Well at least I know the kid wasn't lyin'," of course when had he ever but still? She was in no mood to be running about the town, whatever was going on had better be worth the walk.

Lucky had a smoke and she put her hand on the back of her a chair as she came in, she took a drag and leaned against it. "Smalls and I are representin Brooklyn.." she nodded to where Smalls was moping and dropped to a chair. "Where's Kelly?" Seemed like he would be here right off but who really knew.

Smalls leaned her chair back on two legs, resting her feet on the edge of the table as she pulled out a cigarette. She hated everything about the situation, and as she lit up and took a drag she made her sentiments known. "He bettah get his ass here soon, I aint sittin' here all night." Blowing a few puffs up toward the ceiling she attempted not to look at Lucky, still annoyed that she had allowed her to drag her here in the first place.

Jack entered the room, and everything about him, from his slightly stiffer gait to the irate look in his face, communicated his agitation. It wasn't the fault of any of the leaders (Lucky and Smalls? What the hell were they doing here?): Snitch had been shooting off his mouth; a rare occurrence, but when it happened, Jack wouldn't hesitate to rough the kid up a little. If it wasn't for Specs, Jack would have knocked Snitch out completely. It always pissed off Jack when someone mouthed off to him, especially someone like Snitch, who had virtually nothing to complain about, anyway.
He surveyed the table, standing near a vacant chair (apparently someone had found another seat for the fifth person), showing no sign of sitting for the moment. "Sorry I'm late. Had to deal with a situation--of the fifteen-year-old crybaby kind." He tugged sharply at his shirtsleeves. "So what we here for?" He looked at Lucky and Smalls with something like distaste. "Where's Spot?"

Dodger was about to calm down his older leader when Lucky's boots hit the table and she took a long drag from her smoke, letting it out and smirking a little. She hadn't called the meeting and she hadn't really been told what it was about.
"Aww don't like my no more Jack Jack?" she flipped him the bird in a way before she dropped her boots to the floor and leaned over the table. "Spot's gone. We don't know where he is or why he left but he put Smalls and I in charge more or less until he gets back. Just left us a note. Said he had business and he'd be back eventually.. right?"
Dodger smirked and then chuckled, "Alright lass. We get it, so why did you call the meetin?"
"I didn't call it, TipOff said he had orders but didnt' tell us from who.. and you know what it's like. He's here and gone, and no one really knows where he goes or why.. so we're here now.." she took a drag and leaned back in her chair. She wanted a beer.

"So what we here for?" He looked at Lucky and Smalls with something like distaste. "Where's Spot?"
Smalls removed her cigarette from her mouth at his look, licking her lips once in annoyance as she eyed Manhattan leader expectantly. "What is it Kelly? You got somethin' ya wanna say?" Her tone was dripping with disdain. Sitting at that table was the absolute last place she wanted to be, but she'd stepped up and come anyway, and she'd be damned if she'd let anyone, even the damn Cowboy himself, look at her like she didn't belong there.
"Spot's gone. We don't know where he is or why he left but he put Smalls and I in charge more or less until he gets back. Just left us a note. Said he had business and he'd be back eventually.. right?"
Smalls let out a small scoff as she blew out a puff of smoke and leaned her head back. He didn't put them in charge, they didn't even know where the hell he was. She was tiring of being back-up-Spot, not because it was too hard or put her under too much pressure, but because it was a constant reminder that he was gone. again.
"I didn't call it, TipOff said he had orders but didnt' tell us from who.. and you know what it's like. He's here and gone, and no one really knows where he goes or why.. so we're here now.."
Smalls couldn't suppress the incredulous look she shot Lucky, having thought this whole time she was the one who knew what the hell was going on. Heaving a sigh she managed to hold her tongue, though it physically pained her, and settled instead on continuing to chain smoke her irritation away.

Prince raised an eyebrow. "Lemme get this straight," she said just a little harshness in her typically gentle tone. She didn't want to be here anymore than anyone else did. Especially at this stage in the game. "None of us know the real reason we're here?" she said. "I'm just makin' sure that we're all on the same page here."

Jack stared at her incredulously. "Whaddya mean, you didn't call it? Who the hell called it then?" He looked at Prince, almost accusingly.
"Lemme get this straight. None of us know the real reason we're here? I'm just makin' sure that we're all on the same page here."
Jack slammed his hand down on the table. "I swear I'm gonna kill TipOff next time I see him--" he spat. He looked around at the others. "So what the hell're we doin' here?"

After everyone had made it clear that they didn't know why they were all wasting their time there, Smalls took it as her cue to get the hell out.
She sat forward, bringing the other two legs of her chair back to the ground with a bang and sliding it back as she stood. Snubbing out her cigarette on the table she stood and headed for the door. "It's been fun kids." Sure, she was rude and disrespectful, but it was was who she was. In reality, if any one of the newsie leaders found themselves in a tight spot, Smalls would have their back no questions asked.

Dodger held up his hands as he tried to keep order, the Bronx leader was normal jovial and for a lack of a better word, devil may care but right now he was trying to keep peace. "Now, now, calm down.. there's got to be a reason for this.."
"It's been fun kids."
Sighing Dodger ran his hand threw his hair as Lucky turned and got up from the table, "Whatever I don't care anymore," she quipped as she moved to follow Smalls. "Frankly I don't give a shit, do what the hell you want. If it all goes tits up, don't come crying to me.."

Prince sat up straight and watched the two representatives from Brooklyn start to make their exit. Sure, she didn't want to be here... but all the same there was a point to being here, just because they didn't know what it was, doesn't mean it wasn't important, or they weren't gonna find out soon.
Instead of piping up she stayed put and folded her arms. She however was not leaving until she was satisfied that there was a point to this, even if there wasn't one. She was in a stubborn mood today, and the glare Jack had shot her had not helped at all.

"You two ain't goin' nowhere," Jack said hotly to the two Brooklyn girls. He turned back to the table, and glared at Prince and Dodger, and Smalls and Lucky in turn. "I wanna know who the hell called this meeting, and for what! Someone thinks he's a God damn prankster? That it? Someone think he's funny?" His gaze swept across the others in the room. "Who the hell. Called this meeting?"

Dodger stood up and held up his hands, "Calm down, mate.." he was normally the calming one for some reason even though he was more or less the happy go lucky one of the group. With a sigh, he looked around to where the Brooklyn girls were and then at Jack.
"Someone wanted us here, aye? So, we need to find out why, no reason to get all hot over it, mate. For any of us.. Obviously they want to hit buttons and they are, so we're giving them what they want.." Dodger wanted to know to but everyone fighting did no one any good.
