"Devil get back here," She yelled out calling a huge black dog back to her. The dog looked like it could eat her in one bit, but she had a grin on her face as he came lopping towards her. Big paws came up on her shoulders getting snow all over her. The force knocking her against the railing of the gate. Laughing she pushed his paws off, "You big mutt always getting me dirty." Noticing her hat she picked it up and sat it on top of her head. "Now stop terrorizing the people," she gently scolded her puppy.

mother walked up to the gates of the boarding house. she took a deep breath. she'd never lived with a bunch of girls before, and she was a little nervous

Lucky was grumbling up a storm, she was going to get the book that Dodger had hidden in the Girl's lodging house for her when she saw the girl looking like a lamb to the slaughter. "Move.." she said narrowing her eyes. She wasn't in the mood for little girls.

Spade watched the exchange and almost laughed. She couldn't help it, that one girl was being just plain mean and the other one didn't deserve it or at least as far as she saw it. Laughing she thought about going in but decided to go to the park with Devil. "Common Devil," she called still laughing.

Lily tipped her head back, examining the lodging house in all of it's glory... Sort of.
Ever since she'd decided that she was going to be a newsie, she'd been thinking about where to stay. This place looked right.
Thankfully, it was only girls who lived here. Lily didn't think she'd be able to live with boys. She took a deep breath, straightened the strap of her bag, and muttered, 'Heah goes everythin'." She then walked into the lodging house.
