"Depends," Drama said, staring out the window again. "Part of me is tired of the moving. Maybe I'll find a life here I can settle into."

Peem nodded. "Well, for my sake, I hope you do." He winked and laughed. "You give me a reason to waste my money at Caprice Hall..."

"I don't know whether to be complimented that you want me to stay, or insulted that I'm a waste of money," Drama teased with a smile. "And you don't even know if I can really sing...now do you?"

Peem laughed, pausing as their food came before answering. "...Aria wouldn't allow just anyone to work on her stage--if you aren't good, she wouldn't hire you."

"That is true," Drama agreed, taking a bite of her food. "Aria strikes me as someone who knows what she is doing. She made me audition twice." Taking another bite of the baklava, Drama closed her eyes and allowed the taste to fill her mouth. "You were right, this is fantastic."

Peem watched her with amusement. "I told you." He took a few bites of his salad. "...Yes. But she is relatively kind...I usually don't like french ladies...but she is one of the few adults besdies my mother that I like."

"What is it about adults?" Drama asked, taking another bite before setting her fork down and trying not to rush through the baklava.

Peem laughed. "None in particular...they just make too many assumptions. I'm not an orphan, I'm not a street rat, and I'm not going to shine their shoes."

"Ahh...I see," She noted with a nod. "Too many run-ins and wild assumptions made based on the fact that your a newsie. I know the feeling."

Peem nodded. "Exactly..but it dont mind me none..just reminds me how not to be when I'm older." He leaned on his arm a bit. "People probably make the assumption that you are a whore, pardon my language..."

Drama froze for a moment, startled partly be his accuracy but also with the fear that her past was worn so openly. Instructing herself to calm down she smile,. "That's certainly been the case a time or two."

Peem noticed the change but said nothing. It wasn't his place, and everyone's pasts were their own, and no one should be judged upon it. "Comes with the territory of being a performer...people always hope that you will fufil their fantasys."

"If only it were that easy," Drama sighed wistfully and then grinned. "Maybe every once in awhile I fulfill one persons fantasy...just by singing. At least I know I fulfill my own."

Peem nodded, taking a sip of his water. "Then that's all that really matters, isn't it, Drama?" He smiled. "...As long as you are happy...thats all that matters in the end."

"Ain't that the truth," Drama agreed, finishing her baklava and letting the fork fall to the plate with a clatter. "It took me a long time to realize that, but I think that's why New York might be different than all the other places I've been. I'm living for me now."
