Sebastian can be found here. You best look the part and be respectful when asking for a table--you might not get one if you make him unhappy!

Aria had actually gotten away from Rebecca for a night. Her Maestro was babysitting her...but she would be in bed soon anyway. She loved her daughter dearly, but she missed having time to herself, to actually be a woman instead of a mother...well a mother and a father. Bloody Carter.
...and to eat at L'appetit, which frowned on children (which she didn't blame them for). Despite being quite different from her mother, she dearly enjoyed the food from her parents homeland. Dressed in a dark green dress, her hair perfectly coiffed, she checked her appearance in the mirror near the host stand absently, waiting for a table.

Sebastian was in a bad mood and while this was nothing out of the ordinary, it did not bode well for the customers. Currently he was passive-aggressively attacking a middle-aged man and his wife. They were attempting to make a reservation for later that evening: a concept Sebastian had never encountered.
"No, no," The man interjected. "I don't want to eat now. We're going to show- I need a reservation for later this evening."
Narrowing his eyes, Sebastian glanced down at his stand, eying the notepad that listed available seating. "You want to eat, yes?...-We have tables available for now-"
"Okay," The man said with equal parts defeat and exasperation, "We'll just... we'll come back later."
Sebastian raised his hands defensively and glared defensively at the man, "Ohh-kay." With that, the middle-aged man and his wife turned and left L'appetit. Noticing their departure, Sebastian's boss approached him. "What happened?" He asked.
Sebastian shrugged, "Er war ein Dummschwätzer... wie dich."
"What? Sebastian, enough of your prattle- in English, please."
Sebastian cleared his throat and forced a smile, "They were lost." He did not have time for idiots or his boss... actually, the two fell into the same category as far as Sebastian was concerned. His boss, satisfied with Sebastian's answer, returned to whatever he did. Sebastian still wasn't clear on what that was.
Noting a young women fixing her hair in the mirror, Sebastian rolled his eyes. "If you're worried you won't be able to begaffst yourself once you're seated, I can assure you, our spoons reflect like mirrors." You will look like an idiot, but hey, you're probably used to it. He added a deceptively cheery smile to the remark. After all, she was a paying customer.

Aria turned back to look at him, listening to his comment, frowning. She hadn't meant to preen, not really. She just hadn't been out by herself, and was constantly worrying that she wasn't going to look good for the public. The public that she was constantly having to face down. If she looked perfect, it was less likely that they would say something...to her face at least.
Muttering in french, she flashed a perfect smile on her face. "Ah, well that's good to know." She wouldn't acknowledge his snide remark. She couldn't let the barb phase her, despite her wish to say something very catty.
Breathing deeply, she smoothed out her dress, addressing the man. He was attractive, probably only a year or two younger than she was...but she could tell he had some...attitude problems. But the same could be said for herself. She tried not to judge.
"I would like a table, please."

"I would like a table, please."
Sebastian raised an eyebrow before smiling brightly, "Yes, I gathered that." Grabbing a pencil, he gave his available seating chart a look over. He took his merry little time, despite there being very few customers that night and many tables available.
"One moment, please." Slipping into the backroom, Sebastian picked up a glass of red wine from the nearest serving plate. Whichever customer it belonged to could wait. Idly sipping the beverage, Sebastian ran a hand through his dark hair. Having satisfied his thirst, Sebastian yawned and placed the now half empty glass of wine down. Returning to his host stand, he nodded at the pretty young woman.
"Sorry, there was a, uh, disturbance." He explained half-heartedly, eying his pad of paper once more. "I assume you are dining alone tonight." He grabbed a menu, before flourishing his arm and leading her into L'appetit's dining room.

((omg he is killing me!!! hahahaa))
"Yes, I gathered that."
"...I'm glad you are so astute, sir." Sarcasm begat scarcasm.
When the man wandered off, Aria just raised an eyebrow. She really didn't know what to make of him...he seemed arrogant--more than he should be. But after all, everyone posed themselves in some way. She had her mask, she couldn't blame anyone who masked themselves. Didn't make it less annoying, though.
"I assume you are dining alone tonight."
"Again, astute." She sighed, smoothing out her hair nervously again. One of the couples in the resturant had eyed her, recognized her. The woman was already smacking her husband lightly and whispering in her general direction. She raised her head higher, pretending not to notice.
She was going to enjoy this, if it killed her.

((OOC: There's something very pleasing about playing an ass XD))
"Again, astute."
Sebastian never could decide who was more fun: the ones who caught on to his blithe dislike for them or the ones who were oblivious to it. This woman obviously fell into the former category. "Ah, yes, miss. Working here has had that effect on me."
Noting the couple who were "surreptitiously" talking about the young woman, Sebastian smirked. "My, aren't we popular." Coming to a halt in front of a small window table, Sebastian motioned for her to sit down.
"Excuse me- excuse me," an incessant woman from a nearby table called, motioning for Sebastian to come over. Purposefully ignoring the woman, Sebastian smiled tightly at the woman. "Is there anything else I can do for you, miss?"
"Excuse me-"
"Just a moment." Sebastian barked, not giving the old hag the pleasure of a glance. Oh yes, he was in for a long night.

((OOC:: Isn't it? Let's Aria have a bit of fun again for once, instead of taking care of newsies a third her age))
"Ah, yes, miss. Working here has had that effect on me."
"Oh yes. Working in a French establishment. Always gives you a...degree of..civility." Or snobbery. She knew the owner, actually...very good friends with her Mother. This man's accent wasn't French. It sounded more German. Her mother had demanded that she be trained in the classics, so along with French, she spoke her German well.
My, aren't we popular."
Aria rolled her eyes, snorting. "Ahh yes. Always popular for people who don't have lifes to mind." Gossip was such a vile thing.
As Sebastian dealt with the annoying woman, Aria hid a small laugh behind her gloved hand. When he turned back to her she shook her head. "No...just a glass of wine to start, really." She smiled, venturing to try something out.
"Sie scheinen, zu den Störungen verurteilt zu werden. Take your time--I know you will." [[ "You seem to be doomed to annoyances."]]
He would either think she was speaking gibberish, or he would still find her to be much too much of a bother to deal with. Or it could go another way. At least it would be interesting.

"No...just a glass of wine to start, really."
Sebastian nodded curtly and moved to walk away, opting to ignore the irritating woman from before. She could harass the next waiter that came by. Absentmindedly straightening is apron, Sebastian was caught off guard by the blonde woman's German.
"Sie scheinen, zu den Störungen verurteilt zu werden. Take your time--I know you will."
Pausing, Sebastian turned back to face her, eyebrows furrow. She clearly was not German herself, but her ability to speak the language was mildly impressive. "Ach, ja-... genau. Vielleicht fuer immer." Realizing he was being cordial to a customer, Sebastian rolled his eyes.
"I'll get your wine, then... oh and there's silverware there, incase you need fix your hair again." He chuckled before striding towards the kitchen, nicking a roll from a nearby table on the way.

Aria laughed. "Well I'm glad for that, Ja..." She removed her gloves smoothly, placing them in her small purse, watching him with an amused grin. He wasn't half bad. He would at least make this an interesting dinner. She caught the couple looking at her again. She flashed a glare, then smiled sweetly, sighing. If only looks could kill.
She looked out the window, smiling softly.

Just as Arianette had suggested, Sebastian was taking his time in the kitchen. Currently he was engaged in a conversation with one of his few friends, Thomas, a cheerful waiter who also worked at L'appetit. One might expect Sebastian to loathe people like Thomas, but the two got along surprisingly well.
Their conversation, however, was cut short by their boss who rushed in to inform Sebastian that a woman was looking for a dark haired waiter who had been rude to her. Sighing heavily, he grabbed the tray with Arianette's drink and slipped out of the kitchen. Nicking a top hat from the hat rack in the corner, he pulled it low over his eyes.
Placing Aria's drink on the table, Sebastian made sure to duck his head so that the angry woman from before might not recognize him. "Anything else, Miss?" He smiled tightly. Ridiculous though he may look, it might keep the woman from chewing him out.

(hope you dont mind me using the npc too!)
Aria raised an eyebrow as he came out with the hat on, smiling slightly. She fingered the wine glass and tapped the menu absently. "I'll have the onion soup...and the special." She glanced behind him, and watched the woman he had previously pissed off. She was yelling at the owner, before storming out in a fury.
"Sie können den Hut entfernen. Sie verließ."

(Not at all! :])
Sebastian, hearing the woman pitch a fit behind him, visibly flinched. It was nothing out of the ordinary for Sebastian to get customers in a foul mood, but they usually did not just up and leave L'appetit. Still, he wouldn't lose sleep over it and he could undoubtedly talk his way out of any trouble with his boss.
Removing the hat, Sebastian peered at the name inside, "Arnold Pratchett... well, much obliged, sir." Turning back to Arianette, he sighed. "What was it that you wanted? Onion soup and the special?" Sebastian jotted the order down quickly.
He smiled tightly. "Apologies about that. I may have rubbed that woman the wrong way. I guess we both aren't as popular as we might like," he drawled, referring to the gossipers from before. "I'll put this order in for you... someone else will get it to you. Something tells me I'll have to exchange pleasantries with my boss." By this, Sebastian meant he was about to slip out the back and indulge in a cigarette. They usually did not do much for him, but it sure as hell beat waiting on the pompous men and women who dined at L'appetit.
"Enjoy your meal- Mr. Pratchett will be missing his hat." Strolling towards the kitchen, Sebastian put the hat back on the rack and gently kicked the swinging door of the kitchen open.
(I dunno where to go with this! Any ideas? :])

((PMED you about it )) Ariannette nodded, smiling. "Well, I'm sure you will handle it with grace, and find a good way to put everyone in their place. Like any good host. After all, can't be popular all the time, but we can make sure we're better than our detractors." She watched him go, debating a few things. He was a curious fellow...she even wanted to know more about him, perhaps. She wasn't quite sure what he'd say if she asked him to join her. It would be quite forward, cause more gossip...but its just chatting. And he could always dump her meal in her lap. Either way, it would be something interesting in her recently dull life. When her food finally came, she paused, touching her waiter's arm. "Thomas, could you bring the...host out here? The german one. And if your boss asks, tell him Aria asked. He knows me." Thomas nodded and headed outback, nodding at Sebastian. "Uh...that pretty woman? Aria? She's asking for you."

Sebastian, having spent a good half an hour smoking a cigarette out behind the resturaunt, had finally opted to return to work after a clap of thunder suggested inclement weather. Strolling back into the kitchen, Sebastian was retying his apron when Thomas approached him.
"Uh...that pretty woman? Aria? She's asking for you."
Sebastian furrowed his eyebrows, giving his friend a strange look, "What? The blonde? What did I do to her?" Aside from being terribly rude and more or less an altogether unpleasant person. Sighing heavily, Sebastian wondered if he was doomed to have another customer shriek at him. Still, she had seemed fine enough with him before.
"Very well. I expect you'll be able to take over should I not return." He smiled vaguely at Thomas before exiting thre kitchen once more.
Approaching Aria, he cocked an eyebrow. "Was the wine unsatisfactory or have you taken my comment about the silverware to heart?" She didn't seem livid, which was a nice change. No happy customer ever asked to see Sebastian.
