A small door backstage leads up to this second story apartment atop Caprice Hall.

<New Day>
Drama paused for a moment before lifting her hand and knocking lightly on Aria's door. She wasn't afraid to deliver her news, wasn't torn up about her decision...she just hated to possibly let Aria down. Aria was one of the few people in her life who had given her a chance and had been kind to her. Now she was coming to say goodbye and then she would be on her way, back to the land and places her heart longed for. Back to face the past that haunted her no matter how far she had tried to run.

*New Day*
Lucas held the three year old in his arms as he moved towards the apartment, the girl was sleeping in his arms and he was in a bit of a state. God DAMN Heather. But what more could he do? he was getting to old for her games, he would always love her and he knew it. But playing her games was wearing thin on him and with the girl in his arms he didn't have the time.
Knocking on the door he looked up at it and turned to the child, "Charlie, you'll behave for Uncle Luke wont you?"
The girl just nodded her head, soft curls bouncing and it killed him a little, she was so much like his sister it ate at him. So much like Deliah. But she was Cassandra's child and Cass was gone now, leaving it up to him to take care of all that was left of his sister.

Aria sighed, pushing up to a standing position. Rebecca had worn herself out earlier in the day at ballet practice with Maestro, and was sleeping in the next room. Unsure who would be knocking at the door, she opened the door a crack, quirking an eyebrow when she saw it was Lucas with a child.
"...I assume she's not Heathers." His relationship with his on again, off again girlfriend was always rocky, but she would have been surprised to see him with a child.

He shook his head and sighed, "Hell no, you think as angry as she is at me right now she'd let me anywhere near my own child? "
Lucas looked down at Charlie and sighed. "This is my niece Charlotte-- her mom passed away, she's got no one else.." For a man that never asked for help it was clear as day in his eyes. Help me do something for this girl-- help me take care of her and show me how to not be so damn selfish. Because he was by nature, it was one of the cons to his and Heather's relationship. They were both very selfish people and it generally was all about what one wanted, they wanted now.
Charlotte looked up at Aria, her eyes the same turbulent gray that her uncle's was. Though she was the small image of his sister, Deliah.

Aria sighed, looking at the young girl. She looked back up at Lucas. "...you are going to owe me, big time, my friend." She couldn't ever turn anyone away; why Lucas thought she'd be good with another child, he didn't know--she wasn't that great with her own daughter most of the time, she felt.
"Hey, Charlotte?" She looked down at the girl, brushing a few fingers through the curls. "Would you like a Croissant?"

Charlie nodded and lifted her head up, she liked this lady she smelled like one of Mama's friends.
"I don't need you to take care of her Aria, I need you to show me how--" He sure as hell could take care of himself but a kid? He had to put himself on the back burner for someone so small, she needed it. Sighing he looked at the woman, "Aria I owe you plenty as it is, but--" The girl deserved so much better than him, but he was all that she had. His other sisters were scattered across the country like the four winds.

"...a mobster, hmm?" She sighed and took Charlie from Lucas' arms, ruffling her hair. "We'll cover it in butter. That's what my daughter likes. She's about a year younger than you...she's sleeping so we have to stay a bit quiet.." She put the girl on the counter, pulling out the bread and slathering it in butter.
"I'll help you, Lucas--but in case you notice, I'm not the mother of the year."

Charlie watched her and smiled at the nice lady, she hadn't eaten much but Uncle Luke promised it would be okay. She hadn't even asked if she could go home and see Mama-- she was being such a good girl. Mostly. She'd been sleepy most of the way. "I like butter.." was all the little girl replied.
"Aria you are the only decent one I know," Lucas replied. "My parents are dead, two of my sisters I have no one else to turn to and Heather would shoot me as soon as look at me right now." he reached over and ruffled the girl's hair getting her to smile. "You heard Miss Arianette, we have to be quiet alright Charlie?"
She nodded, she liked the smell of the lady.

Aria nodded and turned to look at Lucas. "So you and Heather are on the rocks again?" She shook her head, sighing. "What did you do this time?" She smiled slightly, offering Lucas a pastry as well. "And I'll help you out. But means you will babysit Becca some days with Charlotte, hm?"

"I didn't do anything," he muttered, running his hand over the little girl's head, whatever it had been to set Heather off, he didn't want a part of it. Last he remembered they were doing alright then she up and moved out. "I'll watch them both, it's not a problem..."
Charlie dug into the sweet bread and smiled at her Uncle, she really liked it but she didn't like that he was always glaring. She tugged on his sleeve and gave him one of those quizzical looks, tilting her head.
He offered her a small smile and it was so rare on Wolf it was like looking at another person, "Sorry Charlie.." His eyes flickered to Aria and he shrugged. It was a change in his life-- that he probably needed.

"Mmm...I'm sure you probably did." Aria put up a hand. "And I'm sure she did something too. But Clarence never thought he had done anything wrong, so forgive me if I am a bit wary." She laughed sadly, rubbing an arm gently.
"You say that now...but Rebecca is subborn and a brat." She was stern towards her own daughter. "And put her with another girl..." She shook her hair, her curls bouncing slightly.
"Are you going to be taking care of her from now on, or is it a temporary thing?"

He shrugged at her comments about them both being at fault and was inclined to agree, but he didn't say so.
"I'm used to dealing with brats," he remarked, no one had ever called Heather, Mary Sunshine. But she was his brat so he didn't say much about it normally. He'd heard things on the street but Heather had a right to her own life in his eyes so he let her do what she wanted. He'd talk to her eventually.
"I'm all she's got, Arianette.. The only one that can take care of her--" meaning it was permanent. Wolf took family damn seriously when it came down to the crunch.

"Well then, I suppose you have to make do, then." Aria shrugged, rubbing her arm casually, then looked back at Charlie. "So what do you like, sweetheart? What are your favorite things to do? What do you want to see here in New York?"

Charlie looked at her Uncle and as he nodded it was okay to talk a bit smile broke out across her face.
"I like horses, mommy had horse and she would let me ride with her... this place is big it's not like home-- the buildings here and big and scary but Uncle Luke says that it's because people want to be closer to God is that true?" like the flood gates opening, she could talk-- she was three and like most three year olds she chattered when she was nervous or in a new situation
