This room holds all of Caprice Hall's Costumes. Womens are on the left, Men are on the right and are arranged by color.

Rhoda sat down in defeat in the corner as her sisters rummaged through the room trying on all of the costumes that they could get their hands on. Recently, she had been getting Sundays off from the factory and she thought that it might be nice to take Maude and Harriett to church for once and then maybe to the park since Harriett didn't get many chances to get out of their apartment building since she was too young to be out on her own and the woman who watched her while everyone else was at work and school was too old to go out very much. It had seemed like such a good Idea at the time but clearly it had gone considerably astray.
It had all started when they walked past a big building which had really pretty music coming out of it. Rhoda had paused to listen for a moment before continuing on her way but her sisters had decided to take an even more dramatic interest in the music and ran inside of the building before Rhoda could hold them back. She ran after them but the factory had taken its toll on her lungs and pretty soon she was out of breath and unable to run any further. She had spotted her sisters standing by the curtains backstage staring fixedly at the woman who was performing onstage but before she could reach them , they had broken their trance as the song ended and ran into some back rooms to find something else to do.
That was when they had found the costumes and all hell broke loose. they pulled down every costume they could get their hands on and, even though none of them fit, they had tried on each and every one that they pulled down. occasionally crying out 'look, Rhoda, I'm a princess!' or 'Look, I'm Robin hood!". She tried repeatedly to tell them that they couldn't try those on, that the costumes weren't theirs and it was like stealing because they were messing them all up, but it was no use. They were deaf to anything that might end their fun and she was still too exhausted from the running to pull them out of there.
So, there she was, sitting in the corner of a room in a building that she didn't even know the name of watching helplessly as her sisters messed up a bunch of likely very expensive clothes which belonged to God knows who. Occasionally she would call out to them to stop and once she got her energy back she got up and tries to pick up some of the clothes that they had thrown on the floor but it was really no use as they were pulling them off of the racks faster than Rhoda could put them back. ' I really hope nobody comes back here' she thought to herself, a feeling of dread sweeping over her as she heard the doorknob rattle almost immediately after she had finished her train of thought 'Oh no! I'm dead!' she lamented, watching as Harriett and Maude froze in their tracks with looks of horror on their faces, apparently sharing her expectations of doom.

(New Day)
Naomi had a few things to do that day. The first she had to do was make sure Medda knew her hours and the next was to check out her competition. Caprice Hall was said to be one of the greatest places to be and she had to admit she liked the place about as much as Irving Hall. She'd sang for her supper at a lot of places-- but she hadn't ever really bothered to test things out to this extent. Never thought of settling down either.
Blowing her hair from her eyes she made her way up the stairs, sighing a little she looked around the costume room and her lips curved a little, "Class.."

"....can I help you?"
Aria put her hands on her hips, coming up behind the woman in the Costume Room. She was tired of people simply barging up here, as if it was their personal room. She was going to lose good costumes that way if it continued.

Naomi spun around and stopped short when she saw the lovely blond woman in her path, oh this was not good. She forgot her act instantly, he one of a southern Georgian bell. No it was the straight accent of West Philadelphia in her tone when she spoke.
"I didn't realize that this was off limits, I was looking for the woman who owned the place--" she coughed, Medda knew what she was instantly. A woman who had had a hard row to hoe. One who could lie her way out of about anything but really hadn't ever had something that would be considered stable. No money, water and potatoes to eat. But she had a lot of pride.

"Well, considering most of the costumes in here cost more than what my dancers make in a year, I would say it is off limits." She watched the girl evenly with her blue eyes. "And I own the place. Ariannette LeFleur. Again, can I help you?"

She nodded and stepped away from the costumes, hadn't really meant to cause to much harm.
"I work at Irving Hall but I live in the Bronx, I wanted to see what the difference was between the two..." she folded her arms and lifted her head and her eyes to meet Ms. LeFleur dead on. Between Swedish Meadowlark and the French beauty there was no telling what was really worth it to her.
Naomi could be selfish, snide, arrogant and a bit rude but she also knew where her place was when it came to employment. People already saw her as a harlot because she sang-- she'd rather be a high class harlot.

Aria raised an eyebrow. "Medda and I don't employ the same people. I tend to employ better quality as well." She wasn't making any judgment on the girl; but stepping foot in the costume room without permission was not the proper first step.

She inclined her head to the woman with respect before she spoke again. "No I suppose you wouldn't. I'm not saying I'm offended, Miss. Frankly you could be right on the money about a lot of things-- Medda just gave me a chance in a new City and didn't ask any questions but offered and ear when I needed it..." She nodded her head again, she had a lot of class in some ways. In others, she was almost what people called her.
No respectable woman would be seeing the building handyman.
"I didn't mean any disrespect I actually got turned around in here, I went threw the stage entrance instead of the front..." She looked well kept at least, dark features that echoed places of the old country like they did for so many other people in the city. New York was a place of contrasts. And so was Philly.

"Ahh. And I ask the questions. Can't have some trollop with half a voice ruining my respectable show." She smirked slightly. "If you would care to join my troupe, I can pay you twice what Medda does, if you pass the audition."

She nodded and smiled at the trollop comment but it was the change to make more money that got the woman's attention. She could get her sink fixed faster then getting Paulie to do it and probably the squeaky hinges with some more money.
"If you like the answers, and my performance... the pay raise sounds good to me."

Aria nodded, smirking. Damn straight she'd send Medda under. She was always going to be better, younger. "Do you know Greensleeves?" She figured it was an easy song, and she could easily gauge the girl's ability.

She inclined her head and lifted her chin, there was the pride there too. She didn't think she was good, she did know it. "Yes, I know the song well.."

"Well then sing then. And what is your name?" She sighed. This girl was going to be trouble. Always trouble.

Naomi was trouble, and she was for a lot of reasons but she decided to be honest with this woman. If she was going to pay her she might as well.
"Naomi Talbot.." with that she began to sing Greensleeves in her Second Alto voice, and she did have a beautiful voice. That she hadn't been lying about, she was one of those people that thought they needed to keep secrets to protect themselves and so far she'd been proven right over, and over again.
