Prince looked at the two boys. She hadn't called the meeting, she hadn't been the one to summon them all there, this hadn't been her idea, and yet she was going to stay. Why Jack had to get all upset about it she'd never know. He was getting a strange way about him. What, did the man think he owned new york now?
Rather than think of that she started looking around the room. There was nothing saying there was someone there besides them, she wasn't sure what she was looking for, a hint, a clue, anything. She avoided eye contact with Jack, for in this mood she would rather not be associated with him at all.

"You two ain't goin' nowhere,"
Smalls froze with the door half open in her right hand. She had visibly tensed at Jack's command, her knuckles white as her grip on the door tightened. She did not take orders well.
I wanna know who the hell called this meeting, and for what! Someone thinks he's a God damn prankster? That it? Someone think he's funny? Who the hell. Called this meeting?"
She slowly, slowly, turned around, her jaw clenched in a Herculean effort to control her rage. Stiffly she folded her arms across her chest, bringing her gaze up to meet Jack's across the room in what could only be described as a death stare.
"Calm down, mate.. Someone wanted us here, aye? So, we need to find out why, no reason to get all hot over it, mate. For any of us.. Obviously they want to hit buttons and they are, so we're giving them what they want.."
Looking to Dodger Smalls' stoic expression melded into confusion. Someone planning this? To piss them off? She raised a worried eyebrow in the Bronx leader's direction. "An' who's 'they', exactly?"

Lucky gave Jack a look that could of pealed paint off of a wall as she walked back looking as if she was going to start swinging. The two Brooklyn girls were that way for a reason.
"Calm down, mate.. Someone wanted us here, aye? So, we need to find out why, no reason to get all hot over it, mate. For any of us.. Obviously they want to hit buttons and they are, so we're giving them what they want.."
"An' who's 'they', exactly?"
She tried not to let it get to her but she let out a sigh and folded her arms, her brow lifting as she struggled to avoid looking at Jack. He was her friend yes but she wanted to beat the living hell out of him at that point.
"Yeah Dodge.."
Dodger sighed. "Look, someone wanted us here right? For a reason then-- it wasn't any of us so it was someone on the outside, that's the they we need to find, aye?" With tempers running hot he wasn't sure what they expected him to do but he seemed to be the only one with a cool head aside from Prince.

-- New Day -- Danny cracked open the old door, peering inside the empty room before making his way inside. Clearly he was the first to arrive, which he expected to be. Lucky had caught him on his way home and asked him to speak for Brooklyn, so instead of going back he just came straight here. His usual indifference was only slightly marred by recent events, but for the most part he managed to retain his laid back attitude. At least on the outside. Looking around the dilapidated room he couldn't suppress a small snort, just like everything else in the newsie world it was complete shit. Not that he minded of course, for him the fact that it had a tables, chairs, and no visible holes in the roof qualified it as more than adequate for habitation. Stepping toward the window he moved the ratty curtain aside and glanced out through the dirt-stained glass, leaning against the frame with a sigh. He certainly hoped this wasn't a waste of his time.

Dodger paused when he saw Danny and sighed finding his chair and sitting down. There was no one else there but he wasn't the one to throw stones. Then again this kid was the reason he was so bloody exhausted. Well probably not, he was exhausted with missing kids and upset Lexi and-- yeah he hadn't been sleeping well there was always something going on in the wee hours to draw him from his slumber.
"Mate," he nodded as he looked around. Where the hell was Jack and Prince. They needed to get this show in the road.

Jack knew he'd been late the last few times there had been a leader meeting, and he'd left the lodging house earlier than he normally would to reach the meeting place. However, it seemed as if Danny and Dodger had beaten him there. At least he wasn't late, which was a step up. Jack wanted to make known that he was concerned about all this, possibly more than anyone else.
He looked at the two boys and nodded in silent greeting. There didn't seem to be much need for words. Not yet. This wasn't a social visit, and Jack was fairly sure they all knew it.

Prince stumbled in the door, last one to arrive, which did not surprise her. She had to search everywhere to find someone to keep an eye on her kids, and spread the news to stick together... she found that a might difficult in Queens with people being so young... But she pulled it together, but knew she'd be late. Better to be late than not get there at all she figured.
Standing up straight she took off her hat, tossed her short hair back out of her eyes, and replaced it on her head as she made her way towards the table. She was happy this had all come together, but had expected to see Smalls. She might have mentioned something about sending Danny instead, it was alright... she had just kinda figured Smalls would have been there. No problem, they were here for business and with everyone represented... business is exactly what they'd do.She moved to the table and took a seat, a new sense of regained confidence was about her, which was shown as she nodded hello to Dodger, Danny and even Jack.

At Dodger's greeting Danny turned his gaze from the window, nodding in return and contracting his mouth in a slight frown. Their last encounter occured a few nights ago and was far less than civil, or so the evening had been recalled to him from Lucky. "Listen, if I said anything..." Rude? Cruel? Batshit Crazy? He shrugged, deciding to leave his sentance hanging. "Sorry mate, wasn't myself."
Danny nodded in greeting to the Manhattan leader and moments later to Prince as well. As everyone took their seats he made his way from the window, pulling out the fourth chair and slumping down into it. He refrained from speaking first, not knowing much of how such gatherings worked and being very aware of his "stand-in" status among the other borough leaders.

It was mainly because they'd all be alerted prier. Dodger nodded at him, "I get it mate, if it had been my lass or anything I'd have been upset too.. bigons yeah?" he managed a smirk and nodded as he turned to the other to leaders, clapping Jack on the back and smiling softly at Prince.
"Alright Lads, we've got a problem. We're all aware of it. Now, what do we do about it?"

Prince shook her head and shrugged. "Lord knows we've got suggestions comin' from all different directions. I do anyway," she said shrugging. "I've heard everything from search the whole city, to wait for it to go away, to follow everyone when they go out..." she sighed and shook her head. "But I dunno what a good solution is," she said as she leaned back. She lit a match on the table and lit a cigarette, for some reason, she was fairly relaxed. Not that the situation was relaxed, but she was ready to take her time with this situation. She kicked her feet up on the table. "It may be such a thing where maybe we should keep an eye on those who are more likely to disappear. Or at the very least equip every kid with somethin' so that if they do get caught they could either contact someone, or figure a way out," she suggested.

Spot Conlon was late.
It had been months since the Brooklyn leader had set foot in these parts, but that didn't mean recent events hadn't got back to him. He had been mixed up in a few things that, in retrospect, would not be considered some of his prouder moments. Still, what’s done is done and he had a responsibility to his newsies.
It had been time to come back.
While his presence was decidedly unexpected, Spot approached the table with his typical bravado. Still, he had no intention of fronting a glorious return: he was here to get his newsies back, just as the rest of them were.
Twisting his ankle around an open chair, Spot pulled it towards the table. Jerking his cane up through his loose hand, he sat down with the rest of the New York borough leaders. Dragging his gaze across the table, Spot’s eyes fell on Danny—his replacement. Good on Brooklyn, taking care of itself while he was out running his life into the ground. Spot Conlon wasn’t proud of much, but he was proud of them.
Nodding curtly at the table, Spot cracked his knuckles and rolled his shoulders. “I leave for a bit and everything goes straight to hell. Now, what would they want with our girls?” This was no time for story telling on his part.

The amazing Spot Conlon finally makes his presence known, Dodger sighed and leaned back, tapping his hand on the table and shaking his head.
"Honestly, who'd miss em but us?" it was true and though Dodger had a habit of being fairly fun loving when it came down to do or die, he preferred to cut to the chase. He'd made a promise to Lexy that he intended to keep. "Most of our girls are street kin, and aside from Tate Potter, none of them have family enough ta do much about anything, right mate? What we need to do is find out who has them, where they took them, and how ta get them back before they aren't useful anymore.."

Danny listened intently as Prince Spoke, leaning forward and resting his elbows on the table. Her ideas seemed sound, the last thing they needed was more kids disappearing while they attempted to find a solution. His mind briefly wandered back to the Brooklyn Lodging house and the lasses he hoped were being smart; they were tough, but he didn't know what kind of person, or people, that they were dealing with.
Just as his thoughts were turned toward Brooklyn in walked the borough incarnate himself. As Spot pulled up a chair Danny leaned back slightly, resting back in his seat and contenting himself to listen. It was more his style, after all, and he couldn't help but feel slight relief. No matter what kind of consensus or lack thereof was reached by the group, Spot could be counted on to take action-- Danny was tired of waiting.

Prince looked up as Spot came in. Given... she was... okay, she was a bit shocked. She respected Spot, who didn't? But what timing the man had? He always had. But still, Prince wasn't sure how she felt about all of this. Obviously he'd been all caught up on affairs. But before Prince let her mind get ahead of her she decided that she would stop, sit back in her chair, which she did, and try and answer the question.
"Is it so much a question of why as of where? Does it matter why they're takin' our kids?" she asked. "I don't wanna think about the why... I just wanna track 'em down, figure out how they're dissappearin', and who is takin' 'em." Truth be told, Prince could only come up with bad reasons that people would wanna take the kids, and no good ones. She would rather not think about the why, so much as the how, who, where, the other important questions.

Jack found himself unsurprised as Spot Conlon made his grand entrance. Spot had a knack for showing up at random moments. It must have made things slightly awkward for Danny, however, who was only there in Spot's abscence. Aside from the unexpected addition to their meeting, Jack listened to the other leaders in silence. He was listening to what they had to say, but he was also thinking. If there was one thing Jack was good at, it was flying by the seat of his pants and making it work out. Often, it was because he always took the first small step toward the edge, before taking the big leap of faith.
After Prince spoke, Jack stepped forward and spoke. "I say we take care of the rest of our kids first. Cause they're still here, and whoever's doin' this is still out there. And let's just say it...the kids who're gone could be hurt or worse. I say we tell our kids to buddy up whenever they'd be alone. I'm talkin' sellin' partners, even for the ones who can push a hundred or more. Pairs has to be the new rule."
